Zacarías 9

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 Oráculo. La palabra del Señor llegó al país de Jadrac, y en Damasco está su reposo; porque al Señor pertenece la fuente de Aram, como todas las tribus de Israel,	1 An oracle: The word of the LORD is upon the land of Hadrach, and Damascus is its resting place, For the cities of Aram are the LORD'S, as are all the tribes of Israel,
2 y también Jamat, que está en su frontera, y Tiro y Sidón. Por su gran sabiduría,	2 Hamath also, on its border, Tyre too, and Sidon, however wise they be.
3 Tiro se construyó una fortaleza, amontonó plata como polvo y oro fino como barro de las calles.	3 Tyre built herself a stronghold, and heaped up silver like dust, and gold like the mire of the streets.
4 Pero el Señor va a apoderarse de eso, arrojará su poderío en el mar y ella misma será presa de las llamas.	4 Lo, the LORD will strip her of her possessions, and smite her power on the sea, and she shall be devoured by fire.
5 Lo verá Ascalón y temerá; también Gaza, y se retorcerá de dolor, y lo mismo Ecrón, porque su esperanza quedó defraudada; Gaza no tendrá más rey, Ascalón ya no será habitada	5 Ashkelon shall see it and be afraid; Gaza also: she shall be in great anguish; Ekron, too, for her hope shall come to nought. The king shall disappear from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited,
6 y gente bastarda se instalará en Asdod. Yo aniquilaré el orgullo del filisteo,	6 and the baseborn shall occupy Ashdod. I will destroy the pride of the Philistine
7 quitaré la sangre de su boca y sus abominaciones de entre sus dientes. El también será un resto para nuestro Dios, será como un jefe en Judá, y Ecrón será como un jebuseo.	7 and take from his mouth his bloody meat, and his abominations from between his teeth: He also shall become a remnant for our God, and shall be like a family in Judah, and Ekron shall be like the Jebusites.
8 Yo acamparé junto a mi casa como una guardia contra los que pasan y vuelven: no pasará más entre ellos ningún opresor, porque ahora he visto con mis ojos.	8 I will encamp by my house as a guard that none may pass to and fro; No oppressor shall pass over them again, for now I have regard for their affliction.
9 ¡Alégrate mucho, hija de Sión! ¡Grita de júbilo, hija de Jerusalén! Mira que tu Rey viene hacia ti; él es justo y victorioso, es humilde y está montado sobre un asno, sobre la cría de un asna.	9 Rejoice heartily, O daughter Zion, shout for joy, O daughter Jerusalem! See, your king shall come to you; a just savior is he, Meek, and riding on an ass, on a colt, the foal of an ass.
10 El suprimirá los carros de Efraím y los caballos de Jerusalén; el arco de guerra será suprimido y proclamará la paz a las naciones. Su dominio se extenderá de un mar hasta el otro, y desde el Río hasta los confines de la tierra.	10 He shall banish the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem; The warrior's bow shall be banished, and he shall proclaim peace to the nations. His dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.
11 En cuanto a ti, por la sangre de alianza yo libraré a tus cautivos de la fosa sin agua.	11 As for you, for the blood of your covenant with me, I will bring forth your prisoners from the dungeon.
12 Vuelvan a la plaza fuerte, cautivos llenos de esperanza. Sí, hoy mismo lo declaro: yo te daré una doble compensación.	12 In the return to the fortress of the waiting prisoners, This very day, I will return you double for your exile.
13 Porque yo tendí mi arco: es Judá; lo armé con Efraím. Lanzaré a tus hijos, Sión, contra tus hijos, Javán; te empuñaré como una espada de guerrero.	13 For I will bend Judah as my bow, I will arm myself with Ephraim; I will arouse your sons, O Zion, (against your sons, O Yavan,) and I will use you as a warrior's sword.
14 El Señor aparecerá sobre ellos, y su flecha partirá como el rayo. El Señor hará sonar la trompeta y avanzará en los torbellinos del sur.	14 The LORD shall appear over them, and his arrow shall shoot forth as lightning; The LORD God shall sound the trumpet, and come in a storm from the south.
15 El Señor de los ejércitos los escudará; ellos triunfarán y pisotearán las piedras de las hondas, beberán la sangre como si fuera vino, se llenarán como la copa de la aspersión, como los ángulos del altar.	15 The LORD of hosts shall be a shield over them, they shall overcome sling stones and trample them underfoot; They shall drink blood like wine, till they are filled with it like libation bowls, like the corners of the altar.
16 El Señor, su Dios, los salvará en aquel día, como al rebaño de su pueblo; como piedras de una diadema, resplandecerán sobre su tierra.	16 And the LORD, their God, shall save them on that day, his people, like a flock. For they are the jewels in a crown raised aloft over his land.
17 ¡Qué felicidad y qué hermosura! El trigo dará vigor a los jóvenes y el vino nuevo a las jóvenes.	17 For what wealth is theirs, and what beauty! grain that makes the youths flourish, and new wine, the maidens!
