1 Ma vedendo Iesù le turbe, salì in sul monte; (puosesi a sedere), e sedendo egli, i discepoli suoi andorono a lui.	1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2 Ed egli incominciò a (parlare e) ammaestrare Joro, dicendo:	2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
3 Beati li poveri per spirito; imperò che di loro è il regno del cielo.	3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Beati li miti; imperò che possederanno la terra.	4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Beati coloro che piangono; imperò che saranno consolati.	5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Beati coloro che hanno fame e sete della giustizia; imperò che saranno saziati.	6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Beati i misericordiosi; imperò che troveranno misericordia.	7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Beati coloro che sono mondi di cuore; imperò che vederanno Iddio.	8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Beati li pacifici; imperò che saranno chiamati figliuoli di Dio.	9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Beati coloro che patiscano persecuzione per la giustizia; imperò che di loro è il reame del cielo.	10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Beati sarete, quando li uomini vi malediranno, e perseguiteranno, e diranno contra di voi ogni male, mentendo egli, per amor mio.	11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Godete e rallegratevi imperò che la mercede vostra copiosa è in cielo; perchè così perseguitorono li profeti che furono innanzi da voi.	12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
13 Voi sete il sale della terra. Se il sale si estinguerà, in che si salerà? A nulla vale più, se non da metterlo fuori, e serà conculcato dagli uomini.	13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Voi sete la luce del mondo. Non si può ascondere la città ch' è posta sopra il monte.	14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 La lucerna, quando s' accende, non si pone sotto lo staio, ma sopra il candeliere, acciò ch' ella faccia lume a tutti quelli che sono in casa.	15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Così risplenderà la luce vostra dinanzi dagli uomini, acciò che veggano le vostre buone opere, e che glorifichino il padre vostro il quale è in cielo.	16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
17 Non vogliate pensare ch' io sia venuto a sciogliere la legge ovver li profeti; non sono venuto a guastare, ma adempiere.	17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 In verità vi dico, che insino a tanto che trapassi il cielo e la terra, una minima particella della legge non mancherà (nè verrà meno), insino che tutte queste cose non siano fatte.	18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Ma qualunque (vorrà insegnare, e) non farà uno di questi (miei) minimi comandamenti, e insegnerà così alli uomini, sarà chiamato minimo nel reame del cielo; ma qualunque osserverà, e così (ad altri) insegnerà, sarà chiamato grande nel regno del cielo.	19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 Ma io vi dico, che se la vostra giustizia non abbonderà più che quella de' Scribi e Farisei, non intrarete nel regno de' cieli.	20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
21 Avete udito ch' egli è detto dalli antiqui: non ucciderai; colui che ucciderà, sarà degno del giudicio.	21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 Ma io vi dico, che ogni uomo che si adirarà contro il suo fratello, sarà degno del giudicio; e colui che dirà al suo fratello: sei pazzo, sarà degno di consiglio colui che dirà: pazzo, sarà degno del fuoco eternale.	22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
23 Se adunque offerisci il tuo dono all' altare, e quivi sarai arricordato che il tuo fratello ha contra. di te alcuna cosa,	23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
24 lasia quivi il tuo dono dinanzi all' altare; e vattene, e prima ti riconcilia col tuo fratello, dopo venendo offerirai il tuo dono.	24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
25 Sii presto consenziente al tuo avversario, mentre che sei con lui nella via, acciò forse il tuo avversario non ti ponga in mano del giudice, e il giudice ponga te nella mano del ministro, e sii posto in prigione..	25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
26 In verità io ti dico: d' indi non uscirai, insino che non li restituisci insino al minimo quadrante.	26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
27 Avete udito dalli antiqui: non fornicarai.	27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 Ma io vi dico, che ogni uomo che vederà la femina con desiderio carnale, già egli ha fornicato con quella nel suo cuore.	28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
29 Che se il tuo occhio destro ti scandalizza, cavalo e gittalo da te; imperò che a te è meglio che perisca uno de' tuoi membri, che tutto il tuo corpo sia posto nella fiamma del fuoco.	29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
30 E se la tua mano dritta ti scandalizza, tagliala e gittala da te; e' ti è meglio che perisca uno de' tuoi membri, che tutto il tuo corpo vadi nell' ardente fuoco.	30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut if off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
31 Ed etiam egli è detto: ogni uomo che lascerà la mogliere sua, a lei doni il libello di repudio.	31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
32 Ma io vi dico, che ogni uomo che lascerà la sua mogliere, salvo per cagione di fornicazione, fa ella esser meretrice; e colui che dopo che l'averà lassata se la retorrà, commette adulterio.	32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
33 Ancora avete udito dalli antiqui: non spergiurerai, ma renderai al Signore li tuoi giuramenti.	33 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
34 Ma io vi dico, che non giuriate per niuno modo; nè per il cielo, imperò ch' egli è il trono di Dio;	34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
35 nè per la terra, chè egli è il scabello dei suoi piedi; nè per Ierosolima, imperò ch' ella è città del grande re.	35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
36 E non giurerai per il tuo capo, imperò che non puoi fare uno capillo bianco ovver nigro.	36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
37 Ma il vostro parlare sia: egli è, e no, no; e tutto quello ch' egli è più di questo, egli è male.	37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
38 Avete udito ch' egli è detto: sarà l'occhio per l'occhio, e il dente per il dente.	38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
39 E io vi dico, che non è da resistere all' iniquo; ma se alcuno ti percuoterà nella guancia diritta, porgili l'altra.	39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 E a quello che vuole teco contendere in giudicio, e tòrti le vestimenta, lassali etiam il mantello.	40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
41 E qualunque che ti averà affaticato per mille passi, vattene con lui etiam due altri milia.	41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
42 E colui che a te domanda, dàgli; e non ti volgere dal dimandante a te ad imprestito.	42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
43 Avete udito che si diceva: amerai l'amico tuo, e in odio averai l' inimico tuo.	43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 E io vi dico: amate li vostri inimici, e fate bene a coloro che vi hanno in odio, e pregate per cui vi persèguita e calunnia,	44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 acciò che siate figliuoli del padre vostro che è in cielo, il qual fa nascere il sole sopra gli giusti e ingiusti, e fa piovere sopra li buoni e sopra li rei.	45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 Imperò che se voi amate coloro che amano voi, che mercede avete voi? imperò ch' e' pubblicani fanno questo.	46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 E se solamente voi salutarete li vostri fratelli, che più farete? imperò che questo fanno li pagani.	47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48 E imperò siate perfetti, come il vostro padre celestiale il qual è perfetto.	48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
