1 And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, the tenth day of the month, that Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon came, he and all his army against Jerusalem: and they surrounded it: end raised works round about it.	1 Es geschah am zehnten Tag des zehnten Monats, im neunten Jahre seiner Herrschaft, daß Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, mit seiner gesamten Streitmacht vor Jerusalem rückte und es belagerte. Man errichtete ringsherum ein Belagerungswerk.
2 And the city was shut up and besieged till the eleventh year of king Sedecias,	2 So wurde die Stadt eingeschlossen bis zum elften Jahr des Königs Zidkia.
3 The ninth day of the month: and a famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land.	3 Es entstand eine große Hungersnot in der Stadt, und die Bevölkerung des Landes hatte kein Brot mehr. Am neunten Tag des vierten Monats
4 And a breach was made into the city: and all the men of war fled in the night between the two walls by the king's garden, (now the Chaldees besieged the city round about,) and Sedecias fled by the way that leadeth to the plains of the wilderness.	4 wurde eine Bresche in die Stadt gelegt. Der König und alle Krieger sahen dies, ergriffen die Flucht und verließen die Stadt bei Nacht auf dem Weg durch das Tor zwischen den beiden Mauern, das zum königlichen Garten hinausführt, obwohl die Kaldäer rings um die Stadt lagerten. Sie schlugen den Weg zur Jordansenke ein.
5 And the army of the Chaldees pursued after the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho: and all the warriors that were with him were scattered, and left him:	5 Die Streitmacht der Kaldäer setzte dem König nach und erreichte ihn bei den Steppen von Jericho, nachdem all seine Truppen ihn verlassen und sich zerstreut hatten.
6 So they took the king, and brought him to the king of Babylon to Reblatha, and he gave judgment upon him.	6 Man ergriff den König und brachte ihn zum König von Babel nach Ribla; dieser hielt Gericht über ihn.
7 And he slew the sons of Sedecias before his face, and he put out his eyes, and bound him with chains, and brought him to Babylon.	7 Die Söhne des Zidkia machte man vor seinen Augen nieder. Den Zidkia selbst ließ er blenden, in Fesseln legen und nach Babel bringen.
8 In the fifth month, the seventh day of the month, that is, the nineteenth year of the king of Babylon, came Nabuzardan commander of the army, a servant of the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem.	8 Am siebten Tage des fünften Monats - es war im neunzehnten Jahr des Nebukadnezar, des Königs von Babel - rückte Nebusaraden, der Oberste der Leibwache und Diener des babylonischen Königs, in Jerusalem ein.
9 And he burnt the house of the Lord, and the king's house, and the houses of Jerusalem, and every house he burnt with fire.	9 Er steckte den Tempel, den königlichen Palast sowie alle Häuser Jerusalems in Brand. Jedes große Haus zündete er an.
10 And all the army of the Chaldees, which was with the commander of the troops, broke down the walls of Jerusalem round about.	10 Auch rissen die gesamten kaldäischen Streitkräfte, die der Oberste der Leibwache befehligte, die Ringmauern Jerusalems nieder.
11 And Nabuzardan the commander of the army, carried away the rest of the people that remained in the city, and the fugitives that had gone over to the king of Babylon, and the remnant of the common people.	11 Den Rest der Bevölkerung, der in der Stadt noch vorhanden war, sowie die Überläufer, welche zum König von Babel übergetreten waren, und den Rest der Handwerker führte Nebusaradan, der Oberste der Leibwache, in die Gefangenschaft.
12 But of the poor of the land he left some dressers of vines and husbandmen.	12 Aber von den geringen Leuten im Land ließ der Oberste der Leibwache eine Anzahl als Weinbauern und Landwirte zurück.
13 And the pillars of brass that were in the temple of the Lord, and the bases, and the sea of brass which was in the house of the Lord, the Chaldees broke in pieces, and carried all the brass of them to Babylon.	13 Die ehernen Säulen am Tempel des Herrn, die Fahrgestelle und das eherne "Meer" im Tempel des Herrn zerbrachen die Kaldäer und nahmen ihr Erz mit nach Babel.
14 They took away also the pots of brass, and the mazers, and the forks, and the cups, and the mortars, and all the vessels of brass with which they ministered.	14 Auch die Schüsseln, die Schaufeln, die Messer und die Schalen und alle ehernen Geräte, mit denen man den Tempeldienst versah, nahmen sie fort.
15 Moreover also the censers, and the bowls, such as were of gold in gold, and such as were of silver in silver, the general of the army took away.	15 Desgleichen nahm der Oberste der Leibwache die Kohlenpfannen und die Sprengschalen, die sämtlich von Gold oder Silber waren, mit.
16 That is, two pillars, one sea, and the bases which Solomon had made in the temple of the Lord: the brass of all these vessels was without weight.	16 Die beiden Säulen, das eine "Meer", die Gestelle, die Salomo für den Tempel anfertigen ließ - das Erz von all diesen Geräten war nicht zu wägen.
