BIBLES DES PEUPLES	NEW JERUSALEM
1 En ce jour-là sur la terre de Juda on chantera ce chant: Nous avons une ville forte; avec son mur et son avant-mur elle est notre salut.	1 That day, this song wil be sung in Judah: 'We have a fortress city, the wal s and ramparts providesafety.
2 Ouvrez les portes, laissez entrer la nation juste, qui demeure fidèle	2 Open the gates! Let the upright nation come in, the nation that keeps faith!
3 et qui reste ferme. Tu la gardes en paix car elle a mis en toi sa confiance.	3 This is the plan decreed: you wil guarantee peace, the peace entrusted to you.
4 Mettez votre confiance en Yahvé, toujours, car Yahvé sera toujours un rocher.	4 Trust in Yahweh for ever, for Yahweh is a rock for ever.
5 Il a abaissé les habitants de là-haut, il a jeté à terre la cité imprenable, il l’a réduite en poussière.	5 He has brought low the dwel ers on the heights, the lofty citadel; he lays it low, brings it to the ground,flings it down in the dust.
6 Maintenant on la piétine, sur elle passent les pieds des petits, les pas des pauvres.	6 It wil be trodden under foot, by the feet of the needy, the steps of the weak.'
7 Le chemin pour le juste est toujours droit, tu aplanis, toi, le sentier du juste.	7 The path of the Upright One is honesty; you smooth the honest way of the upright.
8 Tu le sais, Yahvé, nous ne cherchons rien hors du chemin de tes commandements. Ton nom, ton souvenir font le bonheur de nos âmes;	8 Fol owing the path of your judgements, Yahweh, we set our hopes in you, your name, your memory areal our soul desires.
9 de nuit mon âme aspire à toi, et dès le matin mon esprit est en éveil. Lorsque tes sentences atteignent la terre, les habitants du monde apprennent la justice;	9 At night my soul longs for you and my spirit within me seeks you out; for when your judgements appearon earth the inhabitants of the world learn what saving justice is.
10 mais fait-on grâce au méchant, il n’apprend pas la justice, il commet le mal dans le pays de la droiture, il ne voit pas la majesté de Yahvé.	10 If pity is shown to the wicked without his learning what saving justice is, he wil act wrongly in the landof right conduct and not see the majesty of Yahweh.
11 Yahvé, ta main menace mais ils ne le voient pas. Qu’ils voient ton amour pour ton peuple et qu’ils en soient couverts de honte. Que le feu de ta colère dévore tes ennemis.	11 Yahweh, your hand is raised but they do not see! The antagonists of your people will look and growpale; with your fiery wrath you wil devour your enemies.
12 Ô Yahvé, donne-nous la paix, toi seul peux mener à bien ce que nous faisons.	12 Yahweh, you wil grant us peace, having completed al our undertakings for us.
13 Yahvé, notre Dieu, d’autres maîtres que toi nous ont dominés, mais nous ne connaissons que toi et nous célébrons ton nom.	13 Yahweh our God, other lords than you have ruled us but, loyal to you alone, we invoke your name.
14 Les morts ne revivront pas, les ombres ne se relèveront pas, car tu les as jugés, tu les as fait périr; tu as effacé jusqu’à leur souvenir.	14 The dead wil not come back to life, the shadows wil not rise again, for you have punished them,annihilated them, wiping out their very memory.
15 Yahvé, tu as fait grandir la nation, tu l’as fait grandir pour ta gloire et tu as repoussé les frontières du pays.	15 You have made the nation larger, Yahweh, made the nation larger and won yourself glory, you haverol ed back the frontiers of the country.
16 Dans le malheur nous t’avons recherché, au temps de l’oppression et de tes châtiments.	16 Yahweh, in distress they had recourse to you, they expended themselves in prayer, since yourpunishment was on them.
17 Tu nous vois, Yahvé, semblables à la femme enceinte sur le point d’enfanter, qui se tord et crie dans les douleurs.	17 As a pregnant woman near her time of delivery writhes and cries out in her pangs, so have we been,Yahweh, in your eyes:
18 Nous avons conçu, nous avons connu les douleurs, mais nous n’avons enfanté que le vent, nous n’avons pas apporté le salut à la terre, et les nouveaux habitants du monde ne sont pas nés.	18 we have been pregnant, we have writhed, but we have given birth only to wind: we have not givensalvation to the earth, no inhabitants for the world have been brought to birth.
19 Que tes morts revivent, que tes cadavres se relèvent! Que se réveillent et crient de joie ceux qui sont retournés à la poussière! Car ta rosée est rosée de lumière, et la terre nous rendra vivants ses morts.	19 Your dead will come back to life, your corpses wil rise again. Wake up and sing, you dwel ers in thedust, for your dew wil be a radiant dew, but the earth will give birth to the shades.
20 Va, mon peuple! Entre dans tes chambres, ferme la porte derrière toi, cache-toi ne serait-ce qu’un instant, le temps que passe la Colère!	20 Go, my people, go to your private room, shut yourselves in. Hide yourselves a little while until theretribution has passed.
21 Car voici que Yahvé sort de sa retraite pour faire payer leurs crimes aux habitants de la terre. La terre laissera voir le sang répandu, elle ne cachera plus ceux qu’on a massacrés.	21 For see, Yahweh emerges from his dwel ing to punish the inhabitants of earth for their guilt; and theearth will reveal the blood shed on it and no longer hide its slain.
