Job 36

1 Elihu proceeded further and said:	1 Aggiugnendo ancora Eliu queste cose:
2 Wait yet a little and I will instruct you, for there are still words to be said on God's behalf.	2 Sostieni me uno poco, e mostreroe a te; ancora io ho da parlare, per quello che s' appartiene a Dio.
3 I will bring my knowledge from afar, and to my Maker I will accord the right.	3 Ripeterò la mia scienza dal principio, e lo mio operatore proverò giusto.
4 For indeed, my theme cannot fail me: the one perfect in knowledge I set before you.	4 Veramente sanza falsità sono li miei sermoni, e per perfetta scienza si proverà a te.
5 Behold, God rejects the obstinate in heart; he preserves not the life of the wicked.	5 Iddio li potenti non caccia, conciosia cosa che egli sia potente.
6 He withholds not the just man's rights, but grants vindication to the oppressed,	6 Ma non salva gli malvagi, e lo giudicio alli poveri dà.
7 And with kings upon thrones he sets them, exalted forever.	7 Non toglie dal giusto li suoi occhii, e li re nella sedia alluoga in perpetuo, e ivi si dirizzano.
8 Or if they are bound with fetters and held fast by bonds of affliction,	8 E se saranno stati nelle catene, e sieno legati colle funi della povertade,
9 Then he makes known to them what they have done and their sins of boastful pride.	9 dimostrerà a loro le loro opere e le loro fellonie, perciò che sono stati sforzati.
10 He opens their ears to correction and exhorts them to turn back from evil.	10 E rivelerà le orecchie loro, acciò che li corregga; e favellerà, acciò che loro si partano dalla iniquitade.
11 If they obey and serve him, they spend their days in prosperity, their years in happiness.	11 S'elli udiranno e osserveranno, compiranno li dì loro in bene, e li loro anni nella gloria.
12 But if they obey not, they perish; they die for lack of knowledge.	12 Ma se non udiranno, passeranno per il coltello, e saranno consumati nella sciocchezza.
13 The impious in heart lay up anger for themselves; they cry not for help when he enchains them;	13 Gli simulatori e astuti pròvocano l'ira di Dio; e non chiameranno, quando saranno legati.
14 Therefore they expire in youth, and perish among the reprobate.	14 E morirà nella tempesta l' anima loro, e la vita loro sarà intra li tristi e vili.
15 But he saves the unfortunate through their affliction, and instructs them through distress.	15 Scamperà lo povero della sua angoscia, e rivelerà le orecchie sue nelle tribulazioni.
	16 Adunque salverà te della bocca stretta largamente, e non avente fondamento sotto sè; e lo riposo sarae alla tua mensa pieno d' abbondanza.
	17 La tua cagione, quasi come del malvagio, è giudicata; e la cagione (tua) e lo giudicio tu riceverai.
	18 Adunque non soperchii a te l'ira, acciò che tu costringa alcuno; nè la moltitudine delli doni inchini te.
	19 Lascia stare la tua grandezza sanza tribulazione, e tutti li robusti colla fortezza.
20	20 Non prolungare la notte, acciò che li popoli salgano per quelle.
21 Take heed, turn not to evil; for you have preferred carousal to affliction.	21 Guàrdati che tu non declini alla iniquitade; certo questa incominciasti a seguitare dopo la miseria.
22 Behold, God is sublime in his power. What teacher is there like him?	22 Ecco, Iddio altissimo nella sua fortezza, e niuno è simile a lui nelli rapportatori della legge.
23 Who prescribes for him his conduct, or who can say, "You have done wrong"?	23 Chi potrà cercare le sue vie? ovvero chi gli potrà dire ch' egli abbia adoperato la iniquitade?
24 Remember, you should extol his work, which men have praised in song.	24 Ricòrdati che non sai lo suo lavorìo, del quale cantarono gli uomini.
25 All men contemplate it; man beholds it from afar.	25 Tutti gli uomini veggono lui, ciascuno ragguarda da lunga.
26 Lo, God is great beyond our knowledge; the number of his years is past searching out.	26 Ecco, lo Iddio grande vincente la nostra scienza; e lo numero degli anni suoi non si puote stimare.
27 He holds in check the waterdrops that filter in rain through his mists,	27 Il quale toglie le goccie della piova, e disparge li venti piovali a modo di gorghi (profondi),
28 Till the skies run with them and the showers rain down on mankind.	28 i quali piovono da nuvoli, i quali cuoprono ogni cosa di sopra.
	29 Se vorrà stendere i nuvoli, come suo tetto,
30 Lo! he spreads the clouds in layers as the carpeting of his tent.	30 e folgorare collo lume suo di sopra, coprirâ l'estremità del mare.
31 For by these he nourishes the nations, and gives them food in abundance.	31 Per queste cose giudica li popoli, e dà l' esca a tutti i mortali.
32 In his hands he holds the lightning, and he commands it to strike the mark.	32 Nelle mani nasconde la luce, e condanna lei, che anche venga.
33 His thunder speaks for him and incites the fury of the storm.	33 Annunzia di quella all' amico suo, che sia sua possessione, e a lei possa salire.
