| 1 O Senhor disse a Moisés: “Dize aos sacerdotes, filhos de Aarão, o seguinte: Ninguém será considerado como impuro no meio de seu povo por causa de um morto, | 1 And the LORD said to Moses, "Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them that none of them shall defile himself for the dead among his people, |
| 2 exceto quando se trate de seu parente próximo, mãe, pai, filho, filha, irmão, | 2 except for his nearest of kin, his mother, his father, his son, his daughter, his brother, |
| 3 irmã virgem que não se casou e vive junto dele. Por ela poderá contaminar-se. | 3 or his virgin sister (who is near to him because she has had no husband; for her he may defile himself). |
| 4 Ele, sendo chefe no meio de seu povo, não se tornará impuro, para não se profanar. | 4 He shall not defile himself as a husband among his people and so profane himself. |
| 5 Os sacerdotes não rasparão a cabeça, nem os lados de sua barba, e não farão incisões em sua carne. | 5 They shall not make tonsures upon their heads, nor shave off the edges of their beards, nor make any cuttings in their flesh. |
| 6 Serão santos para o seu Deus e não profanarão o seu nome, porque oferecem ao Senhor os sacrifícios consumidos pelo fogo, o pão de seu Deus. Serão santos. | 6 They shall be holy to their God, and not profane the name of their God; for they offer the offerings by fire to the LORD, the bread of their God; therefore they shall be holy. |
| 7 Não desposarão uma mulher prostituída ou desonrada, nem uma mulher repudiada pelo marido, porque são santos para o seu Deus. | 7 They shall not marry a harlot or a woman who has been defiled; neither shall they marry a woman divorced from her husband; for the priest is holy to his God. |
| 8 Terás, pois, o sacerdote por santo, porque ele oferece o pão de teu Deus. Ele será santo para ti, porque eu, o Senhor que vos santifico, sou santo. | 8 You shall consecrate him, for he offers the bread of your God; he shall be holy to you; for I the LORD, who sanctify you, am holy. |
| 9 Se a filha de um sacerdote se desonrar pela prostituição, desonrará seu pai e será queimada no fogo. | 9 And the daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by playing the harlot, profanes her father; she shall be burned with fire. |
| 10 O sumo sacerdote, superior a seus irmãos, sobre cuja cabeça se derramou o óleo da unção, e que foi estabelecido para revestir as vestes sagradas, não descobrirá a sua cabeça, e não rasgará as suas vestes. | 10 "The priest who is chief among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil is poured, and who has been consecrated to wear the garments, shall not let the hair of his head hang loose, nor rend his clothes; |
| 11 Não se aproximará de morto algum; e não se contaminará por seu pai, nem por sua mãe. | 11 he shall not go in to any dead body, nor defile himself, even for his father or for his mother; |
| 12 Não sairá do santuário de seu Deus, e não o profanará, porque o óleo da unção de seu Deus está sobre ele como um diadema. Eu sou o Senhor. | 12 neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the LORD. |
| 13 Tomará por mulher uma virgem. | 13 And he shall take a wife in her virginity. |
| 14 Não desposará nem viúva, nem mulher repudiada, nem mulher prostituída ou desonrada, mas desposará uma virgem do meio de seu povo. | 14 A widow, or one divorced, or a woman who has been defiled, or a harlot, these he shall not marry; but he shall take to wife a virgin of his own people, |
| 15 Não desonrará sua linhagem no meio de seu povo, porque sou eu, o Senhor, que o santifico”. | 15 that he may not profane his children among his people; for I am the LORD who sanctify him." |
| 16 O Senhor disse a Moisés: | 16 And the LORD said to Moses, |
| 17 “Dize a Aarão o seguinte: Homem algum de tua linhagem, por todas as gerações, que tenha algum defeito físico, oferecerá o pão de seu Deus. | 17 "Say to Aaron, None of your descendants throughout their generations who has a blemish may approach to offer the bread of his God. |
| 18 Desse modo, serão excluídos todos aqueles que tiverem uma deformidade: cegos, coxos, mutilados, pessoas de membros desproporcionais, | 18 For no one who has a blemish shall draw near, a man blind or lame, or one who has a mutilated face or a limb too long, |
| 19 ou tenha uma fratura no pé ou na mão, | 19 or a man who has an injured foot or an injured hand, |
| 20 corcundas ou anões, os que tiverem uma mancha no olho, ou a sarna, uma inflamação, ou os testículos esmagados. | 20 or a hunchback, or a dwarf, or a man with a defect in his sight or an itching disease or scabs or crushed testicles; |
| 21 Homem algum da linhagem de Aarão, o sacerdote, que for deformado, oferecerá os sacrifícios consumidos pelo fogo. Sendo vítima de uma deformidade, não poderá apresentar-se para oferecer o pão de seu Deus. | 21 no man of the descendants of Aaron the priest who has a blemish shall come near to offer the LORD's offerings by fire; since he has a blemish, he shall not come near to offer the bread of his God. |
| 22 Mas poderá comer o pão de seu Deus, proveniente das ofertas santíssimas e das ofertas santas. | 22 He may eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy and of the holy things, |
| 23 Não se aproximará, porém, do véu nem do altar, porque é deformado. Não profanará meus santuários, porque eu sou o Senhor que os santifico”. | 23 but he shall not come near the veil or approach the altar, because he has a blemish, that he may not profane my sanctuaries; for I am the LORD who sanctify them." |
| 24 Tais foram as palavras de Moisés a Aarão e a seus filhos, bem como a todos os israelitas. | 24 So Moses spoke to Aaron and to his sons and to all the people of Israel. |
