BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Intelletto di Asaf (ovver, secondo alcuni, ammaestramenti di Asaf). Il perchè, Iddio, mi hai tu sospinto in fine; adirato è il tuo furore sopra le pecore della tua pastura?	1 [Psalm Of Asaph] Indeed God is good to Israel, the Lord to those who are pure of heart.
2 Ricordati della tua congregazione, la qual possedesti da principio. Ricomprasti la bacchetta della [tua] eredità; il monte di Sion nel quale abitasti.	2 My feet were on the point of stumbling, a little more and I had slipped,
3 Leva le tue mani contra loro superbia nella fine; quanta malignità ha fatto l'inimico contra il santo!	3 envying the arrogant as I did, and seeing the prosperity of the wicked.
4 E quelli che ti hanno odiato si sono gloriati, in mezzo della tua solennità. Posero li suoi segni,	4 For them no such thing as pain, untroubled, their comfortable portliness;
5 e non conobbero, come nell' esito sopra all'alto (tempio).	5 exempt from the cares which are the human lot, they have no part in Adam's afflictions.
6 E tagliorono le sue porte con le scuri, come si fa nelle selve le legne; nella scure e mannaia dissiporono quelle.	6 So pride is a necklace to them, violence the garment they wear.
7 Col fuoco abbruciorono il tuo santuario; in terra maculorono il tabernacolo del tuo nome.	7 From their fat oozes out malice, their hearts drip with cunning.
8 Dissero nel suo cuore, insieme loro parentato: facciamo cessare dalla terra tutti i giorni festivi di Dio.	8 Cynical y they advocate evil, loftily they advocate force.
9 Non abbiamo veduti li nostri segni, già non è profeta; e più non ci conoscerà.	9 Their mouth claims heaven for themselves, and their tongue is never stil on earth.
10 Insino quando, Iddio, improperarà l' inimico; provoca ad ira l'avversario il nome tuo in fine?	10 That is why my people turn to them, and enjoy the waters of plenty,
11 Il per che rimuovi la tua mano, e la destra tua, dal tuo petto nella fine?	11 saying, 'How can God know? What knowledge can the Most High have?'
12 Ma Iddio, nostro re inanzi il mondo, operò la salute in mezzo della terra.	12 That is what the wicked are like, piling up wealth without any worries.
13 Nella tua virtù confirmasti il mare; contribulasti li capi de' draconi nell' acque.	13 Was it useless, then, to have kept my own heart clean, to have washed my hands in innocence?
14 Tu spezzasti il capo del dracone; (per che) destilo in cibo alli popoli di Etiopia.	14 When I was under a hail of blows al day long, and punished every morning,
15 Tu spezzasti le fontane e li torrenti; tu seccasti li fiumi di Etan.	15 had I said, 'I shal talk like them,' I should have betrayed your children's race.
16 Tuo è il dì, e tua è la notte; tu facesti l' aurora e il sole.	16 So I set myself to understand this: how difficult I found it!
17 Tu facesti tutti gli termini della terra; la estate e il verno, tu formasti quelli.	17 Until I went into the sanctuaries of the gods and understood what was destined to become of them.
18 Ricòrdati di questo: nemico, egli ha improperato al Signore; e il popolo insipiente ha incitato il tuo nome.	18 You place them on a slippery slope and drive them down into chaos.
19 Non dare l' anime delli tuoi confitenti alle bestie; e non ti dimenticare nella fine dell' anime de' tuoi poveri.	19 How sudden their hideous destruction! They are swept away, annihilated by terror!
20 Risguarda nel tuo testamento; per che sono riempiuti quelli che sono oscurati della terra, nelle case della iniquità.	20 Like a dream upon waking, Lord, when you awake, you dismiss their image.
21 Non si parta da te l'umile, fatto confuso; il povero e bisognoso lodaranno il tuo nome.	21 My heart grew embittered, my affections dried up,
22 Lèvati, Iddio, giudica la tua cagione; arricòrdati delli tuoi improperii, di quelli che sono fatti tutto il giorno dall' insipiente.	22 I was stupid and uncomprehending, a clumsy animal in your presence.
23 Non ti dismenticare le voci de' tuoi nemici; la superbia di quelli, che ti hanno in odio, monta sempre.	23 Even so, I stayed in your presence, you grasped me by the right hand;
	24 you will guide me with advice, and wil draw me in the wake of your glory.
	25 Who else is there for me in heaven? And, with you, I lack nothing on earth.
	26 My heart and my flesh are pining away: my heart's rock, my portion, God for ever!
	27 Truly, those who abandon you will perish; you destroy those who adulterously desert you,
	28 whereas my happiness is to be near God. I have made the Lord Yahweh my refuge, to tel of al yourworks.
