Isaiah 54

1 Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.	1 Réjouis-toi (Loue le Seigneur), stérile qui n'enfantes pas ; chante des cantiques de louanges, et pousse des cris de joie, toi qui n'avais pas d'enfants, car la délaissée a(ura) plus d'enfants que celle qui avait un mari, dit le Seigneur.
2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;	2 Elargis l'espace (l'enceinte) de ta tente ; étends les peaux de tes tabernacles, ne les épargne pas ; allonge tes cordages, et affermis tes pieux.
3 For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.	3 Car tu t'étendras à droite et à gauche ; ta postérité aura les nations pour héritage, et elle habitera les (des) villes (auparavant) désertes.
4 Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.	4 Ne crains pas, car tu ne seras pas confondue, et tu ne rougiras pas ; tu n'auras plus de honte, car tu oublieras la confusion de ta jeunesse, et tu ne te souviendras plus de l'opprobre de ton veuvage (ta viduité).
5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.	5 Car celui qui t'a créée sera ton maître, son nom est le Seigneur des armées ; et ton rédempteur, le saint d'Israël, s'appellera le Dieu de toute la terre.
6 For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.	6 Car le Seigneur t'a appelée comme une femme délaissée et à l'esprit désolé, et comme une femme répudiée dès sa jeunesse, dit ton Dieu.
7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.	7 Je t'ai abandonnée pour un peu de temps, pour un moment, et je te rassemblerai avec (dans mes) d'immenses miséricordes.
8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.	8 Dans un moment d'indignation j'ai détourné mon visage de toi pour un instant, mais j'ai eu pitié de toi par une (dans ma) miséricorde éternelle, dit le Seigneur qui t'a rachetée (ton rédempteur).
9 For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.	9 J'ai fait pour toi comme aux jours de Noé auquel j'avais juré de ne plus répandre sur la terre les eaux du déluge (de Noé, note) ; (ainsi) j'ai juré (de même) de ne plus m'irriter contre toi, et de ne plus te faire de reproches (réprimandes).
10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.	10 Car les montagnes seront ébranlées, et les collines trembleront (frémiront) ; mais ma miséricorde ne se retirera pas de toi, et mon alliance de paix ne sera pas ébranlée, dit le Seigneur, qui a compassion de toi.
11 O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.	11 Pauvre petite, qui as été (Tu es pauvre,) battue de la tempête sans aucune consolation, voici que je placerai moi-même tes pierres dans leur rang, et je te donnerai des fondements de saphirs ;
12 And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones.	12 je bâtirai tes remparts (tours) de jaspe, et tes portes de pierres sculptées (ciselées), et toute ton enceinte sera de pierres choisies (précieuses) ;
13 And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.	13 tous tes enfants seront instruits par le Seigneur, et il y aura abondance de paix (est réservée) pour tes fils.
14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.	14 Tu seras fondée sur la justice ; éloigne-toi de l'oppression (la violence), car tu n'auras plus peur (pas à craindre), et de la frayeur, car elle ne s'approchera plus de toi.
15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.	15 Il te viendra des habitants qui n'étaient pas avec moi, et celui qui autrefois t'était étranger se joindra à toi.
16 Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.	16 C'est moi qui ai créé l'ouvrier qui souffle les (dans le feu des) charbons au fer (ardents) et qui forme l'instrument pour son travail ; c'est moi aussi qui ai créé le meurtrier qui ne pense qu'à détruire.
17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.	17 Toute arme préparée contre toi manquera le but ; et toute langue qui te résistera devant le tribunal (dans le jugement) tu la jugeras. Tel est l'héritage des serviteurs du Seigneur, et leur justice est (qu'ils trouvent) auprès de moi, dit le Seigneur.
