| 1 Al postutto io pur ho inteso che intra voi è tal fornicazione, che la simigliante non è udita intra le genti, che alcuno abbia la mogliere del padre. | 1 It is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and of a kind that is not found even among pagans; for a man is living with his father's wife. |
| 2 E voi siete enfiati, che maggiormente dovevate piangere, chè fosse tolto (e separato) di tra voi quegli che questa cosa fece. | 2 And you are arrogant! Ought you not rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you. |
| 3 E certo io son da lungi da voi secondo il corpo; ma col spirito essendo presente, già ho giudicato colui che cotale opera fece, sì come io fussi presente. | 3 For though absent in body I am present in spirit, and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment |
| 4 E nel nome del nostro Signore Iesù Cristo, ragunati tutti e il mio spirito, colla virtù di Iesù Cristo, | 4 in the name of the Lord Jesus on the man who has done such a thing. When you are assembled, and my spirit is present, with the power of our Lord Jesus, |
| 5 giudico nella morte della carne, che sia dato a satana questo cotal uomo, acciò che il spirito sia salvo nel dì del nostro Signore Iesù Cristo. | 5 you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. |
| 6 Non è buona la vostra glorificazione; non sapete voi, che un poco di levato corrompe tutta la massa? | 6 Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? |
| 7 Adunque espurgate (e nettate) il vecchio levato, chè siate novella conspersione, chè voi siate azimi (e senza levato); chè la vostra pasca sì è Cristo sacrificato. | 7 Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our paschal lamb, has been sacrificed. |
| 8 Adunque manuchiamo (onorevolmente), e non col levato vecchio di malizia e d' iniquità, ma con azimo di purità e di verità. | 8 Let us, therefore, celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. |
| 9 Scrissi a voi [in] una epistola, che non vi mischiate (e che non abbiate commistione) coi fornicatori | 9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with immoral men; |
| 10 di questo mondo; nè con gli avari, nè con li rapaci, nè con li servitori delli idoli non abbiate. famigliarità; altrimenti sarebbe meglio che fossi usciti di questo mondo. | 10 not at all meaning the immoral of this world, or the greedy and robbers, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. |
| 11 E ancora vi scrivo, che non siate mescolati (con coloro che sono rei); che se alcuno di voi è nominato d'essere fornicatore, ovver avaro e servitore delli idoli, ovver maledicente, ovver imbriaco ovver rapitore delle cose altrui, che con questi cotali non si debbe manducare (con loro). | 11 But rather I wrote to you not to associate with any one who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or robber--not even to eat with such a one. |
| 12 Che mi fa a me di giudicare di quelle cose che son di fuori? e non giudicate voi di quelle cose che son dentro? | 12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? |
| 13 Chè coloro che son di fuori giudicherà il Signore. Togliete il male da voi medesimi. | 13 God judges those outside. "Drive out the wicked person from among you." |
