1 Poučna pjesma. Asafova. Zašto si, Bože, posve zabacio, zašto kiptiš gnjevom na ovce paše svoje?	1 [Poem Of Asaph] God, why have you final y rejected us, your anger blazing against the flock you usedto pasture?
2 Sjeti se zajednice koju si davno stekao, plemena koje namače kao svoju baštinu i brda Siona gdje si šator svoj udario!	2 Remember the people you took to yourself long ago, your own tribe which you redeemed, and thisMount Zion where you came to live.
3 Korakni k ruševinama vječnim – sve je u Svetištu razorio neprijatelj.	3 Come up to these endless ruins! The enemy have sacked everything in the sanctuary;
4 Protivnici tvoji vikahu posred skupštine tvoje, znakove svoje postaviše k’o pobjedne znakove.	4 your opponents made uproar in the place of assemblies, they fixed their emblems over the entrance,emblems
5 Bijahu kao oni koji mašu sjekirom po guštari,	5 never known before. Their axes deep in the wood,
6 sjekirom i maljem vrata mu razbijali.	6 hacking at the panels, they battered them down with axe and pick;
7 Ognju predadoše svetište tvoje, do zemlje oskvrnuše prebivalište tvoga imena.	7 they set fire to your sanctuary, profanely rased to the ground the dwel ing-place of your name.
8 Rekoše u srcu: »Istrijebimo ih zajedno; spalite sva svetišta Božja na zemlji!«	8 They said to themselves, 'Let us crush them at one stroke!' They burned down every sacred shrine inthe land.
9 Ne vidimo znakova svojih, proroka više nema, i nitko među nama ne zna dokle ...	9 We see no signs, no prophet any more, and none of us knows how long it wil last.
10 Dokle će se još, o Bože, dušmanin rugati? Hoće li protivnik dovijeka prezirati ime tvoje?	10 How much longer, God, will the enemy blaspheme? Is the enemy to insult your name for ever?
11 Zašto povlačiš ruku, zašto u krilu sakrivaš desnicu svoju?	11 Why hold back your hand, keep your right hand hidden in the folds of your robe?
12 No Bog je moj kralj od davnine, on koji posred zemlje spašava!	12 Yet, God, my king from the first, author of saving acts throughout the earth,
13 Ti svojom silom rasječe more, smrska glave nakazama u vodi.	13 by your power you split the sea in two, and smashed the heads of the monsters on the waters.
14 Ti si Levijatanu glave zdrobio, dao ga za hranu nemanima morskim.	14 You crushed Leviathan's heads, gave him as food to the wild animals.
15 Ti si dao da provre izvor i bujica, ti si presušio rijeke nepresušne.	15 You released the springs and brooks, and turned primordial rivers into dry land.
16 Tvoj je dan i noć je tvoja, ti ùčvrsti mjesec i sunce;	16 Yours is the day and yours the night, you caused sun and light to exist,
17 ti sazda sve granice zemlji, ti stvori ljeto i zimu.	17 you fixed all the boundaries of the earth, you created summer and winter.
18 Spomeni se ovoga: dušmanin ti se rugaše, Jahve, i bezumni narod pogrdi ime tvoje.	18 Remember, Yahweh, the enemy's blasphemy, a foolish people insults your name.
19 Ne predaj jastrebu život grlice svoje, i život svojih siromaha ne zaboravi zauvijek!	19 Do not surrender your turtledove to the beast; do not forget for ever the life of your oppressed people.
20 Pogledaj na savez svoj, jer svi su zakutci zemlje puni tmina i nasilja.	20 Look to the covenant! Al the hiding-places of the land are ful , haunts of violence.
21 Ne daj da jadnik otiđe postiđen: neka siromah i ubog hvale ime tvoje!	21 Do not let the downtrodden retreat in confusion, give the poor and needy cause to praise your name.
22 Ustani, Bože, zauzmi se za svoju parnicu, spomeni se pogrde koju ti bezumnik svaki dan nanosi.	22 Arise, God, champion your own cause, remember how fools blaspheme you all day long!
23 Ne zaboravi vike neprijatelja svojih: buka buntovnika još se diže k tebi!	23 Do not forget the shouting of your enemies, the ever-mounting uproar of your adversaries.
