Τοτε θελει ομοιωθη η βασιλεια των ουρανων με δεκα παρθενους, αιτινες λαβουσαι τας λαμπαδας αυτων εξηλθον εις απαντησιν του νυμφιου.1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be like to ten virgins, who taking their lamps went out to meet the bridegroom and the bride.
Πεντε δε εξ αυτων ησαν φρονιμοι και πεντε μωραι.2 And five of them were foolish, and five wise.
Αιτινες μωραι, λαβουσαι τας λαμπαδας αυτων, δεν ελαβον μεθ' εαυτων ελαιον?3 But the five foolish, having taken their lamps, did not take oil with them:
αι φρονιμοι ομως ελαβον ελαιον εν τοις αγγειοις αυτων μετα των λαμπαδων αυτων.4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with the lamps.
Και επειδη ο νυμφιος εβραδυνεν, ενυσταξαν πασαι και εκοιμωντο.5 And the bridegroom tarrying, they all slumbered and slept.
Ιδου, ο νυμφιος ερχεται, εξελθετε εις απαντησιν αυτου.6 And at midnight there was a cry made: Behold the bridegroom cometh, go ye forth to meet him.
Τοτε εσηκωθησαν πασαι αι παρθενοι εκειναι και ητοιμασαν τας λαμπαδας αυτων.7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.
Δοτε εις ημας εκ του ελαιου σας, διοτι αι λαμπαδες ημων σβυνονται.8 And the foolish said to the wise: Give us of your oil, for our lamps are gone out.
οθεν υπαγετε καλλιον προς τους πωλουντας και αγορασατε εις εαυτας.9 The wise answered, saying: Lest perhaps there be not enough for us and for you, go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
Ενω δε απηρχοντο δια να αγορασωσιν, ηλθεν ο νυμφιος και αι ετοιμοι εισηλθον μετ' αυτου εις τους γαμους, και εκλεισθη η θυρα.10 Now whilst they went to buy, the bridegroom came: and they that were ready, went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut.
Κυριε, Κυριε, ανοιξον εις ημας.11 But at last come also the other virgins, saying: Lord, Lord, open to us.
Αληθως σας λεγω, δεν σας γνωριζω.12 But he answering said: Amen I say to you, I know you not.
Αγρυπνειτε λοιπον, διοτι δεν εξευρετε την ημεραν ουδε την ωραν, καθ' ην ο Υιος του ανθρωπου ερχεται.13 Watch ye therefore, because you know not the day nor the hour.
Διοτι θελει ελθει ως ανθρωπος, οστις αποδημων εκαλεσε τους δουλους αυτου και παρεδωκεν εις αυτους τα υπαρχοντα αυτου,14 For even as a man going into a far country, called his servants, and delivered to them his goods;
και εις αλλον μεν εδωκε πεντε ταλαντα, εις αλλον δε δυο, εις αλλον δε εν, εις εκαστον κατα την ιδιαν αυτου ικανοτητα, και απεδημησεν ευθυς.15 And to one he gave five talents, and to another two, and to another one, to every one according to his proper ability: and immediately he took his journey.
Υπηγε δε ο λαβων τα πεντε ταλαντα και εργαζομενος δι' αυτων εκαμεν αλλα πεντε ταλαντα.16 And he that had received the five talents, went his way, and traded with the same, and gained other five.
Ωσαυτως και ο τα δυο εκερδησε και αυτος αλλα δυο.17 And in like manner he that had received the two, gained other two.
Ο δε λαβων το εν υπηγε και εσκαψεν εις την γην και εκρυψε το αργυριον του κυριου αυτου.18 But he that had received the one, going his way digged into the earth, and hid his lord's money.
Μετα δε καιρον πολυν ερχεται ο κυριος των δουλων εκεινων και θεωρει λογαριασμον μετ' αυτων.19 But after a long time the lord of those servants came, and reckoned with them.
ιδου, αλλα πεντε ταλαντα εκερδησα επ' αυτοις.20 And he that had received the five talents coming, brought other five talents, saying: Lord, thou didst deliver to me five talents, behold I have gained other five over and above.
εισελθε εις την χαραν του κυριου σου.21 His lord said to him: Well done, good and faithful servant, because thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will place thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
ιδου, αλλα δυο ταλαντα εκερδησα επ' αυτοις.22 And he also that had received the two talents came and said: Lord, thou deliveredst two talents to me: behold I have gained other two.
εισελθε εις την χαραν του κυριου σου.23 His lord said to him: Well done, good and faithful servant: because thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will place thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Κυριε, σε εγνωρισα οτι εισαι σκληρος ανθρωπος, θεριζων οπου δεν εσπειρας και συναγων οθεν δεν διεσκορπισας?24 But he that had received the one talent, came and said: Lord, I know that thou art a hard man; thou reapest where thou hast not sown, and gatherest where thou hast not strewed.
