1 These were the stages of the journey made by the Israelites when they left Egypt in their companiesunder the leadership of Moses and Aaron.	1 Eis as etapas que fizeram os israelitas desde a sua partida do Egito em tropas organizadas sob as ordens de Moisés e Aarão.
2 Moses recorded their starting-points in writing whenever they moved on at Yahweh's order. Thestages, from one starting-point to another, were as fol ows:	2 Moisés, por ordem do Senhor, tomou nota de suas marchas por etapas. São as seguintes essas marchas em etapas:
3 They left Rameses in the first month. It was the fifteenth day of the first month, the day following thePassover, when the Israelites confidently set out, under the eyes of al Egypt.	3 No décimo quinto dia do primeiro mês partiram de Ramsés. Isso foi no dia seguinte à Páscoa; partiram com a mão levantada, à vista de todos os egípcios
4 The Egyptians were burying those of their own people whom Yahweh had struck down, all the first-born; Yahweh had carried out his judgement on their gods.	4 que estavam enterrando aqueles que o Senhor tinha ferido dentre eles, todos os seus primogênitos. Também contra os seus deuses o Senhor tinha exercido o seu juízo.
5 The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Succoth.	5 Partidos de Ramsés, os israelitas se detiveram em Socot,
6 Then they left Succoth and encamped at Etham which is on the edge of the desert.	6 de onde partiram, indo acampar em Etão, situado na extremidade do deserto.
7 They left Etham, turned back to Pi-Hahiroth, opposite Baal-Zephon, and encamped before Migdol.	7 Dali, voltaram a Fi-Hairot, defronte de Beelsefon, e acamparam diante de Magdalum.

38 The priest Aaron went up Mount Hor on Yahweh's orders and died there in the fortieth year of theexodus of the Israelites from Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.	38 O sacerdote Aarão subiu por ordem do Senhor ao monte Hor, e ali morreu, no quadragésimo ano do êxodo dos israelitas do Egito, no primeiro dia do quinto mês.
39 Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor.	39 Aarão tinha cento e vinte e três anos quando expirou no monte Hor.
40 The king of Arad, the Canaanite who lived in the Negeb of Canaan, heard of the Israelites' arrival.	40 Foi então que o rei cananeu de Arad, que habitava no Negeb, na terra de Canaã, soube da chegada dos israelitas.

49 They encamped near the Jordan between Beth-ha-Jeshimoth and Abel-ha-Shittim, on the Plains ofMoab.	49 Seu acampamento nas planícies de Moab, perto do Jordão, ia desde Betsimot até Abel-Setim.
50 Yahweh spoke to Moses on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan by Jericho, and said:	50 O Senhor disse a Moisés, nas planícies de Moab, junto do Jordão, defronte de Jericó:
51 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you have crossed the Jordan into Canaan,	51 "Dize aos israelitas: quando tiverdes passado o Jordão e entrado na terra de Canaã,
52 you wil drive out al the local inhabitants before you. You wil destroy al their painted images, youwil destroy al their metal statues and you wil demolish al their high places.	52 expulsareis de diante de vós todos os habitantes da terra, destruireis todas as suas pedras esculpidas, todas as suas estátuas fundidas e devastareis todos os seus lugares altos.
53 You wil take possession of the country and settle in it, for I have given you the country as yourproperty.	53 Tomareis posse da terra e habitá-la-eis, porque eu vo-la dou.
54 You wil share it out by lot among your clans. To a large clan you wil give a larger heritage, and to asmal er clan you wil give a smal er heritage. Where the lot fal s for each, that wil be his. Your heritage wildepend on the size of your tribe.	54 Reparti-la-eis entre vossas famílias por sorte: aos que forem mais numerosos, uma porção maior, e uma menor, aos que forem menos. Cada um possuirá o que lhe couber por sorte. Fareis essa repartição segundo vossas tribos patriarcais.
55 If, however, you do not drive out the local inhabitants before you, the ones you al ow to remain wilbe thorns in your eyes and thistles in your sides and wil harass you in the country where you are living,	55 Se vós, porém, não expulsardes de diante de vós os habitantes da terra, os que ficarem serão para vós como espinhos nos olhos e aguilhões nos flancos, e vos perseguirão na terra onde habitardes.
56 and I shal treat you as I intended to treat them." '	56 E tudo o que eu tinha pensado fazer a eles, o farei a vós."
