1 Canto de peregrinación.

En mi aflicción invoqué al Señor,

y él me respondió.

1 A Canticle in steps. I have lifted up my eyes to the mountains; from thence help will come to me.
2 ¡Líbrame, Señor, de los labios mentirosos

y de la lengua traicionera!

2 My help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
3 ¿Con qué te castigará el Señor,

lengua traicionera?

3 May he not allow your foot to be moved, and may he not slumber, who guards you.
4 Con flechas afiladas de guerrero

y con brasas de retama.

4 Behold, he who guards Israel will neither sleep, nor slumber.
5 ¡Ay de mí, que estoy desterrado en Mésec,

y vivo en los campamentos de Quedar!

5 The Lord is your keeper, the Lord is your protection, above your right hand.
6 Mucho tiempo he convivido

con los que odian la paz.

7 Cuando yo hablo de paz,
