1 Yahvé s’adressa à Moïse et lui dit:	1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
2 “Tu demanderas aux Israélites de verser une contribution pour moi, et tu recevras toutes leurs offrandes volontaires.	2 'Tel the Israelites to set aside a contribution for me; you wil accept a contribution from everyonewhose heart prompts him to give it.
3 Voici les produits que tu accepteras en contribution: l’or, l’argent et le cuivre,	3 And this is what you wil accept from them: gold, silver and bronze;
4 la pourpre violette et la pourpre rouge, la teinture rouge, le lin fin, les poils de chèvres,	4 materials dyed violet-purple, red-purple and crimson, fine linen, goats' hair;
5 les peaux de béliers teintes en rouge, la peau de poisson et le bois d’acacia,	5 rams' skins dyed red, fine leather, acacia wood;
6 l’huile pour la lumière, le parfum pour l’huile et pour l’encens,	6 oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and fragrant incense;
7 les pierres d’onyx et les pierres précieuses pour l’éphod et pour le pectoral.	7 cornelian and other stones to be set in the ephod and breastplate.
8 Car ils vont me faire un sanctuaire, pour que j’habite au milieu d’eux.	8 Make me a sanctuary so that I can reside among them.
9 Ce sanctuaire, et tous les objets qui y seront, vous les ferez selon les plans que je te ferai voir.	9 You will make it al according to the design for the Dwel ing and the design for its furnishings which Ishall now show you.
10 Ils feront donc une Arche en bois d’acacia, sa longueur sera de deux coudées et demie, sa largeur d’une coudée et demie et sa hauteur d’une coudée et demie.	10 'You must make me an ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, one and a half cubits wide andone and a half cubits high.
11 Tu la recouvriras d’or fin, à l’intérieur comme à l’extérieur, et tu feras tout autour une bordure en or.	11 You wil overlay it, inside and out, with pure gold and make a gold moulding al round it.
12 Tu fondras quatre anneaux d’or et tu les placeras sur les quatre pieds: deux anneaux d’un côté, deux anneaux de l’autre côté.	12 You wil cast four gold rings for it and fix them to its four supports: two rings on one side and tworings on the other.
13 Tu feras des barres en bois d’acacia, et tu les recouvriras d’or.	13 You wil also make shafts of acacia wood and overlay them with gold
14 Pour porter l’arche, tu passeras les barres dans les anneaux qui sont sur les côtés de l’Arche.	14 and pass the shafts through the rings on the sides of the ark, by which to carry it.
15 Les barres resteront dans les anneaux de l’Arche, on ne les retirera pas.	15 The shafts wil stay in the rings of the ark and not be withdrawn.
16 Tu placeras dans l’Arche le Témoignage que je te donnerai.	16 Inside the ark you wil put the Testimony which I am about to give you.
17 Le couvercle sera en or fin, sa longueur sera de deux coudées et demie et sa largeur d’une coudée et demie, ce sera l’Instrument de l’Expiation.	17 'You wil also make a mercy-seat of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and one and a half cubitswide,
18 Tu feras ensuite deux chérubins d’or. Tu les feras en or massif et tu les placeras aux extrémités du couvercle.	18 and you wil model two great winged creatures of beaten gold, you wil make them at the two ends ofthe mercy-seat.
19 Il y aura un chérubin à une extrémité, un chérubin à l’autre extrémité. Les chérubins ressortiront sur le couvercle aux deux bouts.	19 Model one of the winged creatures at one end and the other winged creature at the other end; youwil model the winged creatures of a piece with the mercy-seat at either end.
20 Les chérubins étendront les deux ailes vers le haut, et ces ailes protégeront l’Instrument de l’Expiation. Leurs faces seront tournées l’une vers l’autre, et les faces des chérubins regarderont vers l’Instrument de l’Expiation.	20 The winged creatures must have their wings spread upwards, protecting the mercy-seat with theirwings and facing each other, their faces being towards the mercy-seat.
21 Tu placeras l’Instrument de l’Expiation sur l’Arche, et tu placeras dans l’Arche le Témoignage que je te donnerai.	21 You wil put the mercy-seat on the top of the ark, and inside the ark you will put the Testimony which Iam about to give you.
