1 Mictam di Davide, intorno a ciò ch’egli se ne fuggi’ nella spelonca, d’innanzi a Saulle; dato al capo de’ Musici sopra Al-tashet. ABBI pietà di me, o Dio; abbi pietà di me; Perciocchè l’anima mia si confida in te, Ed io ho la mia speranza nell’ombra delle tue ale, Finchè sieno passate le calamità.	1 For the director. 2 Io griderò all’Iddio altissimo; A Dio che dà compimento a’ fatti miei.	2 Have mercy on me, God, have mercy on me. In you I seek shelter. In the shadow of your wings I seek shelter till harm pass by.
3 Egli manderà dal cielo a salvarmi; Egli renderà confuso colui ch’è dietro a me a gola aperta. Sela. Iddio manderà la sua benignità, e la sua verità.	3 I call to God Most High, to God who provides for me.
4 L’anima mia è in mezzo a’ leoni; Io giaccio fra uomini incendiari, I cui denti son lance, e saette, E la cui lingua è spada acuta.	4 May God send help from heaven to save me, shame those who trample upon me. May God send fidelity and love. Selah
5 Innalzati, o Dio, sopra i cieli; Innalzisi la tua gloria sopra tutta la terra.	5 I must lie down in the midst of lions hungry for human prey. Their teeth are spears and arrows; their tongue, a sharpened sword.
6 Essi avevano apparecchiata una rete a’ miei passi, Già tiravano a basso l’anima mia; Avevano cavata una fossa davanti a me; Ma essi vi sono caduti dentro. Sela	6 Show yourself over the heavens, God; may your glory appear above all the earth.
7 Il mio cuore è disposto, o Dio; il mio cuore è disposto; Io canterò, e salmeggerò.	7 They have set a trap for my feet; my soul is bowed down; They have dug a pit before me. May they fall into it themselves! Selah
8 Gloria mia, destati; destati, saltero, e cetera; Io mi risveglierò all’alba.	8 My heart is steadfast, God, my heart is steadfast. I will sing and chant praise.
9 Io ti celebrerò, o Signore, fra i popoli; Io ti salmeggerò fra le nazioni;	9 Awake, my soul; awake, lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn.
10 Perciocchè la tua benignità è grande infino al cielo, E la tua verità infino alle nuvole.	10 I will praise you among the peoples, Lord; I will chant your praise among the nations.
11 Innalzati, o Dio, sopra i cieli; Innalzisi la tua gloria sopra tutta la terra	11 For your love towers to the heavens; your faithfulness, to the skies.
	12 Show yourself over the heavens, God; may your glory appear above all the earth.
