Deuteronomio 34

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 E salio Moisè del piano di Moab in sul monte di Nebo, nel capo di Fosga, dirimpetto a Gerico; e Iddio sì gli mostrò tutta la terra di Galaad insino a Dan,	1 Then, leaving the Plains of Moab, Moses went up Mount Nebo, the peak of Pisgah opposite Jericho,and Yahweh showed him the whole country: Gilead as far as Dan,
2 e tutto Nefali, e la terra di Efraim e di Ma nasse, e tutta la terra di Giuda, insino a l'ultimo del mare,	2 the whole of Naphtali, the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, the whole country of Judah as far as theWestern Sea,
3 dalla parte australe, e anco l'ampiezza del campo di Gerico della città delle palme insino a Segor.	3 the Negeb, and the region of the Val ey of Jericho, city of palm trees, as far as Zoar.
4 E dissegli Iddio Signore: questa è la terra, per la quale io giurai (e promisi) ad Abraam, Isaac e Iacob, dicendo loro: al vostro seme darò questa terra; tu l'hai veduta con gli occhii tuoi, e non ci (anderai ne) entrerai dentro.	4 Yahweh said to him, 'This is the country which I promised on oath to give to Abraham, Isaac andJacob, saying: I shal give it to your descendants. I have al owed you to see it for yourself, but you wil not crossinto it.'
5 E mori quivi Moisè, servo di Dio Signore, nella terra di Moab, siccome Iddio Signore comandò.	5 There in the country of Moab, Moses, servant of Yahweh, died as Yahweh decreed;
6 E sì lo sotterrò nella valle della terra di Moab, dirimpetto a Fogor; e non fu uomo che po tesse sapere il suo sepolcro, insino al dì d'oggi.	6 he buried him in the val ey, in the country of Moab, opposite Beth-Peor; but to this day no one hasever found his grave.
7 Moisè, quando morì, si era di cento venti anni; e gli suoi occhii non divennero però iscuri, e i suoi denti non si mutorono però mai.	7 Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, his eye undimmed, his vigour unimpaired.
8 E pianserlo i figliuoli d'Israel nel piano di Moab trenta dì; e così compiti furono i dì del pianto di coloro i quali piansero Moisè.	8 The Israelites wept for Moses on the Plains of Moab for thirty days. The days of weeping for themourning rites of Moses came to an end.
9 E Iosuè figliuolo di Nun sì fu ripieno dello spirito (santo) della sapienza; imperciò che Moisè (inanzi ch' esso morisse) sì gli puose le mani sopra. E poi ubbidirono li figliuoli d'Israel a Iosuè, e fe cero siccome Iddio comandò (e disse) a Moisè.	9 Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him, and himthe Israelites obeyed, carrying out the order which Yahweh had given to Moses.
10 E non si levò da quel tempo in qua profeta, siccome fu Moisè, che conoscesse (e vedesse) Iddio a faccia a faccia,	10 Since then, there has never been such a prophet in Israel as Moses, the man whom Yahweh knewface to face.
11 con tanti segni e con tante maraviglie, le quali Iddio mandò sopra lui, acciò ch' egli facesse nella terra d'Egitto a Faraone e a tutti i servi suoi e a tutta la terra sua,	11 What signs and wonders Yahweh caused him to perform in Egypt against Pharaoh, al his servantsand his whole country!
12 e la mano (forte e) robusta, e grandissime maraviglie, le quali fece Moisè innanzi a tutto quanto il popolo d'Israel.	12 How mighty the hand and great the fear that Moses wielded in the eyes of al Israel!
