| 1 Paulo apostolo, non dagli uomini nè (eletto) per uomo, ma per Iesù Cristo, e per Dio padre, il quale suscitò lui da morte, | 1 Paul an apostle--not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead-- |
| 2 e tutti gli altri fratelli li quali sono meco (salute mandiamo) alle Chiese le quali son in Galazia. | 2 and all the brethren who are with me, To the churches of Galatia: |
| 3 Grazia sia a voi e pace da Dio padre, e dal nostro Signore Iesù Cristo, | 3 Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, |
| 4 (imperò) che diede sè medesimo per li peccati nostri, [a] scampare noi di questo secolo malvagio, secondo la volontà di Dio padre nostro, | 4 who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father; |
| 5 al quale è gloria in tutti li secoli de' secoli. | 5 to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen. |
| 6 Maravigliomi che così presto vi transferite (e partiate) da colui il quale vi chiamò nella grazia di Cristo (e volete credere) in altro evangelio. | 6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and turning to a different gospel-- |
| 7 Il quale non è altro, se non è che son alquanti li quali vi conturbano, e vogliono rivolgere (e transmutare) l' evangelio di Cristo. | 7 not that there is another gospel, but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. |
| 8 Ma dicovi così, che se io o angelo del cielo venisse per evangelizzare a voi in altra guisa che noi predicammo a voi, sia scomunicato, | 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we preached to you, let him be accursed. |
| 9 come io predissi a voi, e adesso un' altra volta vi dico: se alcuno predicherà a voi, eccetto quello che avete ricevuto, sia scomunicato. | 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, If any one is preaching to you a gospel contrary to that which you received, let him be accursed. |
| 10 Ma ora vogl' io suadere agli uomini, ovver a Dio? Ovver cerco io di piacere agli uomini? Se io ancora piacessi agli uomini, non sarei servo di Cristo. | 10 Am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still pleasing men, I should not be a servant of Christ. |
| 11 Ma sappiate, fratelli, che l' evangelio che predicato è da me, che non è secondo l' uomo. | 11 For I would have you know, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not man's gospel. |
| 12 Nè ebbilo dall' uomo, nè non l' imparai; ma ebbilo per revelazione di Iesù Cristo. | 12 For I did not receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through a revelation of Jesus Christ. |
| 13 Chè voi udiste la conversazione mia altra volta per me medesimo, che oltra misura perseguitava la Chiesa di Dio, e combattea quella. | 13 For you have heard of my former life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God violently and tried to destroy it; |
| 14 E sopra avanzava (molti) in lo giudaismo sopra molti ch' erano di mia età nella schiatta mia, essendo molto fervente seguitatore delle dottrine mie paternali. | 14 and I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people, so extremely zealous was I for the traditions of my fathers. |
| 15 Ma quando piacque a colui, che mi spartie dal ventre della mia madre, e chiamò me per la sua grazia, | 15 But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and had called me through his grace, |
| 16 per manifestare il suo Figliuolo in me, perchè io lo predicassi intra la gente, io incontinente non obbedii alla carne e al sangue. | 16 was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not confer with flesh and blood, |
| 17 Nè venni in Ierusalem dagli antecessori miei apostoli; ma andai in Arabìa, e poi ritornai ancora in Damasco. | 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia; and again I returned to Damascus. |
| 18 E poi dopo tre anni venni in Ierusalem per vdere Pietro, e stetti con lui quindici dì. | 18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas, and remained with him fifteen days. |
| 19 E niuno degli apostoli viddi, se non Iacob fratello del Signore. | 19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James the Lord's brother. |
| 20 E di queste cose ch' io vi scrivo, Dio è presente, ch' io non mento. | 20 (In what I am writing to you, before God, I do not lie!) |
| 21 E poi venni nelle parti di Siria e Cilicia. | 21 Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia. |
| 22 E (per tutto questo) ancora non era palese (nè manifesto) alle Chiese di Iudea, le quali erano in Cristo. | 22 And I was still not known by sight to the churches of Christ in Judea; |
| 23 Ma aveano inteso di me (in questo modo) che quello che si solea fare persecutore per altro tempo, era predicatore della fede, la quale altre volte (guerreggiava e) combatteva. | 23 they only heard it said, "He who once persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy." |
| 24 E in me glorificavano Dio. | 24 And they glorified God because of me. |
