KING JAMES BIBLENEW AMERICAN BIBLE
Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.1 Grant me justice, God; defend me from a faithless people; from the deceitful and unjust rescue me.
For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?2 You, God, are my strength. Why then do you spurn me? Why must I go about mourning, with the enemy oppressing me?
O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.3 Send your light and fidelity, that they may be my guide And bring me to your holy mountain, to the place of your dwelling,
Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.4 That I may come to the altar of God, to God, my joy, my delight. Then I will praise you with the harp, O God, my God.
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.5 Why are you downcast, my soul? Why do you groan within me? Wait for God, whom I shall praise again, my savior and my God.
