Psalms 50

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	Біблія
1 A psalm of Asaph. The LORD, the God of gods, has spoken and summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.	1 Псалом. Асафа. Бог Господь прорік, покликав землю від сходу сонця до його заходу.
2 From Zion God shines forth. perfect in beauty.	2 З Сіону, досконалої краси, з’явився Бог у сяйві;
3 Our God comes and will not be silent! Devouring fire precedes, storming fiercely round about.	3 прийшов наш Бог і не буде мовчати. Вогонь перед ним пожирає, навкруги ж нього бушує сильно буря.
4 God summons the heavens above and the earth to the judgment of his people:	4 Він кличе згори небо й землю на суд народу свого:
5 "Gather my faithful ones before me, those who made a covenant with me by sacrifice."	5 «Зберіть мені моїх побожних, які над жертвою союз зо мною учинили».
6 The heavens proclaim divine justice, for God alone is the judge. Selah	6 І небеса звістять його справедливість, бо сам Бог — дійсний суддя.
7 "Listen, my people, I will speak; Israel, I will testify against you; God, your God, am I.	7 «Слухай, народе мій, я буду говорити; Ізраїлю, я свідчитиму проти тебе: Я Бог, твій Бог.
8 Not for your sacrifices do I rebuke you, nor for your holocausts, set before me daily.	8 Я не за жертви твої буду тобі докоряти, бо всепалення твої передо мною завжди.
9 I need no bullock from your house, no goats from your fold.	9 Не прийму я теляти з дому твого, ані козлів із твоєї кошари,
10 For every animal of the forest is mine, beasts by the thousands on my mountains.	10 моя бо вся звірина у лісі, і тисячі тварин на моїх горах.
11 I know every bird of the heavens; the creatures of the field belong to me.	11 Я знаю все небесне птаство, і що метушиться в полі, мені відоме.
12 Were I hungry, I would not tell you, for mine is the world and all that fills it.	12 Як зголоднію, не скажу тобі того; бо мій усесвіт і те, що його сповнює.
13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?	13 Чи ж то я їстиму биків м’ясо, чи кров козячу буду пити?
14 Offer praise as your sacrifice to God; fulfill your vows to the Most High.	14 Жертвуй Богові хвалу і віддай Всевишньому твої обіти.
15 Then call on me in time of distress; I will rescue you, and you shall honor me."	15 І клич до мене за лихої години, я визволю тебе, і ти мене прославиш!»
16 But to the wicked God says: "Why do you recite my commandments and profess my covenant with your lips?	16 До грішника ж Бог каже: «І чого бо ти говориш про мої закони і союз мій у тебе з уст не сходить, —
17 You hate discipline; you cast my words behind you!	17 ти, що науку ненавидиш і слова мої геть кинув позад себе?
18 When you see thieves, you befriend them; with adulterers you throw in your lot.	18 Як бачив злодія, то приятелював із ним і з перелюбцями водився.
19 You give your mouth free rein for evil; you harness your tongue to deceit.	19 Губами твоїми пускався на лихе, а язик твій кує підступ.
20 You sit maligning your own kin, slandering the child of your own mother.	20 Сідав і говорив на брата свого, на сина матері своєї пускав неславу.
21 When you do these things should I be silent? Or do you think that I am like you? I accuse you, I lay the charge before you.	21 Таке ти коїш, а я б мав мовчати? Гадаєш, що я такий, як ти? Я докорю тобі, появлю це тобі перед очі.
22 "Understand this, you who forget God, lest I attack you with no one to rescue.	22 Збагніть це добре, ви, що забули Бога, щоб я не вхопив, так що нікому й було б рятувати.
23 Those who offer praise as a sacrifice honor me; to the obedient I will show the salvation of God."	23 Хто жертвує хвалу, той мене прославляє; і хто по правді ходить, тому явлю я спасіння Боже».
