Hosea 2

NEW JERUSALEM	Biblia Matos Soares
1 But the Israelites wil become as numerous as the sands of the sea, which cannot be measured orcounted. In the very place where they were told, 'You are not my people,' they wil be told they are 'Children ofthe living God'.	1 Dizei a vossos irmãos: Vós sois o meu povo; — e a vossa irmã: Tu alcançaste misericórdia.
2 The Judaeans and Israelites will be reunited and wil choose themselves a single head, and will spreadfar beyond their country, for great will be the Day of Jezreel!	2 Levai a juízo a vossa mãe, levai-a a juízo, porque ela não é mais minha esposa, nem eu seu esposo. Tire ela as suas fornicações da sua face, e os seus adultérios do meio de seus seios,
3 Then call your brothers, 'My people', and your sisters, 'You have been pitied'.	3 para que não suceda que eu a despoje, ficando ela nua, que a ponha no estado em que se encontrava no dia do seu nascimento, que a torne semelhante a um deserto, a transforme numa terra ressequida e a mate à sede.
4 To court, take your mother to court! For she is no longer my wife nor am I her husband. She must eitherremove her whoring ways from her face and her adulteries from between her breasts,	4 Não me compadecerei dos seus filhos, porque são filhos da prostituição.
5 or I shal strip her and expose her naked as the day she was born; I shall make her as bare as thedesert, I shall make her as dry as arid country, and let her die of thirst.	5 Com efeito, sua mãe prostituiu-se (idolatrando), aquela que os concebeu conduziu-se mal e disse: Irei após os meus amantes (ou ídolos), que me dão o meu pão e a minha água, a minha lã e o meu linho, o meu azeite e a minha bebida.
6 And I shal feel no pity for her children since they are the children of her whorings.	6 Por isso vou fechar-lhe o caminho com uma sebe de espinhos; cercá-lo-ei com um muro, e ela não encontrará as suas veredas.
7 Yes, their mother has played the whore, she who conceived them has disgraced herself by saying, 'Ishall chase after my lovers; they will assure me my keep, my wool, my flax, my oil and my drinks.'	7 Irá em seguimento dos (ídolos) seus amantes, mas não os alcançará; buscá-los, mas não os encontrará. Dirá então: Irei e voltarei para o meu primeiro (legítimo) esposo, porque então eu era mais feliz do que agora.
8 This is why I shal block her way with thorns, and wal her in to stop her in her tracks;	8 Ela não reconheceu que fui eu (e não os ídolos) que lhe dei o trigo, o vinho e o azeite, e que lhe prodigalizei a prata e o ouro, que, ofereceram a Baal.
9 then if she chases her lovers she wil not catch them, if she looks for them she wil not find them, andthen she wil say, 'I shal go back to my first husband, I was better off then than I am now;'	9 Por isso (mudarei agora de proceder a seu respeito), ou tomarei o meu trigo a seu tempo, e o meu vinho na estação própria, e tirarei (das suas mãos) a minha lã e o meu linho, que cobrem a sua nudez.
10 she had never realised before that I was the one who was giving her the grain, new wine and oil,giving her more and more silver and gold which they have spent on Baal!	10 Agora descobrirei a sua vergonha aos olhos dos seus amantes (que em nada lhe podem valer), e ninguém a livrará da minha mão;
11 This is why I shal take back my grain when it is due and my new wine, when the season for it comes. Ishall withdraw my wool and my flax which were to cover her naked body,	11 farei cessar todos os seus divertimentos, as suas solenidades, as suas neoménias, os seus sábados e todas as suas festas.
12 and then display her infamy before her lovers' eyes- no one will take her from me then!	12 Destruirei as suas vinhas e as suas figueiras, de que ela disse: Estas são as recompensas que me deram os meus amantes — e reduzi-la-ei a um matagal, e devorá-la-ão os animais selvagens.
13 I shal put an end to al her merrymaking, her festivals, her New Moons and her Sabbaths and al hersolemn feasts.	13 Castigá-la-ei pelos dias em que prestou culto aos Baais, (ou aos ídolos), queimando-lhes incenso, enquanto se enfeitava com as suas arrecadas e com os seus colares e ia após os seus amantes, esquecendo-se de mim, diz o Senhor.
14 I shal make her vines and fig trees derelict of which she used to say, 'These are the pay my loversgave me.' I shal turn them into a jungle: wild animals wil feed on them.	14 Por isso a atrairei, conduzi-la-ei à soledade e falar-lhe-ei ao coração.
15 I mean to make her pay for the feast-days on which she burnt incense to the Baals, when she trickedherself out in her earrings and necklaces to chase after her lovers, and forget me! -declares Yahweh.	15 Dar-lhe-ei a suas vinhas e o vale de Acor, como porta de esperança; ali cantará (hinos a Deus) como nos dias da sua juventude, e como nos dias em que subiu da terra do Egipto.
16 But look, I am going to seduce her and lead her into the desert and speak to her heart.	16 Nesse dia, diz o Senhor, ela me chamará: Meu esposo — ; não me chamará mais: Meu Baal (como aos seus ídolos).
17 There I shall give her back her vineyards, and make the Vale of Achor a gateway of hope. There shewil respond as when she was young, as on the day when she came up from Egypt.	17 Tirarei da sua boca os nomes dos Baais, para que nunca mais sejam pronunciados os seus nomes.
18 When that day comes- declares Yahweh- you wil cal me, 'My husband', no more wil you cal me, 'MyBaal'.	18 Farei aliança para eles naquele dia com os animais selvagens, com as aves do céu e com os répteis da terra; tirarei do país o arco, a espada e a guerra, e fá-los-ei repousar com toda a segurança.
19 I shal banish the names of the Baals from her lips and their name wil be mentioned no more.	19 Então me desposarei contigo para sempre, desposar-me-ei contigo na justiça e no direito, na misericórdia e no amor;
20 When that day comes I shal make a treaty for them with the wild animals, with the birds of heavenand the creeping things of the earth; I shal break the bow and the sword and warfare, and banish them from thecountry, and I wil let them sleep secure.	20 desposar-me-ei contigo com uma inviolável fidelidade, e saberás que eu sou o Senhor.
21 I shal betroth you to myself for ever, I shall betroth you in uprightness and justice, and faithful loveand tenderness.	21 Nesse dia atenderei, diz o Senhor, atenderei os céus, e eles atenderão a terra;
22 Yes, I shall betroth you to myself in loyalty and in the knowledge of Yahweh.	22 a terra atenderá o trigo, o mosto e o azeite, e estas coisas atenderão Jezrael.
23 When that day comes, I shal respond -declares Yahweh- I shal respond to the heavens and they willrespond to the earth	23 Farei dela, para mim, no país, um terreno de sementeira, compadecer-me-ei daquela (nação) que se chamava Sem-misericórdia.
24 and the earth wil respond to the grain, the new wine and oil, and they wil respond to Jezreel.	24 Direi ao que se chamava Não-meu-povo: Tu és o meu povo. E ele me dirá: Tu és o meu Deus.
25 I shal sow her in the country to be mine, I shall take pity on Lo-Ruhamah, I shal tell Lo-Ammi, 'Youare my people,' and he will say, 'You are my God.'
