Jeremiah 7

NEW JERUSALEM	Biblia Matos Soares
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,	1 Palavra que o Senhor dirigiu a Jeremias, nos termos seguintes:
2 'Stand at the gate of the Temple of Yahweh and there proclaim this message. Say, "Listen to the word ofYahweh, al you of Judah who come in by these gates to worship Yahweh.	2 Põe-te em pé, à porta da casa do Senhor, e prega aí estas palavras: Ouvi a palavra do Senhor, vós todos, ó filhos de Judá, que entrais por estas portas para adorar o Senhor.
3 Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this: Amend your behaviour and your actions and I will let youstay in this place.	3 Eis o que diz o Senhor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Tornai bons os vossos caminhos e as vossas obras, e eu habitarei convosco neste lugar.
4 Do not put your faith in delusive words, such as: This is Yahweh's sanctuary, Yahweh's sanctuary,Yahweh's sanctuary!	4 Não ponhais a vossa confiança em palavras de mentira (dos) que dizem: É este o templo do Senhor, o templo do Senhor, o templo do Senhor!
5 But if you really amend your behaviour and your actions, if you real y treat one another fairly,	5 Mas se dirigirdes bem os vossos caminhos, se emendardes as vossas obras, se fizerdes justiça aos que pleiteiam entre si,
6 if you do not exploit the stranger, the orphan and the widow, if you do not shed innocent blood in thisplace and if you do not fol ow other gods, to your own ruin,	6 se não oprimirdes o peregrino, o órfão e a viúva, nem derramardes o sangue inocente neste lugar, se não andardes após os deuses alheios, para vossa desgraça,
7 then I shall let you stay in this place, in the country I gave for ever to your ancestors of old.	7 então habitarei convosco neste lugar, nesta terra que dei a vossos pais, pelos séculos dos séculos.
8 Look, you are putting your faith in delusive, worthless words!	8 Contudo, eis que confiais, para vosso mal, em palavras de mentira, que vos não servirão para nada.
9 Steal, would you, murder, commit adultery, perjure yourselves, burn incense to Baal, follow other godsof whom you know nothing? -	9 Pois quê! Furtar, matar, adulterar, jurar falso, sacrificar a Baal e ir após os deuses estranhos, que não conheceis,
10 and then come and stand before me in this Temple that bears my name, saying: Now we are safe to goon doing al these loathsome things!	10 e (depois disto) vir à minha presença nesta casa, onde o meu nome é invocado, e dizer: Estamos livres (de todo o mal) - com a ideia de continuar a cometer todas estas abominações!
11 Do you look on this Temple that bears my name as a den of bandits? I, at any rate, can see straight,Yahweh declares.	11 Logo, esta minha casa, onde é invocado o meu nome, é, a vossos olhos, um covil de ladrões? Eu, eu também vi (as vossas abominações), diz o Senhor.
12 "Now go to the place which used to be mine at Shiloh, where I once gave my name a home; see what Ihave done to it because of the wickedness of my people Israel!	12 Ide ao meu santuário, a Silo, onde habitou o meu nome, a princípio, e vede o que eu lhe fiz por causa da malícia do meu povo de Israel.
13 And now, since you have done al these things, Yahweh declares, and refused to listen when I spokeso urgently, so persistently, or to answer when I cal ed you,	13 E agora, porque tendes feito todas estas obras, diz o Senhor, e porque, quando vos falei e avisei com tempo, não me ouvistes, quando vos chamei, não me respondestes,
14 I shal treat this Temple that bears my name, and in which you put your heart, the place that I gave youand your ancestors, just as I treated Shiloh,	14 farei a esta casa onde o meu nome é invocado e na qual pondes a vossa confiança, a este lugar, que vos dei a vós e a vossos pais, (farei, digo) o mesmo que fiz a Silo;
15 and I shal drive you out of my sight, as I did al your kinsfolk, the whole race of Ephraim."	15 lançar-vos-ei para longe da minha face, como lancei todos os vossos irmãos, toda a linhagem de Efraim.
16 'You, for your part, must not intercede for this people, nor raise either plea or prayer on their behalf; donot plead with me, for I wil not listen to you.	16 Tu pois (Jeremias) não rogues por este povo, não faças por eles lamentações nem preces, não insistas comigo, porque não te ouvirei.
17 Can you not see what they are doing in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?	17 Não vês tu o que eles fazem nas cidades de Judá e nas praças de Jerusalém?
18 The children collect the wood, the fathers light the fire, the women knead the dough, to make cakes forthe Queen of Heaven; and, to spite me, they pour libations to alien gods.	18 Os filhos juntam a lenha, os pais acendem o fogo, as mulheres preparam a massa a fim de fazerem tortas para a rainha do céu; depois fazem libações a deuses estranhos, para me ofenderem.
