BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - Gesù disse ancora a' suoi discepoli: «È impossibile che non succedano scandali; ma guai a colui per colpa del quale succedono!	1 He said to his disciples, 'Causes of fal ing are sure to come, but alas for the one through whom theyoccur!
2 Sarebbe meglio per lui che gli fosse messa una macina da mulino al collo e fosse gettato in mare, piuttosto che scandalizzare uno di questi pargoli.	2 It would be better for such a person to be thrown into the sea with a mil stone round the neck than tobe the downfal of a single one of these little ones.
3 Badate a voi stessi! Se tuo fratello ha commesso un fallo, riprendilo; e se si pente, perdonagli.	3 Keep watch on yourselves! 'If your brother does something wrong, rebuke him and, if he is sorry,forgive him.
4 E se avrà peccato contro di te sette volte al giorno, e sette volte al giorno ritorna a te, dicendo: - Me ne pento, - tu perdonagli».	4 And if he wrongs you seven times a day and seven times comes back to you and says, "I am sorry,"you must forgive him.'
5 Gli Apostoli dissero al Signore: «Accresci a noi la fede!».	5 The apostles said to the Lord, 'Increase our faith.'
6 Il Signore rispose: «Se voi aveste tanta fede quanto un granello di senapa, potreste dire a questa pianta di moro: - Sràdicati e tràpiantati in mare, - ed essa vi ubbidirebbe.	6 The Lord replied, 'If you had faith like a mustard seed you could say to this mulberry tree, "Be uprootedand planted in the sea," and it would obey you.
7 Chi di voi, avendo un servo per arare o per condurre al pascolo l'armento, gli dice, quando ritorna dai campi: - Vien qua presto e mettiti a tavola -?	7 'Which of you, with a servant ploughing or minding sheep, would say to him when he returned from thefields, "Come and have your meal at once"?
8 Non gli dirà invece: - Preparami da cena e mettiti a servirmi, finchè io abbia mangiato e bevuto, e poi mangerai e berrai tu pure -?	8 Would he not be more likely to say, "Get my supper ready; fasten your belt and wait on me while I eatand drink. You yourself can eat and drink afterwards"?
9 Si terrà egli forse obbligato a quel servo, perchè ha fatto le cose che gli sono state comandate?	9 Must he be grateful to the servant for doing what he was told?
10 Io non lo penso. Così anche voi, quando avrete fatto tutto quello che vi è comandato, dite: -Siamo servi inutili, abbiamo fatto quanto dovevamo fare».	10 So with you: when you have done al you have been told to do, say, "We are useless servants: wehave done no more than our duty." '
11 Nell'andare a Gerusalemme, Gesù passava attraverso la Samaria e la Galilea,	11 Now it happened that on the way to Jerusalem he was travel ing in the borderlands of Samaria andGalilee.
12 e mentre stava per entrare in un villaggio, gli vennero incontro dieci uomini lebbrosi, che, fermatisi a una certa distanza,	12 As he entered one of the villages, ten men suffering from a virulent skin-disease came to meet him.They stood some way off
13 esclamarono a voce alta: «Gesù, maestro, abbi pietà di noi!».	13 and cal ed to him, 'Jesus! Master! Take pity on us.'
14 Vedutili, disse loro: «Andate a mostrarvi ai sacerdoti». E mentre se ne andavano furon guariti.	14 When he saw them he said, 'Go and show yourselves to the priests.' Now as they were going awaythey were cleansed.
15 Un di loro, vedendo che era guarito, tornò indietro, glorificando Dio a voce alta,	15 Finding himself cured, one of them turned back praising God at the top of his voice
16 e prostratosi ai suoi piedi, lo ringraziò. E costui era un Samaritano.	16 and threw himself prostrate at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. The man was a Samaritan.
17 Allora Gesù prese a dire: «Non sono stati guariti tutt'e dieci? E dove sono gli altri nove?	17 This led Jesus to say, 'Were not al ten made clean? The other nine, where are they?