ιδου, εχεις το σον.25 And being afraid I went and hid thy talent in the earth: behold here thou hast that which is thine.
ηξευρες οτι θεριζω οπου δεν εσπειρα και συναγω οθεν δεν διεσκορπισα?26 And his lord answering, said to him: Wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sow not, and gather where I have not strewed:
επρεπε λοιπον να βαλης το αργυριον μου εις τους τραπεζιτας, και ελθων εγω ηθελον λαβει το εμον μετα τοκου.27 Thou oughtest therefore to have committed my money to the bankers, and at my coming I should have received my own with usury.
Λαβετε λοιπον απ' αυτου το ταλαντον, και δοτε εις τον εχοντα τα δεκα ταλαντα.28 Take ye away therefore the talent from him, and give it to him that hath ten talents.
Διοτι εις παντα τον εχοντα θελει δοθη και περισσευθη, απο δε του μη εχοντος και εκεινο το οποιον εχει θελει αφαιρεθη απ' αυτου.29 For to every one that hath shall be given, and he shall abound: but from him that hath not, that also which he seemeth to have shall be taken away.
εκει θελει εισθαι ο κλαυθμος και ο τριγμος των οδοντων.30 And the unprofitable servant cast ye out into the exterior darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Οταν δε ελθη ο ιος του ανθρωπου εν τη δοξη αυτου και παντες οι αγιοι αγγελοι μετ' αυτου, τοτε θελει καθησει επι του θρονου της δοξης αυτου,31 And when the Son of man shall come in his majesty, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit upon the seat of his majesty.
και θελουσι συναχθη εμπροσθεν αυτου παντα τα εθνη, και θελει χωρισει αυτους απ' αλληλων, καθως ο ποιμην χωριζει τα προβατα απο των εριφιων,32 And all nations shall be gathered together before him, and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats:
και θελει στησει τα μεν προβατα εκ δεξιων αυτου, τα δε εριφια εξ αριστερων.33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left.
Ελθετε οι ευλογημενοι του Πατρος μου, κληρονομησατε την ητοιμασμενην εις εσας βασιλειαν απο καταβολης κοσμου.34 Then shall the king say to them that shall be on his right hand: Come, ye blessed of my Father, possess you the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
Διοτι επεινασα, και μοι εδωκατε να φαγω, εδιψησα, και με εποτισατε, ξενος ημην, και με εφιλοξενησατε,35 For I was hungry, and you gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me to drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in:
γυμνος, και με ενεδυσατε, ησθενησα, και με επεσκεφθητε, εν φυλακη ημην, και ηλθετε προς εμε.36 Naked, and you covered me: sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me.
Κυριε, ποτε σε ειδομεν πεινωντα και εθρεψαμεν, η διψωντα και εποτισαμεν;37 Then shall the just answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry, and fed thee; thirsty, and gave thee drink?
ποτε δε σε ειδομεν ξενον και εφιλοξενησαμεν, η γυμνον και ενεδυσαμεν;38 And when did we see thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and covered thee?
ποτε δε σε ειδομεν ασθενη η εν φυλακη και ηλθομεν προς σε;39 Or when did we see thee sick or in prison, and came to thee?
Αληθως σας λεγω, καθ' οσον εκαμετε εις ενα τουτων των αδελφων μου των ελαχιστων, εις εμε εκαμετε.40 And the king answering, shall say to them: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to me.
Υπαγετε απ' εμου οι κατηραμενοι εις το πυρ το αιωνιον, το ητοιμασμενον δια τον διαβολον και τους αγγελους αυτου.41 Then he shall say to them also that shall be on his left hand: Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels.
Διοτι επεινασα, και δεν μοι εδωκατε να φαγω, εδιψησα, και δεν με εποτισατε,42 For I was hungry, and you gave me not to eat: I was thirsty, and you gave me not to drink.
ξενος ημην, και δεν με εφιλοξενησατε, γυμνος, και δεν με ενεδυσατε, ασθενης και εν φυλακη, και δεν με επεσκεφθητε.43 I was a stranger, and you took me not in: naked, and you covered me not: sick and in prison, and you did not visit me.
Κυριε, ποτε σε ειδομεν πεινωντα η διψωντα η ξενον η γυμνον η ασθενη η εν φυλακη, και δεν σε υπηρετησαμεν;44 Then they also shall answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to thee?
Αληθως σας λεγω, καθ' οσον δεν εκαμετε εις ενα τουτων των ελαχιστων, ουδε εις εμε εκαμετε.45 Then he shall answer them, saying: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it not to one of these least, neither did you do it to me.
Και θελουσιν απελθει ουτοι μεν εις κολασιν αιωνιον, οι δε δικαιοι εις ζωην αιωνιον.46 And these shall go into everlasting punishment: but the just, into life everlasting.