19 Is it real y me they spite, Yahweh demands, is it not in fact themselves, to their own confusion?	19 Porventura é a mim que eles ofendem, diz o Senhor? Não é antes a si mesmos que fazem mal, para confusão do seu rosto?
20 So, Lord Yahweh says this, "My anger, my wrath wil be poured down on this place, on man and beast,on the trees of the countryside and the fruits of the soil; it wil burn, and not be quenched."	20 Portanto isto diz o Senhor Deus: Eis que o meu furor, a minha indignação, está para cair sobre este lugar, sobre os homens e sobre os animais, sobre as árvores dos campos e sobre os frutos da terra; acender-se-á e não se apagará.
21 'Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this, "Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices and eat allthe meat.	21 Isto diz o Senhor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Juntais os vossos holocaustos aos vossos sacrifícios, e comei as suas carnes.
22 For when I brought your ancestors out of Egypt, I said nothing to them, gave them no orders, aboutburnt offerings or sacrifices.	22 Não falei com vossos pais, nem lhes mandei, no dia em que os tirei da terra do Egito, coisa alguma acerca dos holocaustos e dos sacrifícios,
23 My one command to them was this: Listen to my voice, then I wil be your God and you shal be mypeople. In everything, fol ow the way that I mark out for you, and you shal prosper.	23 mas eis o que lhe ordenei: Ouvi a minha voz, e eu serei o vosso Deus e vós sereis o meu povo; andai por todo o caminho que eu vos prescrevo, para serdes felizes.
24 But they did not listen, they did not pay attention; they followed their own devices, their own stubbornand wicked inclinations, and got worse rather than better.	24 Todavia não me ouviram, não prestaram atenção, foram após os seus apetites, segundo a dureza do seu malvado coração, voltaram para trás, em vez de irem para diante.
25 From the day your ancestors left Egypt until today, I have sent you al my servants the prophets,persistently sending them day after day.	25 Desde o dia em que vossos pais saíram da terra do Egito até hoje, eu vos enviei todos os meus servos, os profetas, cada dia me apressei a enviá-los.
26 But they have not listened to me, have not paid attention; they have deliberately resisted, behavingworse than their ancestors.	26 Porém (os filhos de Israel) não me ouviram, não me prestaram atenção mas endureceram a sua cerviz e obraram pior que seus pais.
27 So you will tel them al this, but they wil not listen to you; you wil cal them, but they wil not answeryou."	27 Tu lhes dirás todas estas palavras, mas não te ouvirão; chamá-los-ás, mas não te responderão.
28 Then you are to say to them, "This is the nation that wil neither listen to the voice of Yahweh its Godnor take correction. Sincerity is no more, it has vanished from their mouths.	28 Então lhes dirás: Esta é aquela nação que não ouviu a voz do Senhor seu Deus, não recebeu as suas instruções. Acabou-se a sua fé, desapareceu da sua boca.
29 "Cut off your tresses, throw them away! On the bare heights raise a dirge, for Yahweh has rejected,has abandoned, a brood that enrages him!"	29 Corta os teus cabelos (em sinal de luto) e lança-os fora, levanta o teu pranto nas alturas, porque o Senhor arrojou de si e abandonou a geração que excitou o seu furor.
30 'Yes, the people of Judah have done what displeases me, Yahweh declares. They have set up theirHorrors in the Temple that bears my name, to defile it,	30 Sim, os filhos de Judá cometeram o mal diante de meus olhos, diz o Senhor. Puseram os seus horrores (ou ídolos) na casa em que foi invocado o meu nome, para a profanarem;
31 and have built the high places of Topheth in the Valley of Ben-Hinnom, to burn their sons anddaughters: a thing I never ordered, that had never entered my thoughts.	31 edificaram os lugares altos de Tofet, que está no Vale do Filho de Hinnom, para queimarem no fogo os seus filhos e as suas filhas, coisa que não mandei nem me passou pelo pensamento.
32 So now the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when people will no longer say Topheth or Val ey ofBen-Hinnom, but Valley of Slaughter. Topheth wil become a burial ground, for lack of other space;	32 Por isso, dias virão, diz o Senhor, em que não se chamará mais Tofet, nem Vale do Filho de Hinnom, mas Vale da Matança. Então enterrarão em Tofet, porque não haverá mais lugar;
33 the corpses of this people will be food for the birds of the sky and the animals of earth, and there will beno one to drive them off.	33 e os cadáveres deste povo servirão de pasto às aves do céu e aos animais da terra, sem aparecer quem os enxote.
34 I shal silence the shouts of rejoicing and mirth and the voices of bridegroom and bride, in the towns ofJudah and the streets of Jerusalem, for the country will be reduced to desert.'	34 Farei que se não ouça nas cidades de Judá e nas praças de Jerusalém voz de regozijo e de alegria, cantar de esposo e cantar de esposa, porque a terra será um deserto.
