Psalms 43

1 Unto the end. To the sons of Korah, toward understanding.	1 In fine, (salmo di David) nell' intelletto delli figliuoli di Core.
2 We have heard, O God, with our own ears. Our fathers have announced to us the work that you wrought in their days and in the days of antiquity.	2 Iddio, colle nostre orecchie abbiamo udito; e gli nostri padri a noi nunciorono le opere che facesti nel loro tempo delli giorni antichi.
3 Your hand dispersed the Gentiles, and you transplanted them. You afflicted a people, and you expelled them.	3 La tua mano disperse le genti, e piantastili; tormentasti li popoli, e ha'li cacciati fuori.
4 For they did not take possession of the land by their sword, and their own arm did not save them. But your right hand and your arm, and the light of your countenance did so, because you were pleased with them.	4 Certo con suo coltello non hanno posseduto la terra, e loro braccio non gli ha salvati, ma la tua destra e il tuo braccio e la illuminazione del tuo volto; però che ti compiacesti in essi.
5 You yourself are my king and my God, who commands the salvation of Jacob.	5 Tu sei il mio re e il mio Iddio, il qual mandi la salute a Iacob.
6 With you, we will brandish a horn before our enemies; and in your name, we will spurn those rising up against us.	6 In te ventaremo i nostri nemici con corno; e nel tuo nome disprezzeremo quelli che si levano contra di noi.
7 For I will not hope in my bow, and my sword will not save me.	7 Certo non spererò nel mio arco; e il mio coltello non mi salvarà.
8 For you have saved us from those who afflict us, and you have bewildered those who hate us.	8 Perchè ne salvasti dalli nostri affliggenti; e hai confuso gli nostri odianti.
9 In God, we will give praise all day long; and in your name, we will confess forever.	9 In Dio saremo laudati in tutto il giorno; e nel tuo nome sì confesseremo IN SECULA.
10 But now, you have rejected and bewildered us, and you will not go forth with our armies, O God.	10 Ma al presente ne hai scacciati e confusi; e non uscira'ne, Iddio, nelle nostre virtù.
11 You have turned our back to our enemies, and those who hated us have plundered for themselves.	11 Haine tornati a drieto dopo i nostri nemici; e quelli che ci hanno avuto in odio si struggevano loro medesimi.
12 You have given us over like sheep for food. You have scattered us among the Gentiles.	12 Tu ne hai dati come pecore da mangiare; e haine dispersi tra le genti.
13 You have sold your people without a price, and no great number was exchanged for them.	13 Hai venduto il tuo popolo senza prezzo; e non è stata moltitudine di loro commutazione.
14 You have set us as a disgrace to our neighbors, a scoff and a derision to those who are around us.	14 Haine posti in obbrobrio alli vicini nostri; in inganno e scherno a quelli che sono intorno a noi.
15 You have set us as a parable among the Gentiles, a shaking of the head among the peoples.	15 Tu ci hai posto in similitudine delle genti; e in comuovere del capo nelli popoli.
16 All day long my shame is before me, and the confusion of my face has covered me,	16 Tutto il giorno contra di me è la vergogna; e la confusione della mia faccia mi ha coperto
17 before the voice of the reproacher and the commentator, before the face of the adversary and the pursuer.	17 dalla voce del maldicente e dell' incolpante; dalla faccia dell' inimico e del perseguente.
18 All these things have come upon us, yet we have not forgotten you, and we have not acted unjustly in your covenant.	18 Tutte queste cose vennero sopra di noi, e di te non si abbiamo dimenticato; nè iniquamente [abbiamo] operato nel tuo testamento.
19 And our heart has not turned back. And you have not diverted our steps from your way.	19 E non si trasse a drieto il cuore nostro; e (non) declinasti gli nostri sentieri dalla via tua.
20 For you humbled us in a place of affliction, and the shadow of death has covered us.	20 Però [che] ne hai umiliati nel luogo della afflizione, e hanne coperti l'ombra della morte.
21 If we have forgotten the name of our God, and if we have extended our hands to a foreign god,	21 Se ne abbiamo dimenticato del nome del nostro Iddio, se abbiamo sparto le mani alli dei estranei;
22 will not God find this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart. For, because of you, we are being killed all day long. We are considered as sheep for the slaughter.	22 Iddio non cercherà queste cose? Lui conosce i secreti del cuore. Imperò [che] per te siamo mortificati tutto il giorno; siamo estimati come pecore da uccidere.
23 Rise up. Why do you fall asleep, O Lord? Rise up, and do not reject us in the end.	23 Lèvati; il per che dormi, Signore? lèvati, e non ne scacciare nella fine.
24 Why do you turn your face away, and why do you forget our needfulness and our tribulation?	24 Il per che rimovi la tua faccia, ti dimentichi della nostra miseria e nostra tribulazione?
25 For our soul has been humbled into the dust. Our belly has been bound to the earth.	25 Per che nella polvere è umiliata l'anima nostra; aggiunto è in terra il nostro ventre.
26 Rise up, O Lord. Help us and redeem us, because of your name.	26 Lèvati, Signore, aiutane; e ricòmperane per il tuo nome.
