| 1 Questo dice lo Signore Iddio: lo cielo sì è la mia sedia, e la terra sì è lo luogo dove istanno li miei piedi; quale è questa casa la quale voi edificate a me? e quale è lo luogo del mio riposo? | 1 Thus says the LORD: "Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool; what is the house which you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest? |
| 2 La mia mano fece tutte queste cose, e tutte queste cose sono fatte (dalla mia mano), dice lo Signore Iddio: ma a cui riguarderò io, se non al poverello e al contrito di spirito e che teme le mie parole? | 2 All these things my hand has made, and so all these things are mine, says the LORD. But this is the man to whom I will look, he that is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word. |
| 3 Il quale offeriva lo bove, quasi come quello che uccide l'uomo; quello che uccide la pecora, quasi come uno altro offerisse lo cane; e offera l'offerta quasi come uno che offerisse lo sangue del porco; lo quale hae in memoria lo incenso quasi come quello che benedice all' idolo. Tutte queste cose eleggettono (a sè) nelle loro vie; nelle loro (operazioni e) abbominazioni si dilettò l' anima loro. | 3 "He who slaughters an ox is like him who kills a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, like him who breaks a dog's neck; he who presents a cereal offering, like him who offers swine's blood; he who makes a memorial offering of frankincense, like him who blesses an idol. These have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations; |
| 4 Per la qual cosa io eleggerò li loro schernimenti; e quelli di cui elli temeano adducerò (e farò che verrà) loro; però ch' io chiamai, e non era chi rispondesse; e parlai, e non mi volsono udire; e feceno male dinanzi dalla faccia mia, e le cose che non mi furono a piacere elessono (a sè). | 4 I also will choose affliction for them, and bring their fears upon them; because, when I called, no one answered, when I spoke they did not listen; but they did what was evil in my eyes, and chose that in which I did not delight." |
| 5 Udite la parola di Dio, li quali avete in paura lo suo detto; e li vostri fratelli, che v' aveano in odio, e scaccianvi per amore mio, dissono: sia glorificato lo Signore, e vederemo nella vostra letizia; ma loro riceveranno confusione. | 5 Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at his word: "Your brethren who hate you and cast you out for my name's sake have said, 'Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy'; but it is they who shall be put to shame. |
| 6 La voce del popolo esce delle cittadi, e la voce loro esce del tempio; ma la voce di Dio è, che rende retribuzione a' suoi nemici. | 6 "Hark, an uproar from the city! A voice from the temple! The voice of the LORD, rendering recompense to his enemies! |
| 7 Innanzi che partorisse, partorì; innanzi che venisse al tempo del parto, partorì uno fanciullo maschio. (E questo s' intende così, che innanzi che si compiesse il tempo del partorire, partorì; però che non pati dolore; e però quando la femina partorisce sanza dolore, dice che non si chiama parto). | 7 "Before she was in labor she gave birth; before her pain came upon her she was delivered of a son. |
| 8 Or chi udì mai cotale cosa? e chi vidde mai cosa che a questa fusse simile? or partorirà la terra in uno dì? ovvero che la gente partorirà insieme, però che Sion partorì, e partorì li suoi figliuoli? | 8 Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Shall a nation be brought forth in one moment? For as soon as Zion was in labor she brought forth her sons. |
| 9 Or dunque io, il quale fo partorire altrui, io stesso non partorirò? dice lo Signore. Se io il quale do agli altri virtù di generare, rimarrò sterile? dice lo Signore Iddio tuo. | 9 Shall I bring to the birth and not cause to bring forth? says the LORD; shall I, who cause to bring forth, shut the womb? says your God. |
| 10 Rallegratevi con Ierusalem, e allegratevi in lei, tutti voi che l'amate; rallegratevi con lei in gaudio, tutti voi che piangevate (e dolevatevi) sopra lei, | 10 "Rejoice with Jerusalem, and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice with her in joy, all you who mourn over her; |
| 11 acciò che voi succhiate, e rimaniate pieni delle poppe della sua consolazione, e acciò che voi mungiate lo latte, e abbondiate de' diletti di tutta la sua gloria. | 11 that you may suck and be satisfied with her consoling breasts; that you may drink deeply with delight from the abundance of her glory." |
