Seconda Epistola di Santo Paulo alli Tessalonicesi 2

1 Preghiamovi, fratelli, per l'avvenimento del nostro Signore Iesù Cristo, e (per amore) della nostra congregazione la qual è in lui,	1 And we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and of our gathering together unto him:
2 che voi non vi rimoviate in prescia del vostro senno, e che non vi spaventiate per alcuno spirito, nè per parola, nè per epistola, quasi mandata da nostra parte, la qual dicesse che il dì (del gindizio) del Signore fosse così di presente.	2 That you be not easily moved from your sense, nor be terrified, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by epistle, as sent from us, as if the day of the Lord were at hand.
3 Non v' inganni alcuna persona per alcuno modo; che mestieri è che vegna in prima il partimento, e sia manifestato l' uomo del peccato, figliuolo della perdizione.	3 Let no man deceive you by any means, for unless there come a revolt first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition,
4 Il quale combatterà, e leverassi in superbia, e sopra ogni cosa della deità, e sopra ogni cosa che si venera, in tal guisa ch' egli sederà nel tempio di Dio, mostrandosi com' egli fosse Dio.	4 Who opposeth, and is lifted up above all that is called God, or that is worshipped, so that he sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself as if he were God.
5 Non vi ricorda, che insino ch' io era con voi, queste cose vi dicea?	5 Remember you not, that when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6 E ora sapete che cosa tenga (questo detto), ch' egli farà manifesto nel suo tempo.	6 And now you know what withholdeth, that he may be revealed in his time.
7 Chè per certo già si comincia il servizio della. iniquità; tanto tenga ora quelli che tiene, insino a tanto che sia fuori del mezzo (e quello del mezzo sia fatto).	7 For the mystery of iniquity already worketh; only that he who now holdeth, do hold, until he be taken out of the way.
8 E allora si manifestarà quello malvagio, il quale il nostro Signore Iesù Cristo ucciderà col spirito della sua bocca, e distruggerallo col spirito del suo avvenimento.	8 And then that wicked one shall be revealed whom the Lord Jesus shall kill with the spirit of his mouth; and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming, him,
9 L'avvenimento del quale è secondo l' operazione di satana, con ogni virtù, e con segni di miracoli bugiardi,	9 Whose coming is according to the working of Satan, in all power, and signs, and lying wonders,
10 e con ogni seducimento (d'inganno e) di iniquità, (e questo sarà) a coloro che periscono; imperò che la carità della verità non ricevettero per salvare sè medesimi. Perciò manderà Dio a coloro l'operazione dell' errore, perchè credano alla bugia,	10 And in all seduction of iniquity to them that perish; because they receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. Therefore God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying:
11 perchè sieno giudicati tutti coloro che non credono alla verità, anzi consentono all' iniquità.	11 That all may be judged who have not believed the truth, but have consented to iniquity.
12 Ma noi dovemo rendere grazie a Dio sempre per voi, fratelli diletti; però ch' egli elesse voi primizie di salute, in santificazione di spirito, e in fede di verità.	12 But we ought to give thanks to God always for you, brethren, beloved of God, for that God hath chosen you firstfruits unto salvation, in sanctification of the spirit, and faith of the truth:
13 Per la qual chiamò voi per la nostra predicazione, maestramento di gloria del nostro Signore Iesù Cristo.	13 Whereunto also he hath called you by our gospel, unto the purchasing of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
14 Adunque, fratelli, state; e tenete gli ordinamenti spirituali, li quali voi imprendeste ovver con parole [ovver] con epistola mandata da noi.	14 Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle.
15 Ma quello Signore nostro Iesù Cristo, e Dio padre nostro, il quale amò noi, e diette a noi eternale consolazione e buona speranza,	15 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God and our Father, who hathloved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation, and good hope in grace,
16 egli conforti li vostri cuori (con grazia), e confermi voi in ogni buona parola e in ogni buona opera.	16 Exhort your hearts, and confirm you in every good work and word.
