Proverbs 11

1 A deceitful scale is an abomination with the Lord, and a fair weighing is his will.	1 Le bilance false sono cosa abbominevole al Signore; Ma il peso giusto gli è cosa grata
2 Wherever arrogance may be, there too is insult. But wherever humility is, there too is wisdom.	2 Venuta la superbia, viene l’ignominia; Ma la sapienza è con gli umili
3 The simplicity of the just shall direct them, and the rebellion of the perverse will devastate them.	3 L’integrità degli uomini diritti li conduce; Ma la perversità de’ disleali di distrugge
4 Wealth will not profit in the day of vengeance. But justice shall liberate from death.	4 Le ricchezze non gioveranno al giorno dell’indegnazione; Ma la giustizia riscoterà da morte
5 The justice of the simple shall direct his way. And the impious will fall in his impiety.	5 La giustizia dell’uomo intiero addirizza la via di esso; Ma l’empio caderà per la sua empietà.
6 The justice of the upright shall free them. And the iniquitous will be seized by their own treachery.	6 La giustizia degli uomini diritti li riscoterà; Ma i disleali saranno presi per la lor propria malizia
7 When the impious man is dead, there will no longer be any hope. And the expectation of the anxious will perish.	7 Quando l’uomo empio muore, la sua aspettazione perisce; E la speranza ch’egli aveva concepita delle sue forze è perduta
8 The just one is freed from anguish. And the impious one will be handed over instead of him.	8 Il giusto è tratto fuor di distretta; Ma l’empio viene in luogo suo
9 The pretender deceives his friend by mouth. But the just shall be freed by knowledge.	9 L’ipocrito corrompe il suo prossimo con la sua bocca; Ma i giusti ne son liberati per conoscimento
10 In the good of the just, the city shall exult. And in the perdition of the impious, there shall be praise.	10 La città festeggia del bene de’ giusti; Ma vi è giubilo quando gli empi periscono.
11 By the blessing of the just, the city shall be exalted. And by the mouth of the impious, it will be subverted.	11 La città è innalzata per la benedizione degli uomini diritti; Ma è sovvertita per la bocca degli empi
12 Whoever despises his friend is destitute in heart. But the prudent man will remain silent.	12 Chi sprezza il suo prossimo è privo di senno; Ma l’uomo prudente tace.
13 Whoever walks dishonestly reveals secrets. But whoever is of a faithful soul conceals what is confided by a friend.	13 Colui che va sparlando palesa il segreto; Ma chi è leale di spirito cela la cosa
14 Where there is no governor, the people shall fall. But where there is much counsel, well-being shall be.	14 Il popolo cade in ruina dove non son consigli; Ma vi è salute in moltitudine di consiglieri
15 He will be afflicted with evil, who provides a guarantee for an outsider. But whoever is wary of traps shall be secure.	15 L’uomo certamente sofferirà del male, se fa sicurtà per lo strano; Ma chi odia i mallevadori è sicuro
16 A gracious woman shall discover glory. And the robust will have wealth.	16 La donna graziosa otterrà gloria, Come i possenti ottengono ricchezze
17 A merciful man benefits his own soul. But whoever is cruel casts out even his close relatives.	17 L’uomo benigno fa bene a sè stesso; Ma il crudele conturba la sua propria carne
18 The impious does work with inconstancy. But for the sower of justice, there is the reward of faithfulness.	18 L’empio fa un’opera fallace; Ma vi è un premio sicuro per colui che semina giustizia
19 Clemency prepares life. And the pursuit of evils prepares death.	19 Così è la giustizia a vita, Come chi procaccia il male lo procaccia alla sua morte
20 A depraved heart is abominable to the Lord. And his will is with those who walk in simplicity.	20 I perversi di cuore sono un abbominio al Signore; Ma quelli che sono intieri di via son ciò che gli è grato
21 Hand in hand, the evil shall not be innocent. But the offspring of the just shall be saved.	21 Il malvagio d’ora in ora non resterà impunito; Ma la progenie de’ giusti scamperà
22 A beautiful and senseless woman is like a gold ring in the snout of a swine.	22 Una donna bella, ma scema di senno, È un monile d’oro nel grifo d’un porco
23 The desire of the just is entirely good. The anticipation of the impious is fury.	23 Il desiderio de’ giusti non è altro che bene; Ma la speranza degli empi è indegnazione
24 Some distribute their own goods, and they become wealthier. Others seize what is not their own, and they are always in need.	24 Vi è tale che spande, e pur vie più diventa ricco; E tale che risparmia oltre al diritto, e pur ne diventa sempre più povero
25 The soul that blesses shall be made fat. And whoever inebriates will likewise be inebriated himself.	25 La persona liberale sarà ingrassata; E chi annaffia sarà anch’esso annaffiato
26 Whoever hides away grain shall be cursed among the people. But a blessing is upon the head of those who sell it.	26 Il popolo maledirà chi serra il grano; Ma benedizione sarà sopra il capo di chi lo vende
27 He does well to rise early, who seeks what is good. But whoever is a seeker of evils shall be oppressed by them.	27 Chi cerca il bene procaccia benevolenza; Ma il male avverrà a chi lo cerca
28 Whoever trusts in his riches will fall. But the just shall spring up like a green leaf.	28 Chi si confida nelle sue ricchezze caderà; Ma i giusti germoglieranno a guisa di frondi
29 Whoever troubles his own house will possess the winds. And whoever is foolish will serve the wise.	29 Chi dissipa la sua casa possederà del vento; E lo stolto sarà servo a chi è savio di cuore
30 The fruit of the just one is the tree of life. And whoever receives souls is wise.	30 Il frutto del giusto è un albero di vita; E il savio prende le anime
31 If the just are repaid upon the earth, how much more the impious and the sinner!	31 Ecco, il giusto riceve la sua retribuzione in terra; Quanto più la riceverà l’empio e il peccatore?
