| 1 Parlò Iddio a Moisè, e dissegli: | 1 The LORD said to Moses, |
| 2 Parlerai queste parole alli figliuoli d'Israel: nullo uomo del popolo d'Israel e de' forestieri, che sarà nel popolo, dia della sua progenie allo idolo Moloc: e se alcuno gliene desse, morrà inconta nente; il popolo della terra il lapiderà. | 2 "Say to the people of Israel, Any man of the people of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, who gives any of his children to Molech shall be put to death; the people of the land shall stone him with stones. |
| 3 E la faccia mia porrò contra di lui, e leve rollo di mezzo del popolo suo; però ch' hae offerto dello seme suo a Moloc, e hae contaminato lo santuario mio, e hae polluto lo mio santo nome. | 3 I myself will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people, because he has given one of his children to Molech, defiling my sanctuary and profaning my holy name. |
| 4 E se sarà alcuno che non tenga questo comandamento, e facciane poca estimazione, e lasserà l'uomo il quale avrà dato del seme suo a Moloc, e non l'avrà voluto uccidere, | 4 And if the people of the land do at all hide their eyes from that man, when he gives one of his children to Molech, and do not put him to death, |
| 5 io porrò la mia faccia contra lui e contra lo suo parentado, (e leverollo) e taglierollo, e tutti quelli che consentirono a lui ch' ei commettesse idolatria con Moloc, del mezzo del popolo suo. | 5 then I will set my face against that man and against his family, and will cut them off from among their people, him and all who follow him in playing the harlot after Molech. |
| 6 L'uomo che anderae ad indovini e a maghi, e farà con loro malie, io porrò la mia faccia contro di lui, e ucciderollo (nel luogo, cioè) nel mezzo del popolo suo. | 6 "If a person turns to mediums and wizards, playing the harlot after them, I will set my face against that person, and will cut him off from among his people. |
| 7 Vivete santamente e siate santi, perciò ch' io sono (santo, dice) Iddio. | 7 Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am the LORD your God. |
| 8 Osservate i miei comandamenti, e fategli; e io sono Iddio, che vi santificherò. | 8 Keep my statutes, and do them; I am the LORD who sanctify you. |
| 9 Chi maledirà lo padre o la madre sua, sia morto. E chi maledirà lo padre e la madre, il sangue suo sarà sopra di lui. | 9 For every one who curses his father or his mother shall be put to death; he has cursed his father or his mother, his blood is upon him. |
| 10 E chi giacerà colla moglie d'altrui, e commetterà adulterio colla moglie del prossimo suo, muoia di morte lo adultero e la adultera. | 10 "If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death. |
| 11 E chi dormirà colla matrigna sua, e rivelerà la vergogna del padre suo, muoiano di morte amendue; e lo sangue suo sia sopra di loro. | 11 The man who lies with his father's wife has uncovered his father's nakedness; both of them shall be put to death, their blood is upon them. |
| 12 E se alcuno dormirà colla nuora sua, muo iano amendue; perciò che hanno commesso grande scelerazione. E lo sangue suo sia sopra di loro. | 12 If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall be put to death; they have committed incest, their blood is upon them. |
| 13 Chi dormirà con mascolo in coito femineo, tutti due hanno fatto uno grande peccato, e amen due muoiano; e lo sangue suo sia sopra loro. | 13 If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death, their blood is upon them. |
| 14 E (chi sarà colui il quale) condurrà la figliuola sopra la moglie sua madre, ha fatto grande scele rità; vivo arderà con loro, e non rimanga tanto peccato nel mezzo di voi. | 14 If a man takes a wife and her mother also, it is wickedness; they shall be burned with fire, both he and they, that there may be no wickedness among you. |
| 15 E chi si congiungerà con bestia si mora; e la bestia sia morta. | 15 If a man lies with a beast, he shall be put to death; and you shall kill the beast. |
