1 Cantique des montées. Vers le Seigneur, du milieu de ma détresse, j’ai crié attendant sa réponse.	1 A Canticle in steps. I have lifted up my eyes to the mountains; from thence help will come to me.
2 Sauve-moi, Seigneur, de la lèvre menteuse, de la langue bonne pour calomnier.	2 My help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
3 Que va-t-on lui donner, que va-t-on lui souhaiter, à cette langue médisante?	3 May he not allow your foot to be moved, and may he not slumber, who guards you.
4 Les flèches à pointe de l’archer durcies sur des braises de genêt.	4 Behold, he who guards Israel will neither sleep, nor slumber.
5 C’est là ma malchance: je vis avec des sauvages, j’habite au milieu de pillards.	5 The Lord is your keeper, the Lord is your protection, above your right hand.
6 Mon âme trouve long son séjour entre ceux qui détestent la paix.	6 The sun will not burn you by day, nor the moon by night.
7 Je suis pour la paix, mais que dirai-je? Eux ne pensent qu’à se battre.	7 The Lord guards you from all evil. May the Lord guard your soul.
	8 May the Lord guard your entrance and your exit, from this time forward and even forever.
