BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Alleluia Alleluia.Confessate al Signore, per ch' egli è buono; però che sempre sarà la misericordia sua.	1 Al eluia! Give thanks to Yahweh, cal on his name, proclaim his deeds to the peoples!
2 Chi potrebbe dire le potenze sue, farà a sapere le sue lodi?	2 Sing to him, make music for him, recount all his wonders!
3 Beati sono quelli che osservano il giudicio, e fanno giustizia in ogni tempo.	3 Glory in his holy name, let the hearts that seek Yahweh rejoice!
4 Signore, arricòrdati di noi, nella benevolenza del tuo popolo; vìsitane nel salutare tuo,	4 Seek Yahweh and his strength, tirelessly seek his presence!
5 a vederlo nella bontà degli eletti tuoi, a rallegrarlo nella letizia della gente tua; acciò sii lodato con la eredità tua.	5 Remember the marvels he has done, his wonders, the judgements he has spoken.
6 Abbiamo peccato coi nostri padri, operato ingiustamente, fatta la iniquità.	6 Stock of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob whom he chose!
7 Li padri nostri in Egitto non intesero le tue maraviglie; non si hanno arricordato della molta tua misericordia. E ascendenti nel mare il provocorono a ira, nel mare rosso.	7 He is Yahweh our God, his judgements touch the whole world.
8 E feceli salvi per il nome suo, per manifestare la potenza sua.	8 He remembers his covenant for ever, the promise he laid down for a thousand generations,
9 E riprese il mare rosso, e seccossi; e menolli per il fondo secco nel deserto.	9 which he concluded with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.
10 E salvolli dalla mano delli odianti; e reccattolli dalla mano delli nemici.	10 He established it as a statute for Jacob, an everlasting covenant with Israel,
11 E l'acqua coperse gli loro tribulanti; uno solo di loro non rimase.	11 saying, 'To you I give a land, Canaan, your allotted birthright.'
12 E credettero alle sue parole; e lodarono la lode sua.	12 When they were insignificant in numbers, a handful of strangers in the land,
13 Presto fecero, dimenticoronsi delle opere sue; non sostenettero il consiglio suo.	13 wandering from country to country, from one kingdom and nation to another,
14 E desiderorono la concupiscenza nel deserto; e tentorono Iddio nel luogo d'acqua.	14 he al owed no one to oppress them; for their sake he instructed kings,
15 E detteli la loro petizione; e mandò la saturità in loro anime.	15 'Do not touch my anointed ones, to my prophets you may do no harm.'
16 E provocorono ad ira Moisè nelli alloggiamenti, e Aaron santo del Signore.	16 He cal ed down famine on the land, he took away their food supply;
17 Apersesi la terra, e inghiottì Datan; e sopra la congregazione coperse Abiron.	17 he sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, sold as a slave.
18 E ardette il fuoco nella loro sinagoga; la fiamma bruciò li peccatori.	18 So his feet were weighed down with shackles, his neck was put in irons.
19 E fecero il vitello in Oreb; e adororono l' idolo.	19 In due time his prophecy was fulfilled, the word of Yahweh proved him true.
20 E mutorono la sua gloria in similitudine di vitello mangiante il fieno.	20 The king sent orders to release him, the ruler of nations set him free;
21 E dismenticoronsi Iddio che gli fece salvi, che fece le cose grandi in Egitto,	21 he put him in charge of his household, the ruler of al he possessed,
22 maravigliose nella terra di Cam, terribili nel mare rosso.	22 to instruct his princes as he saw fit, to teach his counsel ors wisdom.
23 E disse che gli avrebbe distrutti; se Moisè eletto suo non gli fusse stato a pregare dinanzi al suo cospetto, che removesse l'ira sua a non distruggerli.	23 Then Israel migrated to Egypt, Jacob settled in the country of Ham.
24 Ed ebbero per niente la terra desiderata. Non credettero alla sua parola,	24 He made his people increase in numbers, he gave them more strength than their enemies,
25 e mormororono nelli tabernacoli suoi; non udirono la voce del Signore.	25 whose heart he turned to hate his own people, to double-cross his servants.
26 Egli levò sopra di loro la mano sua, per gittarli in terra nel deserto,	26 He sent his servant Moses, and Aaron, the man of his choice.
27 e per disperdere nelle nazioni luro seme, e destruggerli nelle regioni.	27 They worked there the wonders he commanded, marvels in the country of Ham.
28 E sacrificorono a Beelfegor; e mangiorono li sacrificii de' morti.	28 Darkness he sent, and darkness fel , but that nation defied his orders.
29 E provocoronlo nelle loro invenzioni; e in essi è accresciuta la ruina.	29 He turned their rivers to blood, and kil ed al the fish in them.
30 E stette Finees, e placollo; e cessò la piaga del popolo.	30 Their country was overrun with frogs, even in the royal apartments;
31 E fulli reputato a giustizia, in generazione e generazione insino in sempiterno.	31 at his word came flies, and mosquitoes throughout the country.
32 E provocoronlo in via all' acqua della contraddizione; e per loro turbossi Moisè,	32 He gave them hail as their rain, flames of fire in their land;
33 per che crucciarono il spirito suo. E divise colle sue labbra.	33 he blasted their vine and their fig tree, and shattered the trees of the country.
34 Non distrussero le genti, le quali il Signore a loro disse.	34 At his word came locusts, hoppers beyond al counting;
35 E mescoloronsi tra le genti, e imparorono loro opere,	35 they devoured every green thing in the land, devoured al the produce of the soil.
36 e servittero a' loro idoli; e a quelli è fatto scandalo.	36 He struck al the first-born in their land, the flower of all their manhood;
37 E sacrificorono loro figliuoli e loro figliuole alli demonii.	37 he led Israel out with silver and gold; in their tribes there was none who stumbled.
38 E sparsero il sangue innocente, sangue dei loro figliuoli e figliuole, le quali sacrificorono alli idoli di Canaan. E furono uccisi li uomini nella terra,	38 Egypt was glad at their leaving, for terror of Israel had seized them.
39 la quale fu contaminata nelle loro opere; e fornicorono nelli loro trovamenti.	39 He spread out a cloud to cover them, and fire to light up the night.
40 E fu adirato il Signore di furore sopra il suo popolo; ed ebbe [in] abominazione la sua eredità.	40 They asked and he brought them quails, food from heaven to their hearts' content;
41 E dètteli nelle mani delle genti; e furono suoi signori coloro che li ebbero in odio.	41 he opened a rock, the waters gushed out, and flowed in dry ground as a river.
42 E' loro nemici li tribulorono, e furono abbassati sotto loro mani;	42 Faithful to his sacred promise, given to his servant Abraham,
43 (ma il Signore) spesso li liberò. Ma quelli nel loro consiglio il crucciarono; e furono abbassati nelle loro iniquità.	43 he led out his people with rejoicing, his chosen ones with shouts of joy.
44 E vide quando erano tribulati; e uditte la loro orazione.	44 He gave them the territories of nations, they reaped the fruit of other people's labours,
45 E arricordossi del testamento suo; e si pentì secondo le sue molte misericordie.	45 on condition that they kept his statutes, and remained obedient to his laws.
46 E dètte loro nelle misericordie nel cospetto Idi tutti che li aveano tolti.
47 Fanne salvi, Signore Iddio nostro; e raunane delle nazioni. E confessaremo il tuo santo nome; e ci rallegraremo nella lode tua.
48 Benedetto è il Signore Iddio d'Israel dal principio insino alla fine; e dirà ogni popolo: fia fia.