| 12 Però che questo dice lo Signore: ecco inchinerò sopra quella, quasi come uno fiume di pace, e come uno rivolo producente con abbondanza la gloria delle genti, la quale gloria voi succhierete; voi sarete portati alle mammelle, e sarete tenuti sopra le ginocchia, e sarannovi fatte lusinghe. | 12 For thus says the LORD: "Behold, I will extend prosperity to her like a river, and the wealth of the nations like an overflowing stream; and you shall suck, you shall be carried upon her hip, and dandled upon her knees. |
| 13 Si come la madre lusinga il suo figliuolo, così consolerò io voi, e sarete consolati in Ierusalem. | 13 As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem. |
| 14 Voi vederete, e lo vostro cuore si rallegrerà, e le vostre ossa faranno frutto come l'erba; e sarà conosciuta la mano di Dio alli suoi servi, e s' indignerà sopra li suoi nemici. | 14 You shall see, and your heart shall rejoice; your bones shall flourish like the grass; and it shall be known that the hand of the LORD is with his servants, and his indignation is against his enemies. |
| 15 Però che lo Signore verrà nel fuoco suoi carri saranno come una tempesta; e renderà lo suo furore collo isdegno, e la riprensione colla fiamma del fuoco. | 15 "For behold, the LORD will come in fire, and his chariots like the stormwind, to render his anger in fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. |
| 16 Però che lo Signore giudicherà con lo fuoco, e con lo suo coltello, ad ogni carne (cioè ad ogni generazione); e li morti da Dio si moltiplicheranno. | 16 For by fire will the LORD execute judgment, and by his sword, upon all flesh; and those slain by the LORD shall be many. |
| 17 Quelli che erano santificati, e credevansi esser mondi (e istavano) nelli orti dopo la porta dentro, i quali mangiavano la carne del porco e lo abominamento e lo topo, questi saranno insieme consumati, dice lo Signore. | 17 "Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following one in the midst, eating swine's flesh and the abomination and mice, shall come to an end together, says the LORD. |
| 18 E io vengo per radunare le loro opere e li loro pensieri con tutte le genti e con ogni linguaggio; e verranno e vederanno la gloria mia. | 18 "For I know their works and their thoughts, and I am coming to gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and shall see my glory, |
| 19 E porrò in loro uno segno, e manderò di coloro che saranno salvati, alle genti nel mare (e anderanno) in Africa e in Lidia, e tenderanno la saetta; in Italia e in Grecia, alle isole da lungi (e manderolli) a coloro i quali non udirono di me alcuna cosa, e non viddono la gloria mia. E annuncieranno la gloria mia alle genti. | 19 and I will set a sign among them. And from them I will send survivors to the nations, to Tarshish, Put, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the coastlands afar off, that have not heard my fame or seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the nations. |
| 20 E meneranno tutti li vostri fratelli di tutte le genti lo dono a Dio, e verranno a cavallo, nelli carri e nelle lettiere e in su li muli e in su le carrette al mio santo monte in Ierusalem, dice Iddio, come se li figliuoli di Israel mettino lo dono nel vaso mondo nella casa del Signore (cioè nella santa giesia). | 20 And they shall bring all your brethren from all the nations as an offering to the LORD, upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon dromedaries, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the LORD, just as the Israelites bring their cereal offering in a clean vessel to the house of the LORD. |
| 21 E farò di quelli, sacerdoti e leviti, dice lo Signore. | 21 And some of them also I will take for priests and for Levites, says the LORD. |
| 22 Però che sì come li cieli nuovi e la nuova terra, i quali io foe stare innanzi a me, così istarà lo vostro seme e lo vostro nome. | 22 "For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before me, says the LORD; so shall your descendants and your name remain. |
| 23 E sarà lo mese dal mese, e lo sabbato dal sabbato; tutta la umana generazione verrà per adorarmi innanzi alla mia faccia, dice lo Signore Iddio. | 23 From new moon to new moon, and from sabbath to sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before me, says the LORD. |
| 24 E usciranno fuori, e vederanno li corpi morti di coloro i quali hanno prevaricato contro a me; loro vermine non morrà, e lo fuoco loro non si spegnerà; e istaranno a vedere tutti insino a tanto che saranno pieni di saziamento (in sempiterno). | 24 "And they shall go forth and look on the dead bodies of the men that have rebelled against me; for their worm shall not die, their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be an abhorrence to all flesh." |
