| 1 Lèvati suso, Ierusalem, e allùminati; però che viene lo tuo lume, e la gloria del Signore sì è nata sopra te. | 1 Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. |
| 2 Però che le tenebre copriranno la terra, e la oscurità coprirà li populi; e lo Signore nascerà sopra te, e la sua gloria si vedrà in te. | 2 For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you. |
| 3 E le genti anderanno nello lume tuo, e li re nello splendore del tuo nascimento. | 3 And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. |
| 4 Alza nel circuito li occhi tuoi, e riguarda; tutti quelli che sono radunati, sono venuti a te; li tuoi figliuoli verranno dalla lunga, e le tue figliuole si leveranno dello lato. | 4 Lift up your eyes round about, and see; they all gather together, they come to you; your sons shall come from far, and your daughters shall be carried in the arms. |
| 5 Allora tu vederai e abbonderai, e lo tuo cuore si maraviglierà e dilaterassi, quando la moltitudine del mare sarà (chiamata, convertita e) rivolta a te, e quando la fortezza delle genti sarà venuta a te. | 5 Then you shall see and be radiant, your heart shall thrill and rejoice; because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the nations shall come to you. |
| 6 L'abbondanza de' cammelli coprirà te, e li (tuoi) dromedarii di Madian ed Efa; (e nota che li dromedarii sono animali minori che cammelli, ma sono più veloci; Madian ed Efa sì sono contrade, e sono di là da Arabia, e abbondano molto di cammelli e di dromedarii); tutti quelli di Saba (cioè di quella contrada) verranno, e porteranno oro e incenso, e annunceranno lode a Dio. | 6 A multitude of camels shall cover you, the young camels of Midian and Ephah; all those from Sheba shall come. They shall bring gold and frankincense, and shall proclaim the praise of the LORD. |
| 7 Ogni pecora di Cedar (cioè quella contrada) si radunerà a te, e li montoni di Nabaiot serviranno a te; sarà offerta sopra lo placabile altare mio, e io glorificherò la casa della mia maestade. | 7 All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered to you, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you; they shall come up with acceptance on my altar, and I will glorify my glorious house. |
| 8 Chi sono costoro, che volano come nuvole, e volano come fanno i colombi alle loro fenestre? | 8 Who are these that fly like a cloud, and like doves to their windows? |
| 9 Le isole aspettano me, e le navi del mare nello principio, per adducere i tuoi figliuoli dalla lunga; (e porteranno con loro) lo loro argento e lo loro oro al nome del tuo Iddio, e al santo d'Israel lo quale darà gloria a te. | 9 For the coastlands shall wait for me, the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from far, their silver and gold with them, for the name of the LORD your God, and for the Holy One of Israel, because he has glorified you. |
| 10 E i figliuoli de' peregrini edificheranno le tue mura, e li loro re serviranno a te; però ch' io percossi te nella mia indignazione, e hoe avuto misericordia di te nella mia riconciliazione. | 10 Foreigners shall build up your walls, and their kings shall minister to you; for in my wrath I smote you, but in my favor I have had mercy on you. |
| 11 E le tue porte saranno aperte sempre; e non si chiuderanno nè di dì nè di notte, acciò che la fortezza delle genti sia apportata a te, e sianti menati li loro re. | 11 Your gates shall be open continually; day and night they shall not be shut; that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations, with their kings led in procession. |
| 12 E la gente e li reami, che non serviranno a te, periranno; e le genti saranno guaste per li sbandeggiamenti. | 12 For the nation and kingdom that will not serve you shall perish; those nations shall be utterly laid waste. |
| 13 La gloria dello Libano verrà a te; l'abete e lo bosso e lo pino insieme si porteranno ad adornare lo luogo della mia santificazione; e glorificherò lo luogo delli miei piedi. | 13 The glory of Lebanon shall come to you, the cypress, the plane, and the pine, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious. |
| 14 Li loro figliuoli verranno a te inchinati, li quali adumiliarono te; e adoreranno le vestigie dei tuoi piedi tutti quelli i quali biasimavano te; e chiamaranno te cittade del Signore santo d' Israel. | 14 The sons of those who oppressed you shall come bending low to you; and all who despised you shall bow down at your feet; they shall call you the City of the LORD, the Zion of the Holy One of Israel. |
| 15 Perciò che fosti abbandonata, e avuta in odio, e non era chi passasse per te, io porrò te nella superbia (cioè nell' altezza) de' secoli, e allegrezza in ogni generazione. | 15 Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, with no one passing through, I will make you majestic for ever, a joy from age to age. |
| 16 E succhierai lo latte delle genti, e sarai lattata colle poppe de' re; e saprai ch' io sono lo Signore, e sono lo tuo redentore, Iddio di Iacob. | 16 You shall suck the milk of nations, you shall suck the breast of kings; and you shall know that I, the LORD, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob. |
| 17 Io porterò oro per metallo, e per ferro porterò argento, e per legno porterò bronzo, e per pietre porterò lo ferro; e porrò la pace per tua visitazione, e li tuoi preposti giustizia. | 17 Instead of bronze I will bring gold, and instead of iron I will bring silver; instead of wood, bronze, instead of stones, iron. I will make your overseers peace and your taskmasters righteousness. |
| 18 Però non si dirà più, che sia malvagitade nella tua terra, nè guastamento nè altra persecuzione nelli tuoi termini; e la salute occuperà le tue mura, e la lode (t' aprirà) le tue porte. | 18 Violence shall no more be heard in your land, devastation or destruction within your borders; you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise. |
| 19 Non sarà a te più sole che illuminerà lo dì, nè lo splendore della luna illuminerà te; ma lo Signore sarà tua luce in sempiterno, e lo tuo Iddio sarà la tua gloria. | 19 The sun shall be no more your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you by night; but the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. |
| 20 E lo tuo sole non tramonterà più, e la tua luna non mancherà; però che lo Signore sarà tua luce in sempiterno, e li dì del pianto tuo si compiranno. | 20 Your sun shall no more go down, nor your moon withdraw itself; for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your days of mourning shall be ended. |
| 21 E lo tuo populo sì sono tutti li giusti, e loro erediteranno la terra in perpetuo; lo ramo della mia piantagione sì fu opera. della mia mano per dare gloria. | 21 Your people shall all be righteous; they shall possess the land for ever, the shoot of my planting, the work of my hands, that I might be glorified. |
| 22 Lo minimo n' averae mille, e lo piccolo sarà come gente fortissima; io sono lo Signore nel suo tempo, e farò questo subitamente. | 22 The least one shall become a clan, and the smallest one a mighty nation; I am the LORD; in its time I will hasten it. |
