Psalms 105

1 Give thanks to the LORD, invoke his name; make known among the peoples his deeds!	1 Rendete grazie al Signore e invocate il suo nome,proclamate fra i popoli le sue opere.
2 Sing praise, play music; proclaim all his wondrous deeds!	2 A lui cantate, a lui inneggiate,meditate tutte le sue meraviglie.
3 Glory in his holy name; rejoice, O hearts that seek the LORD!	3 Gloriatevi del suo santo nome:gioisca il cuore di chi cerca il Signore.
4 Rely on the mighty LORD; constantly seek his face.	4 Cercate il Signore e la sua potenza,ricercate sempre il suo volto.
5 Recall the wondrous deeds he has done, his signs and his words of judgment,	5 Ricordate le meraviglie che ha compiuto,i suoi prodigi e i giudizi della sua bocca,
6 You descendants of Abraham his servant, offspring of Jacob the chosen one!	6 voi, stirpe di Abramo, suo servo,figli di Giacobbe, suo eletto.
7 The LORD is our God who rules the whole earth.	7 È lui il Signore, nostro Dio:su tutta la terra i suoi giudizi.
8 He remembers forever his covenant, the pact imposed for a thousand generations,	8 Si è sempre ricordato della sua alleanza,parola data per mille generazioni,
9 Which was made with Abraham, confirmed by oath to Isaac,	9 dell’alleanza stabilita con Abramoe del suo giuramento a Isacco.
10 And ratified as binding for Jacob, an everlasting covenant for Israel:	10 L’ha stabilita per Giacobbe come decreto,per Israele come alleanza eterna,
11 "To you I give the land of Canaan, your own allotted heritage."	11 quando disse: «Ti darò il paese di Canaancome parte della vostra eredità».
12 When they were few in number, a handful, and strangers there,	12 Quando erano in piccolo numero,pochi e stranieri in quel luogo,
13 Wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another,	13 e se ne andavano di nazione in nazione,da un regno a un altro popolo,
14 He let no one oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings:	14 non permise che alcuno li opprimessee castigò i re per causa loro:
15 " Do not touch my anointed, to my prophets do no harm."	15 «Non toccate i miei consacrati,non fate alcun male ai miei profeti».
16 Then he called down a famine on the land, destroyed the grain that sustained them.	16 Chiamò la carestia su quella terra,togliendo il sostegno del pane.
17 He had sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, sold as a slave.	17 Davanti a loro mandò un uomo,Giuseppe, venduto come schiavo.
18 They shackled his feet with chains; collared his neck in iron,	18 Gli strinsero i piedi con ceppi,il ferro gli serrò la gola,
19 Till his prediction came to pass, and the word of the LORD proved him true.	19 finché non si avverò la sua parolae l’oracolo del Signore ne provò l’innocenza.
20 The king sent and released him; the ruler of peoples set him free.	20 Il re mandò a scioglierlo,il capo dei popoli lo fece liberare;
21 He made him lord over his palace, ruler over all his possessions,	21 lo costituì signore del suo palazzo,capo di tutti i suoi averi,
22 To instruct his princes by his word, to teach his elders wisdom.	22 per istruire i prìncipi secondo il suo giudizioe insegnare la saggezza agli anziani.
23 Then Israel entered Egypt; Jacob lived in the land of Ham.	23 E Israele venne in Egitto,Giacobbe emigrò nel paese di Cam.
24 God greatly increased his people, made them too many for their foes.	24 Ma Dio rese molto fecondo il suo popolo,lo rese più forte dei suoi oppressori.
25 He turned their hearts to hate his people, to treat his servants unfairly.	25 Cambiò il loro cuore perché odiassero il suo popoloe agissero con inganno contro i suoi servi.
26 He sent his servant Moses, Aaron whom he had chosen.	26 Mandò Mosè, suo servo,e Aronne, che si era scelto:
27 They worked his signs in Egypt and wonders in the land of Ham.	27 misero in atto contro di loro i suoi segnie i suoi prodigi nella terra di Cam.
28 He sent darkness and it grew dark, but they rebelled against his word.	28 Mandò le tenebre e si fece buio,ma essi resistettero alle sue parole.
29 He turned their waters into blood and killed all their fish.	29 Cambiò le loro acque in sanguee fece morire i pesci.
30 Their land swarmed with frogs, even the chambers of their kings.	30 La loro terra brulicò di ranefino alle stanze regali.
31 He spoke and there came swarms of flies, gnats through all their country.	31 Parlò e vennero tafani,zanzare in tutto il territorio.
32 For rain he gave them hail, flashes of lightning throughout their land.	32 Invece di piogge diede loro la grandine,vampe di fuoco sulla loro terra.
33 He struck down their vines and fig trees, shattered the trees of their country.	33 Colpì le loro vigne e i loro fichi,schiantò gli alberi del territorio.
34 He spoke and the locusts came, grass hoppers without number.	34 Parlò e vennero le locustee bruchi senza numero:
35 They devoured every plant in the land; they ravaged the crops of their fields.	35 divorarono tutta l’erba della loro terra,divorarono il frutto del loro suolo.
36 He struck down every firstborn in the land, the first fruits of all their vigor.	36 Colpì ogni primogenito nella loro terra,la primizia di ogni loro vigore.
37 He brought his people out, laden with silver and gold; no stragglers among the tribes.	37 Allora li fece uscire con argento e oro;nelle tribù nessuno vacillava.
38 Egypt rejoiced when they left, for panic had seized them.	38 Quando uscirono, gioì l’Egitto,che era stato colpito dal loro terrore.
39 He spread a cloud as a cover, and made a fire to light up the night.	39 Distese una nube per proteggerlie un fuoco per illuminarli di notte.
40 They asked and he brought them quail; with bread from heaven he filled them.	40 Alla loro richiesta fece venire le quagliee li saziò con il pane del cielo.
41 He split the rock and water gushed forth; it flowed through the desert like a river.	41 Spaccò una rupe e ne sgorgarono acque:scorrevano come fiumi nel deserto.
42 For he remembered his sacred word to Abraham his servant.	42 Così si è ricordato della sua parola santa,data ad Abramo suo servo.
43 He brought his people out with joy, his chosen ones with shouts of triumph.	43 Ha fatto uscire il suo popolo con esultanza,i suoi eletti con canti di gioia.
44 He gave them the lands of the nations, the wealth of the peoples to own,	44 Ha dato loro le terre delle nazionie hanno ereditato il frutto della fatica dei popoli,
45 That they might keep his laws and observe his teachings. Hallelujah!	45 perché osservassero i suoi decretie custodissero le sue leggi.Alleluia.