18 Non s'è trovato chi tornasse a rendere gloria a Dio, se non questo straniero?».	18 It seems that no one has come back to give praise to God, except this foreigner.'
19 E gli disse: «Alzati e va'; la tua fede ti ha salvato».	19 And he said to the man, 'Stand up and go on your way. Your faith has saved you.'
20 Poi, interrogato dai Farisei quando verrebbe il regno di Dio, Gesù rispose loro: «Il regno di Dio non viene in modo da attirare gli sguardi.	20 Asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was to come, he gave them this answer, 'Thecoming of the kingdom of God does not admit of observation
21 Non si dirà: - Eccolo qui, o eccolo là -; perchè, ecco, il regno di Dio è dentro di voi».	21 and there will be no one to say, "Look, it is here! Look, it is there!" For look, the kingdom of God isamong you.'
22 Disse ancora a' suoi discepoli: «Verrà tempo in cui desidererete di vedere uno solo dei giorni del Figliuol dell'uomo, e non lo vedrete.	22 He said to the disciples, 'A time wil come when you wil long to see one of the days of the Son ofman and wil not see it.
23 E vi diranno: - Eccolo qua o eccolo là. - Non andate e non mettetevi a seguirli.	23 They will say to you, "Look, it is there!" or, "Look, it is here!" Make no move; do not set off in pursuit;
24 Come infatti il lampo, quando balena, sfolgora da un'estremità del cielo, così sarà del Figliuol dell'uomo nel suo giorno.	24 for as the lightning flashing from one part of heaven lights up the other, so wil be the Son of manwhen his Day comes.
25 Ma prima è necessario ch'egli soffra molte cose e sia rigettato da questa generazione.	25 But first he is destined to suffer grievously and be rejected by this generation.
26 E come avvenne ai giorni di Noè, così avverrà pure ai giorni del Figliuol dell'uomo.	26 'As it was in Noah's day, so wil it also be in the days of the Son of man.
27 Gli uomini allora mangiavano e bevevano, prendevan moglie e prendevan marito fino al giorno in cui Noè entrò nell'arca; e venne il diluvio e li fece perire tutti.	27 People were eating and drinking, marrying wives and husbands, right up to the day Noah went intothe ark, and the Flood came and destroyed them all.
28 Così pure accadde ai giorni di Lot, si mangiava e si beveva; si comprava e si vendeva; si piantava e si edificava;	28 It wil be the same as it was in Lot's day: people were eating and drinking, buying and selling, plantingand building,
29 ma nel giorno in cui Lot uscì di Sodoma cadde dal cielo una pioggia di fuoco e di zolfo che li fece morir tutti.	29 but the day Lot left Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and it destroyed them all.
30 Lo stesso avverrà nel giorno in cui il Figliuol dell'uomo si manifesterà.	30 It wil be the same when the day comes for the Son of man to be revealed.
31 In quel giorno chi sarà sulla terrazza della casa e avrà la sua roba in casa, non scenda a prenderla; parimenti chi sarà nel campo non torni indietro.	31 'When that Day comes, no one on the housetop, with his possessions in the house, must come downto col ect them, nor must anyone in the fields turn back.
32 Ricordatevi della moglie di Lot.	32 Remember Lot's wife.
33 Chi cercherà di salvar la sua vita, la perderà; ma chi la perderà, la custodirà.	33 Anyone who tries to preserve his life wil lose it; and anyone who loses it wil keep it safe.
34 Io ve lo dico: In quella notte due saranno in un letto; l'uno sarà preso e l'altro lasciato.	34 I tel you, on that night, when two are in one bed, one wil be taken, the other left;
35 Due donne macineranno insieme: una sarà presa e l'altra lasciata; due uomini saranno nel campo, uno sarà preso e l'altro lasciato».	35 when two women are grinding corn together, one wil be taken, the other left.'
36 I discepoli domandarono: «Dove, Signore?».	36
37 Egli rispose: «Dove sarà il corpo, quivi si raduneranno le aquile».	37 The disciples spoke up and asked, 'Where, Lord?' He said, 'Where the body is, there too will thevultures gather.'
