| 1 I preti e i leviti, e tutti quelli che sono della loro schiatta, non avranno parte nè eredità insieme coll'altro Israel (cioè coll'altre schiatte); imperciò che mangeranno i sacrificii e l'offerte di Dio. | 1 "The Levitical priests, that is, all the tribe of Levi, shall have no portion or inheritance with Israel; they shall eat the offerings by fire to the LORD, and his rightful dues. |
| 2 E niuna altra cosa piglino più, della possessione de' loro fratelli; imperochè Iddio si è solo la loro ereditade, siccome egli (disse e) parlò loro. | 2 They shall have no inheritance among their brethren; the LORD is their inheritance, as he promised them. |
| 3 E questo sarà il giudicio (e la sorte) de' preti dal popolo, e da coloro che offeriranno bue o pecora: daranno al prete la spalla, il ventre, | 3 And this shall be the priests' due from the people, from those offering a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep: they shall give to the priest the shoulder and the two cheeks and the stomach. |
| 4 le prime cose del grano e del vino e dell' olio, e la parte delle lane le quali si tondono dalle pecore. | 4 The first fruits of your grain, of your wine and of your oil, and the first of the fleece of your sheep, you shall give him. |
| 5 Imperciò che Iddio, tuo Signore, sì l'hae eletto di tutte quante le schiatte tue, acciò ch' egli (stia e) serva al nome di Dio tuo Signore, e i suoi figliuoli, sempremai. | 5 For the LORD your God has chosen him out of all your tribes, to stand and minister in the name of the LORD, him and his sons for ever. |
| 6 Se uno della schiatta di Levi uscirà d'una delle cittadi tue tra tutti quanti i figliuoli d'Israel, dove egli abita, e vorrà venire, desiderando il luogo il quale Iddio Signore eleggerà, | 6 "And if a Levite comes from any of your towns out of all Israel, where he lives--and he may come when he desires--to the place which the LORD will choose, |
| 7 egli sì (servirà e) ministrerà nel nome di Dio Signore, come gli altri suoi fratelli della schiatta di Levi (cioè de' preti), quelli che offerranno in quel tempo (della schiatta di preti) dinanzi da Dio Signore. | 7 then he may minister in the name of the LORD his God, like all his fellow-Levites who stand to minister there before the LORD. |
| 8 ? piglierà (e avrà) la parte sua de' cibi (e delle vivande), siccom'è di tutti gli altri, fuori di quello il quale nella sua cittade si conviene, perchè succede al padre nella ereditade (questo non avrà quivi). | 8 They shall have equal portions to eat, besides what he receives from the sale of his patrimony. |
| 9 E quando sarai entrato nella terra, la quale Iddio tuo Signore ti darà, guarda che tu non vogli (andare drieto nè) seguitare le abbominazioni di quelle genti (che ti sono dintorno). | 9 "When you come into the land which the LORD your God gives you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations. |
| 10 E non si trovi persona alcuna tra voi, la quale meni agl'indovini il suo figliuolo o la sua figliuola, (per fare sacrificio) per loro fuoco mettendogli (e ardendogli), nè che trovi incantatori, nè che vada dietro a sogni o ad indovinatori (a grida d'uccelli); e guarda che non sia alcuno, che faccia male, | 10 There shall not be found among you any one who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, any one who practices divination, a soothsayer, or an augur, or a sorcerer, |
| 11 o che faccia incantazioni, o che vada ad avere consiglio ad alcuno che facesse indovinamento, nè con alcuno indovinatore, e cerchi la verità dai morti. | 11 or a charmer, or a medium, or a wizard, or a necromancer. |
| 12 Tutte quante queste cose Iddio 'avrà (in odio e) in abbominazione; e per queste cose scellerate (che fanno queste generazioni di genti) Iddio sì gli (ucciderà e) ispegnerà, quando incomincerai ad entrare a loro. | 12 For whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD; and because of these abominable practices the LORD your God is driving them out before you. |
| 13 Tu sarai tutto perfetto, e sanza alcuna macula, dinanzi a Dio tuo Signore. | 13 You shall be blameless before the LORD your God. |
| 14 Queste genti, la cui terra voi possederete, (vanno dietro e) odono questi indovini e questi incan tatori ( ch' io t'hoe detto); ma tu sei ordinato e acconcio da Dio, tuo Signore, per altro modo. | 14 For these nations, which you are about to dispossess, give heed to soothsayers and to diviners; but as for you, the LORD your God has not allowed you so to do. |
| 15 Iddio tuo Signore ti darà il profeta della gente tua e de' tuoi fratelli, come sono io; udirai lui, | 15 "The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brethren--him you shall heed-- |
| 16 come tu addomandasti Iddio tuo Signore in Oreb, quando tutta la gente (e il popolo) si raunò, e dicesti: oggi mai non voglio più udire la voce di Dio Signore mio, e questo fuoco così grande non voglio più vedere, acciò ch' io non muoia. | 16 just as you desired of the LORD your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, when you said, 'Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, or see this great fire any more, lest I die.' |
| 17 E Iddio sì mi disse: ogni cosa hanno detto bene. | 17 And the LORD said to me, 'They have rightly said all that they have spoken. |
| 18 Ecco ch' io susciterò (e darò) loro profeta dei loro fratelli, somigliante a te; e sì gli porrò in bocca le mie parole, ed egli parlerà loro tutte quelle cose le quali io gli comanderò. | 18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brethren; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. |
| 19 Ma chi non vorrà udire colui che parlerà nel mio nome (cioè in mio iscambio), io solo ne farò la vendetta (e sarò punitore e castigatore). | 19 And whoever will not give heed to my words which he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him. |
| 20 Ma quello profeta, il quale per arroganza sarà rio, e vorrà (profetare e) favellare in mio nome (e in mio iscambio) quelle cose le quali io non ho (detto nè) comandato ch' egli il dica, ovvero che parla in nome degli altri idii, sarà morto. | 20 But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.' |
| 21 Ma se ti verrà pensiero, e dirai: come posso io intendere quella parola che Iddio non ha detta (cioè nel nome di Dio o non)? | 21 And if you say in your heart, 'How may we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?-- |
| 22 sappia che questo n'avrai per segno (di ciò): e chi abbia profetato nel nome di Dio e predetto,non verrà quello che egli (profeta e) dice, sappia (però) che Iddio non disse quello (che ti dice), ma per la superbia del suo animo egli finse quella profezia; e però non avrai paura di lui. | 22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word which the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously, you need not be afraid of him. |
