DOUAI-RHEIMSNEW JERUSALEM
Blessed are all they that fear the Lord: that walk in his ways.1 [Song of Ascents] Often as men have attacked me since I was young -- let Israel repeat it-
For thou shalt eat the labours of thy hands: blessed art thou, and it shall be well with thee.2 often as men have attacked me since I was young, they have never overcome me.
Thy wife as a fruitful vine, on the sides of thy house.3 On my back ploughmen have set to work, making long furrows,
Behold, thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord.4 but Yahweh the upright has shattered the yoke of the wicked.
May the Lord bless thee out of Sion: and mayest thou see the good things of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.5 Let al who hate Zion be thrown back in confusion,
And mayest thou see thy children's children, peace upon Israel.6 let them be like grass on a roof, dried up before it is cut,
never to fil the reaper's arm nor the binder's lap.
And no passer-by wil say, 'The blessing of Yahweh be on you! 'We bless you in the name ofYahweh.'
