Isaia 58

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Grida, e non ristare; ed esalta la tua voce quasi come fosse una tromba, e annuncia al popolo mio le loro fellonie, e alla casa di Iacob lo loro peccato.	1 Shout for all you are worth, do not hold back, raise your voice like a trumpet. To my people proclaimtheir rebel ious acts, to the House of Jacob, their sins.
2 Però che loro (addomandano e) cercano me tutto dì, e vogliono sapere le mie vie, quasi come gente la quale abbia fatto giustizia, e che non abbia abbandonato lo giudicio del suo Iddio; però che li giudicii e le giustizie fanno preghiera a me, e voglionsi appressare a Dio.	2 They seek for me day after day, they long to know my ways, like a nation that has acted uprightly andnot forsaken the law of its God. They ask me for laws that are upright, they long to be near God:
3 Or perchè fu questo, che noi digiunammo, e tu non riguardasti; e adumiliammo le nostre anime, e tu non sapesti? Ecco che nel dì del vostro digiuno si trova la vostra volontade, e voi richiedete tutti li vostri debitori.	3 'Why have we fasted, if you do not see, why mortify ourselves if you never notice?' Look, you seek yourown pleasure on your fastdays and you exploit al your workmen;
4 Ecco che voi digiunate per fare lite e contenzione, e percotete colla mano malvagiamente. Adunque non vogliate digiunare più come voi avete digiunato insino a questo dì (cioè insino a questo tempo), sì che lo vostro rumore (non) sia udito nell'altezza del cielo.	4 look, the only purpose of your fasting is to quarrel and squabble and strike viciously with your fist.Fasting like yours today wil never make your voice heard on high.
5 Or così fatto è lo digiuno il quale io hoe eletto, cioè che l'uomo affligga per tutto lo dì l'anima sua? or (non) si vuole torcere lo suo capo come una coreggia, e vestirsi di sacco, e mettersi in capo la cenere? or (non) chiamerai tu questo, digiuno e dì (molto) accettabile a Dio?	5 Is that the sort of fast that pleases me, a day when a person inflicts pain on himself? Hanging yourhead like a reed, spreading out sackcloth and ashes? Is that what you cal fasting, a day acceptable to Yahweh?
6 Or non è questo, che io hoe eletto, maggior digiuno? Sciogli li legami della (tua) malvagitade, e sciogli li fascicoli i quali abbattono (te); lascia coloro liberi i quali sono tutti rotti, e rompi ogni (tuo) carico.	6 Is not this the sort of fast that pleases me: to break unjust fetters, to undo the thongs of the yoke. to letthe oppressed go free, and to break al yokes?
7 Rompi lo pane allo affamato, e mena nella tua casa i bisognosi e li sviati; quando vedi lo ignudo, ricoprilo, e non spregiare la tua carne.	7 Is it not sharing your food with the hungry, and sheltering the homeless poor; if you see someonelacking clothes, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own kin?
8 Allora uscirà fuori lo tuo lume, come è bella la mattina, e la tua sanitade nascerà più tosto, e la tua giustizia andrà innanzi alla tua faccia, e la gloria di Dio raccoglierà te.	8 Then your light wil blaze out like the dawn and your wound be quickly healed over. Saving justice wilgo ahead of you and Yahweh's glory come behind you.
9 Allora tu chiamerai, e lo Signore esaudirà te; allora tu griderai, ed egli dirae: io sono presente, (però ch' io sono tuo misericordioso Iddio), se tu averai tolto del mezzo di te la catena, e rimarra'ti di distendere lo dito, e parlare quello che non giova.	9 Then you will cry for help and Yahweh wil answer; you will cal and he will say, 'I am here.' If you doaway with the yoke, the clenched fist and malicious words,
10 Conciosia cosa che tu abbia data l'anima al povero affamato, e averai riempiuta l'anima afflitta, la tua luce nascerà nelle tenebre, e le tue tenebre saranno come nello mezzo dì.	10 if you deprive yourself for the hungry and satisfy the needs of the afflicted, your light wil rise in thedarkness, and your darkest hour wil be like noon.
11 E lo Signore (Iddio tuo) darà lo riposo a te sempre, ed empierà di splendore la tua anima, libererà le tue ossa; e sarai quasi come un orto adacquato, e come fonte d' acque, le cui acque non vengono meno.	11 Yahweh will always guide you, wil satisfy your needs in the scorched land; he wil give strength toyour bones and you wil be like a watered garden, like a flowing spring whose waters never run dry.
12 E in te saranno edificati li deserti de' populi; e risusciterai li fondamenti delle generazioni; e sarai chiamato edificatore delle siepi, e rivolgente le vie (delle malvagitadi) in quiete.	12 Your ancient ruins wil be rebuilt; you will build on age -- old foundations. You wil be cal ed 'Breach-mender', 'Restorer of streets to be lived in'.
13 Se tu rivolgerai lo tuo piede dal sabbato, e che tu facci la tua volontade nello mio santo dì, e averai chiamato lo sabbato delicato, e lo santo di Dio glorioso, e che tu abbi dato gloria a lui, mentre che tu non fai le tue vie, e non si trova la tua volontà (nel dì mio santo), che tu parli pure una parola;	13 If you refrain from breaking the Sabbath, from taking your own pleasure on my holy day, if you cal the Sabbath 'Delightful', and the day sacred to Yahweh 'Honourable', if you honour it by abstaining from travel, fromseeking your own pleasure and from too much talk,
14 allora tu averai diletto in Dio, e leverotti in alto sopra l'altezza della terra, e darò per cibo a te la ereditade di Iacob tuo padre; e questo parlò (e disse) la bocca di Dio.	14 then you wil find true happiness in Yahweh, and I shal lead you in triumph over the heights of theland. I shall feed you on the heritage of your father Jacob, for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken.
