1 Yahvé parla à Moïse:	1 The LORD said to Moses,
2 “Tu diras ceci aux Israélites: Voici les règles concernant les personnes qui auront péché par erreur contre l’un des commandements de Yahvé, lorsqu’ils auront fait quelque chose qui ne doit pas se faire.	2 "Tell the Israelites: When a person inadvertently commits a sin against some command of the LORD by doing one of the forbidden things,
3 Si c’est le prêtre qui a péché, le peuple aussi est affecté par sa faute. Il offrira donc pour le péché qu’il a commis un jeune taureau sans défaut: ce sera pour Yahvé une victime pour le péché.	3 if it is the anointed priest who thus sins and thereby makes the people also become guilty, he shall present to the LORD a young, unblemished bull as a sin offering for the sin he committed.
4 Il amènera le taureau devant la Tente du Rendez-Vous, devant Yahvé, et il posera sa main sur la tête du taureau; puis il l’égorgera devant Yahvé.	4 Bringing the bullock to the entrance of the meeting tent, before the LORD, he shall lay his hand on its head and slaughter it before the LORD.
5 Le prêtre qui a reçu l’onction prendra du sang du taureau et le portera à l’intérieur de la Tente du Rendez-Vous.	5 The anointed priest shall then take some of the bullock's blood and bring it into the meeting tent,
6 Il trempera son doigt dans le sang et fera sept fois l’aspersion devant Yahvé, face au rideau du sanctuaire.	6 where, dipping his finger in the blood, he shall sprinkle it seven times before the LORD, toward the veil of the sanctuary.
7 Le prêtre mettra du sang sur les cornes de l’autel des parfums qui est devant Yahvé dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous, et il répandra le reste du sang du taureau au pied de l’autel des holocaustes, à l’entrée de la Tente.	7 The priest shall also put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense which is before the LORD in the meeting tent. The rest of the bullock's blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of holocausts which is at the entrance of the meeting tent.
8 Il enlèvera ensuite toute la graisse du taureau sacrifié pour le péché, la graisse qui enveloppe les entrailles et celle qui y est attachée,	8 From the sin-offering bullock he shall remove all the fat: the fatty membrane over the inner organs, and all the fat that adheres to them,
9 les deux rognons avec la graisse qui les recouvre et celle qui les entoure, enfin l’enveloppe du foie qu’il détachera près des rognons.	9 as well as the two kidneys, with the fat on them near the loins, and the lobe of the liver, which he must sever above the kidneys.
10 Il agira de la même manière que dans les sacrifices de communion: il fera fumer le tout sur l’autel des holocaustes.	10 This is the same as is removed from the ox of the peace offering; and the priest shall burn it on the altar of holocausts.
11 Mais la peau du taureau, la chair avec la tête, les jambes, les entrailles et les excréments - le taureau tout entier -	11 The hide of the bullock and all its flesh, with its head, legs, inner organs and offal,
12 on l’emportera hors du camp, à l’endroit où l’on jette les cendres. C’est là qu’il sera brûlé sur un feu de bois.	12 in short, the whole bullock, shall be brought outside the camp to a clean place where the ashes are deposited and there be burned up in a wood fire. At the place of the ash heap, there it must be burned.
13 Si toute la communauté des Israélites a péché involontairement, s’ils ont commis sans s’en rendre compte l’une de ces choses que Yahvé a défendu de faire,	13 "If the whole community of Israel inadvertently and without even being aware of it does something that the LORD has forbidden and thus makes itself guilty,
14 la communauté offrira, dès qu’elle aura pris conscience du péché qu’elle a commis, un jeune taureau en sacrifice pour le péché. On le conduira devant la Tente du Rendez-Vous,	14 should it later on become known that the sin was committed, the community shall present a young bull as a sin offering. They shall bring it before the meeting tent,
15 puis les anciens de la communauté poseront leurs mains sur la tête du taureau, devant Yahvé. Là on égorgera le taureau.	15 and here, before the LORD, the elders of the community shall lay their hands on the bullock's head. When the bullock has been slaughtered before the LORD,
16 Le prêtre qui a reçu l’onction portera du sang du taureau à l’intérieur de la Tente du Rendez-Vous.	16 the anointed priest shall bring some of its blood into the meeting tent,
17 Il trempera son doigt dans le sang et fera sept fois l’aspersion devant Yahvé, face au rideau.	17 and dipping his finger in the blood, he shall sprinkle it seven times before the LORD, toward the veil.
18 Il mettra du sang sur les cornes de l’autel qui est devant Yahvé, dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous, et il versera le reste du sang au pied de l’autel des holocaustes qui se trouve à l’entrée de la Tente du Rendez-Vous.	18 He shall also put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense which is before the LORD in the meeting tent. The rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of holocausts which is at the entrance of the meeting tent.
