| 2 Isto diz o Senhor dos exércitos; Tenho grande zelo por Sião, zelo-a com grande cólera (contra os seus inimigos). | 2 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: I have been burning with jealousy for Zion, with furious jealousy for hersake. |
| 3 Isto diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Volto para Sião, venho habitar no meio de Jerusalém; Jerusalém chamar-se-á a cidade da fidelidade, e o monte do Senhor dos exércitos monte santo. | 3 Yahweh says this: I am coming back to Zion and shal live in the heart of Jerusalem. Jerusalem wil becal ed Faithful City and the mountain of Yahweh Sabaoth, the Holy Mountain. |
| 4 Isto diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Ainda nas praças de Jerusalém se verão velhos e velhas, tendo cada um na mão um cajado por causa da sua muita idade; | 4 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Aged men and women once again wil sit in the squares of Jerusalem, eachwith a stick to lean on because of their great age. |
| 5 os largos da cidade estarão cheios de meninos e meninas, que brincarão nas suas pragas. | 5 And the squares of the city wil be full of boys and girls playing there. |
| 6 Isto diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Se o que eu predigo para esse tempo parecer impossível aos olhos dos que restarem deste povo, acaso será .isso impossível a meus olhos? — diz o Senhor dos exércitos. | 6 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: If this seems a miracle to the remnant of this people (in those days), wil itseem one to me? declares Yahweh. |
| 7 Assim fala o Senhor dos exércitos: Eis que vou livrar o meu povo, tirando-o da terra do oriente e da terra do ocidente. | 7 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Look, I shal rescue my people from the countries of the east and from thecountries of the west. |
| 8 Eu os trarei, e eles habitarão no meio de Jerusalém; serão o meu povo, e eu serei o seu Deus na fidelidade e na justiça. | 8 I shal bring them back to live in the heart of Jerusalem, and they will be my people and I shal be theirGod, faithful and just. |
| 9 Isto diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Confortem-se as vossas mãos, ó vós, que nestes dias ouvis estas palavras da boca dos profetas, agora que foram lançados os fundamentos da casa do 'Senhor dos exércitos, para que o templo seja reedificado. | 9 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Take heart, you who today hear these promises uttered by the prophetssince the day when the foundations of the Temple of Yahweh Sabaoth were laid, that the sanctuary wouldindeed be rebuilt. |
| 10 Antes destes dias, não havia salário para os homens, nem tinham paga os animais, nem havia paz para o que entrava nem para o que saía, por causa do inimigo; eu tinha deixado todos os homens uns contra os outros. | 10 For up to now, men were not paid their wages and nothing was paid for the animals either; and it hasnot been safe for anyone to come and go, because of the enemy, since I had set each one against everyoneelse. |
| 11 Agora, porém, não tratarei os restos deste povo como nos dias antigos, diz o Senhor dos exércitos. | 11 But from now on, I shal not treat the remnant of this people as I have treated them in time past --declares Yahweh Sabaoth. |
| 12 A sementeira é de paz: a vinha dará o seu fruto, a terra os seus produtos, os céus darão o seu orvalho, e eu farei que os restos deste povo possuam todos estes bens. | 12 Now they wil sow in peace; the vine will give its fruit, the soil wil give its produce and heaven will giveits dew. I shal bestow al these on the remnant of this people. |
| 13 Acontecerá que, assim como vós éreis uma maldição entre as nações, ó casa de Judá e casa de Israel, assim vos salvarei, e vós sereis uma bênção. Não temais, armem-se as vossas mãos de fortaleza. | 13 Just as once you were a curse among the nations, House of Judah and House of Israel, so now I shalsave you, and you wil be a blessing. Do not be afraid. Take heart!" |
| 14 Isto diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Assim como resolvi afligir-vos, quando vossos pais me provocaram a ira, diz o Senhor, | 14 'For Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Just as I resolved to ill-treat you when your ancestors provoked me toanger and did not relent -- says Yahweh Sabaoth- |
| 15 e não voltei atrás, assim, resolvo, pelo contrário, nestes dias fazer bem à casa de Judá e a Jerusalém. Não temais. | 15 so now I have changed my mind and intend to treat Jerusalem and the House of Judah well. Do not beafraid! |
| 16 Eis o que deveis fazer: Falai verdade, uns aos outros, julgai às vossas portas segundo a verdade e para a paz. | 16 "These are the things that you must do. Speak the truth to one another; at your gates, administer fairjudgement conducive to peace; |
| 17 Nenhum forme no seu coração maus desígnios contra os outros; não gosteis de fazer juramentos falsos, porque todas estas coisas eu as aborreço, diz o Senhor. | 17 do not secretly plot evil against one another; do not love perjury; since I hate al this -- Yahwehdeclares." ' |
| 18 Foi-me dirigida a palavra do Senhor dos exércitos, nestes termos: | 18 The word of Yahweh Sabaoth was addressed to me as fol ows: |
| 19 Isto diz o Senhor dos exércitos; O jejum do quarto (mês), o jejum do quinto, o jejum do sétimo e o jejum do décimo mês converter-se-ão para a casa de Judá em gozo e alegria, em festivas solenidades. Mas amai a verdade e a paz. | 19 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "The fast of the fourth month, the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventhand the fast of the tenth are to become glad, joyful, happy festivals for the House of Judah. So love truth andpeace!" ' |
| 20 Isto diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Virão povos e habitantes de grandes cidades. | 20 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In the future, peoples and citizens of many cities wil come; |
| 21 Os seus habitantes irão ter uns com os outros, dizendo: Vamos e apresentemos as nossas preces na presença do Senhor, busquemos o Senhor dos exércitos. Pela minha parte (dirá cada um), irei. | 21 and citizens of one city wil go to the next and say: We must certainly go to entreat Yahweh's favourand seek out Yahweh Sabaoth; I am going myself. |
| 22 Então virão muitos povos e poderosas nações buscar o Senhor dos exércitos em Jerusalém, fazer as suas orações na presença do Senhor. | 22 Yes, many peoples and great nations will seek out Yahweh Sabaoth in Jerusalem and entreatYahweh's favour." |
| 23 Isto diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Naqueles dias, dez homens de todas as línguas das nações lançarão mão de um judeu, agarrarão a fímbria do seu vestido, dizendo: Iremos convosco, porque soubemos que (o verdadeiro) Deus está convosco. | 23 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In those days, ten men from nations of every language will take a Jew bythe sleeve and say: We want to go with you, since we have learnt that God is with you." ' |
