NEW AMERICAN BIBLEDOUAI-RHEIMS
A song of ascents. Happy are all who fear the LORD, who walk in the ways of God.1 Unless the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it. Unless the Lord keep the city, he watcheth in vain that keepeth it.
What your hands provide you will enjoy; you will be happy and prosper:2 It is vain for you to rise before light, rise ye after you have sitten, you that eat the bread of sorrow. When he shall give sleep to his beloved,
Like a fruitful vine your wife within your home, Like olive plants your children around your table.3 behold the inheritance of the Lord are children: the reward, the fruit of the womb.
Just so will they be blessed who fear the LORD.4 As arrows in the hand of the mighty, so the children of them that have been shaken.
May the LORD bless you from Zion, all the days of your life That you may share Jerusalem's joy5 Blessed is the man that hath filled the desire with them; he shall not be confounded when he shall speak to his enemies in the gate.
and live to see your children's children. Peace upon Israel!
