1 Corintios 3

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Yo, hermanos, no pude hablaros como a espirituales, sino como a carnales, como a niños en Cristo.	1 And so, brothers, I was not able to talk to you as spiritual people; I had to talk to you as people stilliving by your natural inclinations, stil infants in Christ;
2 Os di a beber leche y no alimento sólido, pues todavía no lo podíais soportar. Ni aun lo soportáis al presente;	2 I fed you with milk and not solid food, for you were not yet able to take it -- and even now, you are stilnot able to,
3 pues todavía sois carnales. Porque, mientras haya entre vosotros envidia y discordia ¿no es verdad que sois carnales y vivís a lo humano?	3 for you are still living by your natural inclinations. As long as there are jealousy and rivalry among you,that surely means that you are stil living by your natural inclinations and by merely human principles.
4 Cuando dice uno «Yo soy de Pablo», y otro «Yo soy de Apolo», ¿no procedéis al modo humano?	4 While there is one that says, 'I belong to Paul' and another that says, 'I belong to Apol os' are you notbeing only too human?
5 ¿Qué es, pues Apolo? ¿Qué es Pablo?... ¡Servidores, por medio de los cuales habéis creído!, y cada uno según lo que el Señor le dio.	5 For what is Apollos and what is Paul? The servants through whom you came to believe, and each hasonly what the Lord has given him.
6 Yo planté, Apolo regó; mas fue Dios quien dio el crecimiento.	6 I did the planting, Apol os did the watering, but God gave growth.
7 De modo que ni el que planta es algo, ni el que riega, sino Dios que hace crecer.	7 In this, neither the planter nor the waterer counts for anything; only God, who gives growth.
8 Y el que planta y el que riega son una misma cosa; si bien cada cual recibirá el salario según su propio trabajo,	8 It is al one who does the planting and who does the watering, and each will have the proper pay for thework that he has done.
9 ya que somos colaboradores de Dios y vosotros, campo de Dios, edificación de Dios.	9 After all, we do share in God's work; you are God's farm, God's building.
10 Conforme a la gracia de Dios que me fue dada, yo, como buen arquitecto, puse el cimiento, y otro construye encima. ¡Mire cada cual cómo construye!	10 By the grace of God which was given to me, I laid the foundations like a trained master-builder, andsomeone else is building on them. Now each one must be careful how he does the building.
11 Pues nadie puede poner otro cimiento que el ya puesto, Jesucristo.	11 For nobody can lay down any other foundation than the one which is there already, namely JesusChrist.
12 Y si uno construye sobre este cimiento con oro, plata, piedras preciosas, madera, heno, paja,	12 On this foundation, different people may build in gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay or straw
13 la obra de cada cual quedará al descubierto; la manifestará el Día, que ha de revelarse por el fuego. Y la calidad de la obra de cada cual, la probará el fuego.	13 but each person's handiwork wil be shown for what it is. The Day which dawns in fire will make it clearand the fire itself wil test the quality of each person's work.
14 Aquél, cuya obra, construida sobre el cimiento, resista, recibirá la recompensa.	14 The one whose work stands up to it wil be given his wages;
15 Mas aquél, cuya obra quede abrasada, sufrirá el daño. El, no obstante, quedará a salvo, pero como quien pasa a través del fuego.	15 the one whose work is burnt down wil suffer the loss of it, though he himself will be saved; he wil besaved as someone might expect to be saved from a fire.
16 ¿No sabéis que sois santuario de Dios y que el Espíritu de Dios habita en vosotros?	16 Do you not realise that you are a temple of God with the Spirit of God living in you?
17 Si alguno destruye el santuario de Dios, Dios le destruirá a él; porque el santuario de Dios es sagrado, y vosotros sois ese santuario.	17 If anybody should destroy the temple of God, God will destroy that person, because God's temple isholy; and you are that temple.
18 ¡Nadie se engañe! Si alguno entre vosotros se cree sabio según este mundo, hágase necio, para llegar a ser sabio;	18 There is no room for self-delusion. Any one of you who thinks he is wise by worldly standards mustlearn to be a fool in order to be real y wise.
19 pues la sabiduría de este mundo es necedad a los ojos de Dios. En efecto, dice la Escritura: El que prende a los sabios en su propia astucia.	19 For the wisdom of the world is folly to God. As scripture says: He traps the crafty in the snare of theirown cunning
20 Y también: El Señor conoce cuán vanos son los pensamientos de los sabios.	20 and again: The Lord knows the plans of the wise and how insipid they are.
21 Así que, no se gloríe nadie en los hombres, pues todo es vuestro:	21 So there is to be no boasting about human beings: everything belongs to you,
22 ya sea Pablo, Apolo, Cefas, el mundo, la vida, la muerte, el presente, el futuro, todo es vuestro;	22 whether it is Paul, or Apol os, or Cephas, the world, life or death, the present or the future -- al belongto you;
23 y vosotros, de Cristo y Cristo de Dios.	23 but you belong to Christ and Christ belongs to God.