| 16 E la femina che si congiugnerà con bestia sia morta colla bestia; e lo sangue suo sia sopra di lei. | 16 If a woman approaches any beast and lies with it, you shall kill the woman and the beast; they shall be put to death, their blood is upon them. |
| 17 E chi userà colla sorella, figliuola del padre suo o della madre sua, e vederà la sua vergogna, ed essa considererà la ignominia del fratello, hanno operati una sceleste cosa; siano morti amendue nel mezzo del popolo suo, però ch' hanno amendue fatto cosa scelerata; e porteranno la loro iniquità. | 17 "If a man takes his sister, a daughter of his father or a daughter of his mother, and sees her nakedness, and she sees his nakedness, it is a shameful thing, and they shall be cut off in the sight of the children of their people; he has uncovered his sister's nakedness, he shall bear his iniquity. |
| 18 Chi si congiugnerà colla femina la quale abbia il menstruo, e rivelerà la turpitudine sua, e lei avrà aperto lo fonte del suo sangue, siano morti amendue nel mezzo del popolo suo. | 18 If a man lies with a woman having her sickness, and uncovers her nakedness, he has made naked her fountain, and she has uncovered the fountain of her blood; both of them shall be cut off from among their people. |
| 19 La turpitudine della sorella di tua madre, ovver tua amita, non discoprire. Chi questo farà, ha discoperto la ignominia della sua carne; amendue porteranno la sua iniquitade. | 19 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister or of your father's sister, for that is to make naked one's near kin; they shall bear their iniquity. |
| 20 Chi giacerà con la moglie del fratello di suo padre, ovver del suo avuncolo, e rivelerà la igno minia della sua cognazione, amendue porteranno la sua iniquità; e moriranno senza figliuoli. | 20 If a man lies with his uncle's wife, he has uncovered his uncle's nakedness; they shall bear their sin, they shall die childless. |
| 21 Chi conducerà la moglie del suo fratello, fa una cosa illicita; rivelò la turpitudine del suo fratello; saranno senza figliuoli. | 21 If a man takes his brother's wife, it is impurity; he has uncovered his brother's nakedness, they shall be childless. |
| 22 (E però io vi dico:) osservate le mie leggi, e li miei comandamenti servate, acciò che la terra ch' io vi darò vi riceva. | 22 "You shall therefore keep all my statutes and all my ordinances, and do them; that the land where I am bringing you to dwell may not vomit you out. |
| 23 Non anderete con quella gente ch' io caccerò dinnanzi a voi, perciò che loro fecero tutte queste cose le quali io vi vietai; perciò ch' io gli caccerò dinnanzi da voi. | 23 And you shall not walk in the customs of the nation which I am casting out before you; for they did all these things, and therefore I abhorred them. |
| 24 E perciò parlo a voi: possedete la terra loro, la quale io vi darò in eredità, che germinerà latte e miele. Io sono lo vostro Iddio, il quale v'ha separati dalli altri popoli. | 24 But I have said to you, 'You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey.' I am the LORD your God, who have separated you from the peoples. |
| 25 Separate dunque voi lo animal mondo e l'uccello mondo dallo immondo, e non deturpate l'anime vostre nelle pecore e negli uccelli e in tutte le cose che si muovono sopra la terra, e che io vi mostrai esser immonde. | 25 You shall therefore make a distinction between the clean beast and the unclean, and between the unclean bird and the clean; you shall not make yourselves abominable by beast or by bird or by anything with which the ground teems, which I have set apart for you to hold unclean. |
| 26 (Se voi osserverete queste cose), mi sarete santi; però ch' io son santo Signore, e sì vi separai dagli altri popoli, acciò che voi siate miei. | 26 You shall be holy to me; for I the LORD am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be mine. |
| 27 L'uomo ovver la femina, ne' quali sarà spirito di indovinamento, siano morti; e siano lapidati, e lo sangue loro sia sopra essi. | 27 "A man or a woman who is a medium or a wizard shall be put to death; they shall be stoned with stones, their blood shall be upon them." |
