Zacarías 9

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 Oráculo. La palabra del Señor llegó al país de Jadrac, y en Damasco está su reposo; porque al Señor pertenece la fuente de Aram, como todas las tribus de Israel,	1 The burden of the word of the Lord in the land of Hadrach and its respite in Damascus. 6 y gente bastarda se instalará en Asdod. Yo aniquilaré el orgullo del filisteo,	6 And the divider will sit in Ashdod, and I will scatter the arrogance of the Philistines.
7 quitaré la sangre de su boca y sus abominaciones de entre sus dientes. El también será un resto para nuestro Dios, será como un jefe en Judá, y Ecrón será como un jebuseo.	7 And I will take away his blood from his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth, and yet he will be left for our God, and he will be like a governor in Judah, and Ekron will be like a Jebusite.
8 Yo acamparé junto a mi casa como una guardia contra los que pasan y vuelven: no pasará más entre ellos ningún opresor, porque ahora he visto con mis ojos.	8 And I will encircle my house with those who serve me in war, going and returning, and the exactor will no longer pass over them. 9 ¡Alégrate mucho, hija de Sión! ¡Grita de júbilo, hija de Jerusalén! 10 El suprimirá los carros de Efraím y los caballos de Jerusalén; el arco de guerra será suprimido y proclamará la paz a las naciones. Su dominio se extenderá de un mar hasta el otro, y desde el Río hasta los confines de la tierra.	10 And I will scatter the four-horse chariot out of Ephraim and the horse from Jerusalem, and the bow of war will be destroyed. And he will speak peace to the Gentiles, and his power will be from sea to sea, and from the rivers even to the end of the earth.
11 En cuanto a ti, por la sangre de alianza yo libraré a tus cautivos de la fosa sin agua.	11 You, likewise, by the blood of your testimony, have sent forth your prisoners from the pit, in which there is no water.
12 Vuelvan a la plaza fuerte, cautivos llenos de esperanza. Sí, hoy mismo lo declaro: yo te daré una doble compensación.	12 Turn back to the fortress, prisoners of hope. Today, I also announce that I will repay you double,
13 Porque yo tendí mi arco: es Judá; lo armé con Efraím. Lanzaré a tus hijos, Sión, contra tus hijos, Javán; te empuñaré como una espada de guerrero.	13 because I have stretched out Judah for myself, like a bow; I have filled Ephraim. And I will raise up your sons, Zion, above your sons, Greece. And I will set you as the sword of the strength.
14 El Señor aparecerá sobre ellos, y su flecha partirá como el rayo. El Señor hará sonar la trompeta y avanzará en los torbellinos del sur.	14 And the Lord God will be seen over them, and his arrow will go forth like lightning. And the Lord God will sound the trumpet, and he will go forth into the whirlwind of the South.
15 El Señor de los ejércitos los escudará; ellos triunfarán y pisotearán las piedras de las hondas, beberán la sangre como si fuera vino, se llenarán como la copa de la aspersión, como los ángulos del altar.	15 The Lord of hosts will protect them. And they will devour and subdue with the stones of the sling. And, when drinking, they will become inebriated, as if with wine, and they will be filled like bowls and like the horns of the altar.
16 El Señor, su Dios, los salvará en aquel día, como al rebaño de su pueblo; como piedras de una diadema, resplandecerán sobre su tierra.	16 And in that day, the Lord their God will save them as the flock of his people. For holy stones will be lifted up over his land.
17 ¡Qué felicidad y qué hermosura! El trigo dará vigor a los jóvenes y el vino nuevo a las jóvenes.	17 For what is his goodness and what is his beauty, other than grain among the elect and wine springing forth virgins?
