Psalmi 97

NOVA VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Dominus regnavit! Exsultet terra, laetentur insulae multae.	1 Yahweh is king! Let earth rejoice, the many isles be glad!
2 Nubes et caligo in circuitu eius, iustitia et iudicium firmamentum sedis eius.	2 Cloud, black cloud enfolds him, saving justice and judgement the foundations of his throne.
3 Ignis ante ipsum praecedet et inflammabit in circuitu inimicos eius.	3 Fire goes before him, sets ablaze his enemies al around;
4 Illustrarunt fulgura eius orbem terrae: vidit et contremuit terra.	4 his lightning-flashes light up the world, the earth sees it and quakes.
5 Montes sicut cera fluxerunt a facie Domini, a facie Domini omnis terra.	5 The mountains melt like wax, before the Lord of all the earth.
6 Annuntiaverunt caeli iustitiam eius, et viderunt omnes populi gloriam eius.	6 The heavens proclaim his saving justice, all nations see his glory.
7 Confundantur omnes, qui adorant sculptilia, et qui gloriantur in simulacris suis. Adorate eum, omnes angeli eius.	7 Shame on all who serve images, who pride themselves on their idols; bow down to him, al you gods!
8 Audivit et laetata est Sion, et exsultaverunt filiae Iudae propter iudicia tua, Domine.	8 Zion hears and is glad, the daughters of Judah exult, because of your judgements, Yahweh.
9 Quoniam tu Dominus, Altissimus super omnem terram, nimis exaltatus es super omnes deos.	9 For you are Yahweh, Most High over al the earth, far transcending al gods.
10 Qui diligitis Dominum, odite malum; custodit ipse animas sanctorum suorum, de manu peccatoris liberabit eos.	10 Yahweh loves those who hate evil, he keeps safe his faithful, rescues them from the clutches of thewicked.
11 Lux orta est iusto, et rectis corde laetitia.	11 Light dawns for the upright, and joy for honest hearts.
12 Laetamini, iusti, in Domino et confitemini memoriae sanctitatis eius.	12 Rejoice in Yahweh, you who are upright, praise his unforgettable holiness.