22 C’est là que je viendrai à ta rencontre: je te parlerai de dessus l’Instrument du Pardon, entre les deux chérubins posés sur l’Arche du Témoignage, afin de te donner mes ordres pour les Israélites.	22 There I shall come to meet you; from above the mercy-seat, from between the two winged creatureswhich are on the ark of the Testimony, I shall give you al my orders for the Israelites.
23 Tu feras une table en bois d’acacia. Sa longueur sera de deux coudées, sa largeur d’une coudée, sa hauteur d’une coudée et demie.	23 'You must also make a table of acacia wood, two cubits long, one cubit wide and one and a halfcubits high.
24 Tu la recouvriras d’or fin et tu feras une bordure en or, tout autour.	24 You wil overlay it with pure gold, and make a gold moulding al round it.
25 Tu lui feras un encadrement de la largeur d’une main, et tu feras une bordure en or pour l’encadrement.	25 You wil fit it with struts of a hand's breadth and make a gold moulding round the struts.
26 Tu feras quatre anneaux d’or que tu placeras aux quatre coins, à la hauteur des quatre pieds;	26 You wil make four gold rings for it and fix the four rings at the four corners where the four legs are.
27 les anneaux d’or seront à côté de l’encadrement, on y passera les barres pour porter la table.	27 The rings must lie close to the struts to hold the shafts for carrying the table.
28 Tu feras les barres en bois d’acacia et tu les recouvriras d’or: elles serviront pour porter la table.	28 You must make the shafts of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. The table must be carried bythese.
29 Tu feras aussi les plats et les assiettes, les gobelets et les tasses avec lesquels on versera les offrandes liquides. Ils seront en or fin.	29 You must make dishes, cups, jars and libation bowls for it; you must make these of pure gold,
30 Tu placeras sur la table devant moi, en permanence, les pains de proposition.	30 and on the table, in my presence, you wil always put the loaves of permanent offering.
31 Tu feras aussi un chandelier d’or pur. Le chandelier sera en or massif, avec sa tige et ses branches; ses coupes, ses boutons et ses fleurs ne feront qu’un avec lui.	31 'You wil also make a lamp-stand of pure gold; the lamp-stand must be of beaten gold, base andstem. Its cups, calyxes and petals, must be of a piece with it.
32 Six branches sortiront sur les côtés, trois d’un côté du chandelier, trois de l’autre.	32 Six branches must spring from its sides: three of the lamp-stand's branches from one side, three ofthe lamp-stand's branches from the other.
33 Il y aura sur une branche trois coupes en forme d’amandes, avec boutons et fleurs, et sur l’autre branche, trois coupes en forme d’amandes, avec boutons et fleurs. Ainsi, six branches sortiront du chandelier.	33 The first branch must carry three cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with its calyx and petals;the second branch, too, must carry three cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with its calyx and bud, andsimilarly for all six branches springing from the lamp-stand.
34 Quant au chandelier, il aura quatre coupes en forme d’amandes avec boutons et fleurs:	34 The lamp-stand itself must carry four cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with its calyx and bud:
35 un bouton sous deux branches qui partent du chandelier, un bouton sous les deux autres branches, et un bouton sous les deux dernières branches. Ce sera pareil pour les six branches du chandelier.	35 one calyx under the first two branches springing from the lamp-stand, one calyx under the next pairof branches and one calyx under the last pair of branches -- thus for al six branches springing from the lamp-stand.
36 Les boutons et les branches ne feront qu’un avec lui: le tout ne fera qu’une seule pièce d’or fin.	36 The calyxes and the branches wil be of a piece with the lamp-stand, and the whole made from asingle piece of pure gold, beaten out.
37 Tu feras sept lampes pour le chandelier, elles seront montées de façon à éclairer de face.	37 You wil also make seven lamps for it and mount the lamps in such a way that they light up the spacein front of it.
38 Les ciseaux pour couper les mèches et les cendriers seront d’or fin.	38 The snuffers and trays must be of pure gold.
39 On prendra 35 kilos d’or fin pour le chandelier et tous les accessoires.	39 You wil use a talent of pure gold for the lamp-stand and al its accessories;
40 Veille donc à tout faire selon le plan qui t’a été montré sur la montagne.	40 and see that you work to the design which was shown you on the mountain.'
