BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Nell'anno secondo di Dario re (di Persia), nel mese VI, nel primo dì, parlò il Signore in mano di Aggeo profeta a Zorobabel, figliuolo di Salatiel, duca di Giuda, e a Iesù, figliuolo di Iosedec, sacerdote grande, dicendo:	1 In the second year of King Darius, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of Yahweh wasaddressed through the prophet Haggai to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel governor of Judah and to Joshua son ofJehozadak the high priest as fol ows,
2 Questo dice il Signore delli esèrciti, dicendo: questo popolo dice: non è anche venuto il tempo di edificare la casa del Signore.	2 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "This people says: The time has not yet come to rebuild the Temple ofYahweh." '
3 E parlò il Signore in mano di Aggeo profeta, dicendo:	3 (And the word of Yahweh was addressed through the prophet Haggai, as follows,)
4 Or non è tempo a voi, che abitiate nelle case curiose e ornate, e questa casa sia diserta?	4 'Is this a time for you to live in your panel ed houses, when this House lies in ruins?
5 E ora questo dice il Signore degli esèrciti: ponete li cuori vostri sopra le vie vostre.	5 So now, Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Think careful y about your behaviour.
6 Voi seminaste molto, e ricoglieste poco; mangiaste, e non vi saziaste; beveste, e non v' inebriaste; copristevi, e non vi riscaldaste; e colui che radunò le mercedi (e guadagni) sì le mise nel sacco pertugiato (e forato).	6 You have sown much and harvested little; you eat but never have enough, drink but never have yourfill, put on clothes but feel no warmth. The wage-earner gets his wages only to put them in a bag with a hole init."
7 Questo dice il Signore degli eserciti: ponete li cuori vostri sopra le vie vostre.	7 Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Think careful y about your behaviour.
8 Salite nel monte, portate li legni, edificatemi la casa; e sarammi accettevole, e sarov vi glorificato, dice il Signore.	8 Go up into the hills, fetch timber and rebuild the House; and I shal take pleasure in it and manifest myglory there -- Yahweh says.
9 Voi avete ragguardato ad avere più, ed ecco ch' egli è diventato meno; e portàstevelo in casa, e io ve'l dispersi; e per qual cagione (vi sono avvenute queste cose) dice il Signore degli esèrciti? certo per che la casa mia è deserta, e ciascuno di voi è presto alla utilità della casa sua.	9 The abundance you expected proved to be little. When you brought the harvest in, I blasted it. Andwhy? - Yahweh Sabaoth declares. Because while my House lies in ruins, each of you is busy with his ownhouse.
10 Per questo io ho vietato alli cieli, che non diano la rugiada (sopra voi), e alla terra ho vietato che non dèsse lo germoglio suo.	10 That is why the sky has withheld the rain and the earth withheld its yield.
11 E chiamai il secco sopra la terra e sopra li monti, e sopra lo grano e sopra lo vino, e sopra l'olio e sopra qualunque cosa produce (sopra) la terra, e sopra gli uomini e sopra gli giumenti e sopra ogni lavorio delle vostre mani.	11 I have cal ed down drought on land and hil s, on grain, on new wine, on olive oil and on al the produceof the ground, on humans and animals and al your labours." '
12 E Zorobabel figliuolo di Salatiel, e Iesù figliuolo di Iosedec, sacerdote grande, e tutto il popolo che v'era rimaso, udì la voce del suo Iddio e le parole di Aggeo profeta, sì come il loro Signore Iddio l' avea mandato a loro; e temette il popolo. dalla faccia del Signore.	12 Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, Joshua son of Jehozadak the high priest and the entire remnant of thepeople, paid attention to the voice of Yahweh their God and to the words of the prophet Haggai, which Yahwehtheir God had sent him to deliver.
