John 15

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.	1 IO son la vera vite, e il Padre mio è il vignaiuolo.
2 Every branch in me that bears no fruit he cuts away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunesto make it bear even more.	2 Egli toglie via ogni tralcio che in me non porta frutto; ma ogni tralcio che porta frutto egli lo rimonda, acciocchè ne porti vie più.
3 You are clean already, by means of the word that I have spoken to you.	3 Già siete voi mondi, per la parola che io vi ho detta.
4 Remain in me, as I in you. As a branch cannot bear fruit all by itself, unless it remains part of the vine,neither can you unless you remain in me.	4 Dimorate in me, ed io dimorerò in voi; siccome il tralcio non può portar frutto da sè stesso, se non dimora nella vite, così nè anche voi, se non dimorate in me.
5 I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me, with me in him, bears fruit in plenty; forcut off from me you can do nothing.	5 Io son la vite, voi siete i tralci; chi dimora in me, ed io in lui, esso porta molto frutto, poichè fuor di me non potete far nulla.
6 Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a branch -- and withers; these branches arecol ected and thrown on the fire and are burnt.	6 Se alcuno non dimora in me, è gettato fuori, come il sermento, e si secca; poi cotali sermenti son raccolti, e son gettati nel fuoco, e si bruciano.
7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for whatever you please and you wilget it.	7 Se voi dimorate in me, e le mie parole dimorano in voi, voi domanderete ciò che vorrete, e vi sarà fatto.
8 It is to the glory of my Father that you should bear much fruit and be my disciples.	8 In questo è glorificato il Padre mio, che voi portiate molto frutto; e così sarete miei discepoli
9 I have loved you just as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love.	9 Come il Padre mi ha amato, io altresì ho amati voi; dimorate nel mio amore.
10 If you keep my commandments you wil remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father'scommandments and remain in his love.	10 Se voi osservate i miei comandamenti, voi dimorerete nel mio amore; siccome io ho osservati i comandamenti del Padre mio, e dimoro nel suo amore.
11 I have told you this so that my own joy may be in you and your joy be complete.	11 Queste cose vi ho io ragionate, acciocchè la mia allegrezza dimori in voi, e la vostra allegrezza sia compiuta.
12 This is my commandment: love one another, as I have loved you.	12 Quest’è il mio comandamento: Che voi vi amiate gli uni gli altri, come io ho amati voi.
13 No one can have greater love than to lay down his life for his friends.	13 Niuno ha maggiore amor di questo: di metter la vita sua per i suoi amici.
14 You are my friends, if you do what I command you.	14 Voi sarete miei amici, se fate tutte le cose che io vi comando.
15 I shall no longer cal you servants, because a servant does not know the master's business; I cal youfriends, because I have made known to you everything I have learnt from my Father.	15 Io non vi chiamo più servi, perciocchè il servo non sa ciò che fa il suo signore; ma io vi ho chiamati amici, perciocchè vi ho fatte assaper tutte le cose che ho udite dal Padre mio.
16 You did not choose me, no, I chose you; and I commissioned you to go out and to bear fruit, fruit thatwil last; so that the Father wil give you anything you ask him in my name.	16 Voi non avete eletto me, ma io ho eletti voi; e vi ho costituiti, acciocchè andiate, e portiate frutto, e il vostro frutto sia permanente; acciocchè qualunque cosa chiederete al Padre nel mio nome, egli ve la dia.
17 My command to you is to love one another.	17 Io vi comando queste cose, acciocchè vi amiate gli uni gli altri
18 If the world hates you, you must realise that it hated me before it hated you.	18 Se il mondo vi odia, sappiate che egli mi ha odiato prima di voi.
19 If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you do not belong tothe world, because my choice of you has drawn you out of the world, that is why the world hates you.	19 Se voi foste del mondo, il mondo amerebbe ciò che sarebbe suo; ma, perciocchè voi non siete del mondo, anzi io vi ho eletti dal mondo, perciò vi odia il mondo.
20 Remember the words I said to you: A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted me,they will persecute you too; if they kept my word, they will keep yours as wel .	20 Ricordatevi delle parole che io vi ho dette: Che il servitore non è da più del suo signore; se hanno perseguito me, perseguiranno ancora voi; se hanno osservate le mie parole, osserveranno ancora le vostre.
21 But it wil be on my account that they will do al this to you, because they do not know the one whosent me.	21 Ma vi faranno tutte queste cose per lo mio nome; perciocchè non conoscono colui che mi ha mandato.
22 If I had not come, if I had not spoken to them, they would have been blameless; but as it is they haveno excuse for their sin.	22 Se io non fossi venuto, e non avessi lor parlato, non avrebbero alcun peccato; ma ora non hanno scusa alcuna del lor peccato.
23 Anyone who hates me hates my Father.	23 Chi odia me, odia eziandio il Padre mio.
24 If I had not performed such works among them as no one else has ever done, they would beblameless; but as it is, in spite of what they have seen, they hate both me and my Father.	24 Se io non avessi fatte tra loro opere quali niuno altro ha fatte, non avrebbero alcun peccato; ma ora essi le hanno vedute, ed hanno odiato me, ed il Padre mio.
25 But al this was only to fulfil the words written in their Law: They hated me without reason.	25 Ma questo è acciocchè si adempia la parola scritta nella lor legge: M’hanno odiato senza cagione
26 When the Paraclete comes, whom I shal send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who issuesfrom the Father, he wil be my witness.	26 Ma, quando sarà venuto il Consolatore, il quale io vi manderò dal Padre, che è lo Spirito della verità, il qual procede dal Padre mio, esso testimonierà di me.
27 And you too will be witnesses, because you have been with me from the beginning.	27 E voi ancora ne testimonierete, poichè dal principio siete meco