19 Il enlèvera ensuite toute la graisse du taureau et la fera fumer sur l’autel.	19 All of its fat he shall take from it and burn on the altar,
20 Il fera pour ce taureau comme pour le taureau immolé pour le péché du prêtre: on agira de la même façon. Le prêtre fera ainsi le rite d’expiation pour le peuple, et il sera pardonné.	20 doing with this bullock just as he did with the other sin-offering bullock. Thus the priest shall make atonement for them, and they will be forgiven.
21 Il emportera le taureau hors du camp et le brûlera comme le premier taureau: c’est le sacrifice pour le péché de la communauté.	21 This bullock must also be brought outside the camp and burned, just as has been prescribed for the other one. This is the sin offering for the community.
22 Si un chef a péché, s’il s’est rendu coupable en faisant par erreur une de ces choses que Yahvé son Dieu a défendu de faire,	22 "Should a prince commit a sin inadvertently by doing one of the things which are forbidden by some commandment of the LORD, his God, and thus become guilty,
23 il amènera pour son offrande un bouc mâle sans défaut, dès qu’il se sera rendu compte du péché qu’il a commis.	23 if later on he learns of the sin he committed, he shall bring as his offering an unblemished male goat.
24 Il posera sa main sur la tête du bouc et l’égorgera à l’endroit où l’on égorge les holocaustes pour Yahvé, car c’est un sacrifice pour le péché.	24 Having laid his hands on its head, he shall slaughter the goat as a sin offering before the LORD, in the place where the holocausts are slaughtered.
25 Le prêtre prendra avec son doigt du sang de la victime pour le péché, il en mettra sur les cornes de l’autel des holocaustes, et versera le reste du sang au pied de cet autel.	25 The priest shall then take some of the blood of the sin offering on his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of holocausts. The rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of this altar.
26 Puis il fera fumer toute la graisse sur l’autel, comme on fait pour la graisse des sacrifices de communion. C’est ainsi que le prêtre fera l’expiation du péché pour cet homme, et celui-ci sera pardonné.	26 All of the fat he shall burn on the altar like the fat of the peace offering. Thus the priest shall make atonement for the prince's sin, and it will be forgiven.
27 Si quelqu’un du peuple du pays a péché par erreur, s’il s’est rendu coupable en faisant une de ces choses que Yahvé a défendu de faire:	27 "If a private person commits a sin inadvertently by doing one of the things which are forbidden by the commandments of the LORD, and thus becomes guilty,
28 il amènera comme offrande pour le péché qu’il a commis une chèvre, une femelle sans défaut.	28 should he later on learn of the sin he committed, he shall bring an unblemished she-goat as the offering for his sin.
29 Il posera sa main sur la tête de la bête et l’égorgera dans le lieu où l’on offre les holocaustes.	29 Having laid his hand on the head of the sin offering, he shall slaughter it at the place of the holocausts.
30 Le prêtre prendra avec son doigt du sang de la victime; il en mettra sur les cornes de l’autel des holocaustes et versera le reste du sang au pied de cet autel.	30 The priest shall then take some of its blood on his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of holocausts. The rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar.
31 Il enlèvera toute la graisse, comme on le fait dans le sacrifice de communion, et le prêtre la fera fumer sur l’autel, comme agréable odeur pour Yahvé. C’est ainsi que le prêtre fera l’expiation pour cet homme, et celui-ci sera pardonné.	31 All the fat shall be removed, just as the fat is removed from the peace offering, and the priest shall burn it on the altar for an odor pleasing to the LORD. Thus the priest shall make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven.
32 S’il amène une jeune brebis en sacrifice pour le péché, il prendra une femelle sans défaut.	32 "If, however, for his sin offering he presents a lamb, he shall bring an unblemished female.
33 Il posera sa main sur la tête de la bête et l’égorgera en sacrifice pour le péché à l’endroit où l’on immole les holocaustes.	33 Having laid his hand on its head, he shall slaughter this sin offering in the place where the holocausts are slaughtered.
34 Le prêtre prendra avec son doigt du sang de la victime, il en mettra sur les cornes de l’autel des holocaustes et il versera le reste du sang au pied de cet autel.	34 The priest shall then take some of the blood of the sin offering on his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of holocausts. The rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar.
35 Il enlèvera toute la graisse comme on enlève la graisse de l’agneau dans le sacrifice de communion. Le prêtre la fera fumer sur l’autel par-dessus les sacrifices par le feu pour Yahvé. C’est ainsi que le prêtre fera l’expiation pour cet homme, pour le péché qu’il a commis, et cet homme sera pardonné.	35 All the fat shall be removed, just as the fat is removed from the peace-offering lamb, and the priest shall burn it on the altar with the other oblations of the LORD. Thus the priest shall make atonement for the man's sin, and it will be forgiven.