17 One pillar was eighteen cubits high, and the chapiter of brass which was upon it was three cubits high: and the network, and the pomegranates that were upon the chapiter of the pillar, were all of brass: and the second pillar had the like adorning.	17 Die Höhe der einzelnen Säulen betrug achtzehn Ellen. Ein Kapitell aus Erz bildete den Abschluß nach oben. Die Höhe des Kapitells betrug fünf Ellen. Das Kapitell umgaben Flechtwerk und Granatäpfel, alles aus Erz. Ebensolche Granatäpfel waren an der zweiten Säule auf dem Flechtwerk.
18 And the general of the army took Seraias the chief priest, and Sophonias the second priest, and three doorkeepers.	18 Der Oberste der Leibwache nahm den Oberpriester Seraja, den zweiten Priester Zephanja und die drei Schwellenhüter mit.
19 And out of the city one eunuch, who was captain over the men of war: and five men of them that had stood before the king, whom he found in the city, and Sopher the captain of the army who exercised the young soldiers of the people of the land: and threescore men of the common people, who were found in the city.	19 Aus der Stadt nahm er einen Hofbeamten gefangen, der zugleich die Streitmacht befehligte, und fünf Männer, die den persönlichen Dienst des Königs versahen und noch in der Stadt aufgefunden wurden, sowie den Schreiber des Heerführers, der die Bürger des Landes auszuheben hatte, endlich sechzig Leute von der Landesbevölkerung, die sich in der Stadt befanden.
20 These Nabuzardan the general of the army took away, and carried them to the king of Babylon to Reblatha.	20 Nebusaradan, der Oberste der Leibwache, nahm sie und schickte sie zum König von Babel nach Ribla.
21 And the king of Babylon smote them, and slew them at Reblatha in the land of Emath: so Juda was carried away out of their land.	21 Der König von Babel ließ sie in Ribla im Lande Hamat schlagen und hinrichten. Juda wanderte so von seinem Heimatland in die Verbannung.
22 But over the people that remained in the land of Juda, which Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon had left, he gave the government to Godolias the son of Ahicam the son of Saphan.	22 Über das Volk, das im Lande Juda geblieben und das der König von Babel, Nebukadnezar, zurückgelassen hatte, setzte er den Gedalja, den Sohn Achikams und Enkel Schaphans, als Statthalter ein.
23 And when all the captains of the soldiers had heard this, they and the men that were with them, to wit, that the king of Babylon had made Godolias governor, they came to Godolias to Maspha, Ismael the son of Nathanias, and Johanan the son of Caree, and Saraia the son of Thanehumeth the Netophathite, and Jezonias the son of Maachathi, they and their men.	23 Als sämtliche Truppenführer und ihre Mannschaften vernahmen, daß der König von Babel den Gedalja als Statthalter eingesetzt habe, kamen sie zu ihm nach Mizpa. Es waren Ismael, der Sohn Netanjas, Jochanan, der Sohn Kareachs, Seraja, der Sohn Tanchumets aus Netopha, und Jaasanja, der Sohn des Maachatiters, mit ihren Leuten.
24 And Godolias swore to them and to their men, saying : Be not afraid to serve the Chaldees: stay in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.	24 Gedalja schwur ihnen und ihren Mannschaften und ermunterte sie: "Habt keine Angst vor der kaldäischen Dienstbarkeit! Bleibt im Lande und dient dem König von Babel; dann wird es euch gut ergehen!"
25 But it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ismael the son of Nathanias, the son of Elisama of the seed royal came, and ten men with him: and smote Godolias so that he died: and also the Jews and the Chaldees that were with him in Maspha.	25 Doch im siebten Monat kam Ismael, der Sohn Netanjas und Enkel Elischamas, aus königlichem Geschlecht, und mit ihm zehn Männer. Sie erschlugen den Gedalja mitsamt den Juden und Kaldäern, die bei ihm in Mizpa waren.
26 And all the people both little and great, and the captains of the soldiers, rising up went to Egypt, fearing the Chaldees.	26 Danach machten sich alle Leute, die Kinder und die Erwachsenen, und alle Anführer von Streitkräften auf den Weg nach Ägypten; denn man fürchtete die Kaldäer.
27 And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Joachin king of Juda, in the twelfth month the seven and twentieth day of the month: Evilmerodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, lifted up the head of Joachin king of Juda out of prison.	27 Am siebenundzwanzigsten Tage des zwölften Monats im siebenunddreißigsten Jahre der Wegführung Jojachins, des Königs von Juda, begnadigte Ewil-Merodach, der König von Babel, im Jahre seines Regierungsantrittes Jojachin, den König von Juda, und entließ ihn aus dem Gefängnis.
28 And he spoke kindly to him: and he set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon.	28 Er redete mit ihm freundliche Worte und gab ihm seinen Sitz oberhalb des Sitzes der anderen Könige, die bei ihm in Babel waren.
29 And he changed his garments which he had in prison, and he ate bread always before him, all the days of his life.	29 Er durfte seine Gefängniskleider umtauschen und ständig bei ihm speisen, solange er lebte.
30 And he appointed him a continual allowance, which was also given him by the king day by day, all the days of his life.	30 Sein Lebensunterhalt wurde ihm als dauernde Gabe vom König in der bestimmten Höhe täglich geliefert, solange er lebte.
