1 Estos son los que se unieron a David en Siquelag, mientras él se mantenía alejado de Saúl, hijo de Quis. Ellos estaban entre los guerreros de refuerzo para los combates.	1 The following men came to David in Ziklag while he was still under banishment from Saul, son of Kish; they, too, were among the warriors who helped him in his battles.

Eran benjaminitas, parientes de Saúl.	2 They were archers who could use either the right or the left hand, both in slinging stones and in shooting arrows with the bow. They were some of Saul's kinsmen, from Benjamin.
3 Los principales eran Ajiézer y Joás, hijos de Semaá, de Guibeá, y los otros, Ieziel y Pélet, hijos de Azmávet; Beracá y Jehú, de Anatot;	3 Ahiezer was their chief, along with Joash, both sons of Shemaah of Gibeah; also Jeziel and Pelet, sons of Azmaveth; Beracah; Jehu, from Anathoth;
4 Ismaías, de Gabaón, un guerrero de los Treinta y jefe entre ellos;	4 Ishmaiah the Gibeonite, a warrior on the level of the Thirty, and in addition to their number;

9 También algunos gaditas se pasaron a David en el refugio del desierto; eran hombres valerosos, guerreros preparados para el combate, diestros en el manejo del escudo y la lanza, con rostros de león y rápidos como gacelas de los montes.	9 Some of the Gadites also went over to David when he was at the stronghold in the wilderness. They were valiant warriors, experienced soldiers equipped with shield and spear, who bore themselves like lions, and were as swift as the gazelles on the mountains.
10 Su jefe era Ezer; el segundo, Abdías; el tercero, Eliab;	10 Ezer was their chief, Obadiah was second, Eliab third,
11 el cuarto, Mismaná; el quinto, Jeremías;	11 Mishmannah fourth, Jeremiah fifth,
12 el sexto, Atai; el séptimo, Eliel;	12 Attai sixth, Eliel seventh,
13 el octavo, Iojanán; el noveno, Elzabad;	13 Johanan eighth, Elzabad ninth,
14 el décimo, Jeremías; el undécimo, Macbanai.	14 Jeremiah tenth, and Machbannai eleventh.
15 Estos eran los jefes de los gaditas, en el ejército: el menor de ellos valía por cien y el mayor por mil.	15 These Gadites were army commanders, the lesser placed over hundreds and the greater over thousands.

18 David se presentó ante ellos y les dijo: «Si vienen como amigos para ayudarme, yo estoy dispuesto a unirme con ustedes; pero si vienen para entregarme a mis enemigos, siendo así que no hay violencia en mis manos, ¡que lo vea el Dios de nuestros padres y haga justicia!».	18 David went out to meet them and addressed them in these words: "If you come peacefully, to help me, I am of a mind to have you join me. But if you have come to betray me to my enemies though my hands have done no wrong, may the God of our fathers see and punish you."
19 Entonces el espíritu descendió sobre Amasai, el jefe de los Treinta, y este exclamó: «¡Estamos de tu parte, David! ¡Estamos contigo, hijo de Jesé! ¡Paz, paz para ti, y paz para el que te ayuda! ¡Porque tu Dios viene en tu auxilio!». David les dio la bienvenida y los puso al frente de sus divisiones.	19 Then spirit enveloped Amasai, the chief of the Thirty, who spoke: "We are yours, O David, we are with you, O son of Jesse. Peace, peace to you, and peace to him who helps you; your God it is who helps you." So David received them and placed them among the leaders of his troops.
20 También algunos hombres de Manasés se plegaron a David, cuando él iba con los filisteos a combatir contra Saúl; pero esa gente no pudo ayudarlo porque los príncipes de los filisteos, reunidos en consejo, lo despidieron, diciendo: «El se pondrá de parte de Saúl, su señor, a costa de nuestras vidas».	20 Men from Manasseh also deserted to David when he came with the Philistines to battle against Saul. However, he did not help the Philistines, for their lords took counsel and sent him home, saying, "At the cost of our heads he will desert to his master Saul."
21 Cuando regresó a Siquelag, se plegaron a él algunos de la tribu de Manasés: Adná, Iozabad, Iediael, Micael, Iozabad, Elihú y Siletai, jefes de mil hombres en Manasés.	21 As he was returning to Ziklag, therefore, these deserted to him from Manasseh: Adnah, Jozabad, Jediael, Michael, Jozabad, Elihu, and Zillethai, chiefs of thousands of Manasseh.
22 Estos fueron una buena ayuda para David y su tropa, porque todos eran guerreros valerosos y llegaron a ser jefes del ejército.	22 They helped David by taking charge of his troops, for they were all warriors and became commanders of his army.
23 Día tras día David recibía refuerzos, de manera que su campamento llegó a ser enormemente grande.	23 And from day to day men kept coming to David's help until there was a vast encampment, like an encampment of angels.
24 Este es el número de los hombres equipados con sus armas, que se presentaron ante David en Hebrón, para transferirle el reino de Saúl, conforme a la orden del Señor:	24 This is the muster of the detachments of armed troops that came to David at Hebron to transfer to him Saul's kingdom, as the LORD had ordained.
25 Hombres de Judá, armados de escudo y lanza: 6.800 equipados para la guerra.	25 Judahites bearing shields and spears: six thousand eight hundred armed troops.
26 Hombres de Simeón, guerreros valerosos para el ejército: 7.100.	26 Of the Simeonites, warriors fit for battle: seven thousand one hundred.
27 Hombres de Leví: 4.600;	27 Of the Levites: four thousand six hundred,

35 Hombres de Neftalí: 1.000 jefes con 37.000 hombres, armados de escudo y lanza.	35 From Naphtali: one thousand captains, and with them, armed with shield and lance, thirty-seven thousand men.
36 Hombres de Dan preparados para el combate: 28.600.	36 Of the Danites, set in battle array: twenty-eight thousand six hundred.

39 Todos estos hombres de guerra, formados en orden de batalla, fueron a Hebrón, sinceramente dispuestos a proclamar a David rey de todo Israel; y también todo el resto de Israel estaba decidido unánimemente a hacer rey a David.	39 All these soldiers, drawn up in battle order, came to Hebron with the resolute intention of making David king over all Israel. The rest of Israel was likewise of one mind to make David king.
40 Durante tres días, permanecieron allí, comiendo y bebiendo con David, porque sus hermanos los habían provisto de víveres.	40 They remained with David for three days, feasting and drinking, for their brethren had prepared for them.
41 Además, de los pueblos vecinos, y hasta de Isacar, Zabulón y Neftalí habían traído víveres en asnos, camellos, mulas y bueyes, provisiones de harina, tortas de higo y pasas, vino y aceite, y ganado mayor y menor en abundancia; porque reinaba la alegría en Israel.	41 Moreover, their neighbors from as far as Issachar, Zebulun, and Naphtali came bringing food on asses, camels, mules, and oxen--provisions in great quantity of meal, pressed figs, raisins, wine, oil, oxen, and sheep. For there was rejoicing in Israel.
