1 В девятый год Седекии, царя Иудейского, в десятый месяц, пришел Навуходоносор, царь Вавилонский, со всем войском своим к Иерусалиму, и обложили его.	1 In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylonadvanced on Jerusalem with his entire army, and they laid siege to it.
2 А в одиннадцатый год Седекии, в четвертый месяц, в девятый день месяца город был взят.	2 In the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, a breach was made in the city wall.
3 И вошли [в него] все князья царя Вавилонского, и расположились в средних воротах, Нергал-Шарецер, Самгар-Нево, Сарсехим, начальник евнухов, Нергал-Шарецер, начальник магов, и все остальные князья царя Вавилонского.	3 The king of Babylon's officials, al having made their entry, took their seats in the Middle Gate: Nergal-Sharezer, Samgar-Nebo, Sar-Sechim a high dignitary of state, Nergal-Sharezer the chief astrologer, and al theking of Babylon's other officials . . .
4 Когда Седекия, царь Иудейский, и все военные люди увидели их, --побежали, и ночью вышли из города через царский сад в ворота между двумя стенами и пошли по дороге равнины.	4 On seeing them, Zedekiah king of Judah and al the fighting men fled, leaving the city under cover ofdark, by way of the king's garden through the gate between the two walls, and made their way towards theArabah.
5 Но войско Халдейское погналось за ними; и настигли Седекию на равнинах Иерихонских; и взяли его и отвели к Навуходоносору, царю Вавилонскому, в Ривлу, в землю Емаф, где он произнес суд над ним.	5 But the Chaldaean troops pursued them and caught up with Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho. Theycaptured him and took him to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon at Riblah in the territory of Hamath, where hepassed sentence on him.
6 И заколол царь Вавилонский сыновей Седекии в Ривле перед его глазами, и всех вельмож Иудейских заколол царь Вавилонский;	6 The king of Babylon had Zedekiah's sons slaughtered before his eyes at Riblah; the king of Babylonalso had al the leading men of Judah put to death.
7 а Седекии выколол глаза и заковал его в оковы, чтобы отвести его в Вавилон.	7 He then put out Zedekiah's eyes and, loading him with chains, carried him off to Babylon.
8 Дом царя и домы народа сожгли Халдеи огнем, и стены Иерусалима разрушили.	8 The Chaldaeans burnt down the royal palace and the private houses, and demolished the wal s ofJerusalem.
9 А остаток народа, остававшийся в городе, и перебежчиков, которые перешли к нему, и прочий оставшийся народ Навузардан, начальник телохранителей, переселил в Вавилон.	9 Nebuzaradan commander of the guard deported the remainder of the population left behind in the city,the deserters who had gone over to him, and the rest of the artisans to Babylon.
10 Бедных же из народа, которые ничего не имели, Навузардан, начальник телохранителей, оставил в Иудейской земле и дал им тогда же виноградники и поля.	10 But Nebuzaradan commander of the guard left some of the poor people behind in the country ofJudah, those who had nothing, at the same time giving them vineyards and fields.
11 А о Иеремии Навуходоносор, царь Вавилонский, дал такое повеление Навузардану, начальнику телохранителей:	11 With regard to Jeremiah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had given the fol owing orders toNebuzaradan, commander of the guard,
12 возьми его и имей его во внимании, и не делай ему ничего худого, но поступай с ним так, как он скажет тебе.	12 'Take him, look after him; do him no harm, but treat him as he may ask you.'
13 И послал Навузардан, начальник телохранителей, и Навузазван, начальник евнухов, и Нергал-Шарецер, начальник магов, и все князья царя Вавилонского	13 He entrusted this mission to (Nebuzaradan commander of the guard,) Nebushazban the high dignitaryof state, Nergal-Sharezer the chief astrologer and al the king of Babylon's other officials.
14 послали и взяли Иеремию со двора стражи, и поручили его Годолии, сыну Ахикама, сына Сафанова, отвести его домой. И он остался жить среди народа.	14 These despatched men to take Jeremiah from the Court of the Guard and turned him over toGedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan for safe conduct home. So he remained among the people.
15 К Иеремии, когда он еще содержался во дворе темничном, было слово Господне:	15 While Jeremiah was confined in the Court of the Guard, the word of Yahweh came to him as follows,
16 иди, скажи Авдемелеху Ефиоплянину: так говорит Господь Саваоф, Бог Израилев: вот, Я исполню слова Мои о городе сем во зло, а не в добро ему, и они сбудутся в тот день перед глазами твоими;	16 'Go and say to Ebed-Melech the Cushite, "Yahweh, God of Israel says this: Look, I am about toperform my words about this city for its ruin and not for its prosperity. That day they will come true before youreyes.
17 но тебя Я избавлю в тот день, говорит Господь, и не будешь предан в руки людей, которых ты боишься.	17 But I shal rescue you that day, Yahweh declares, and you will not be handed over to the hands of themen you fear.
18 Я избавлю тебя, и ты не падешь от меча, и душа твоя останется у тебя вместо добычи, потому что ты на Меня возложил упование, сказал Господь.	18 Yes, I shal certainly rescue you: you wil not fall to the sword; you wil escape with your life, becauseyou have put your trust in me, Yahweh declares."
