1 Poslije toga David porazi Filistejce i pokori ih te ote Gat s njegovim selima iz filistejskih ruku.	1 After this David defeated the Philistines and subdued them. From the grip of the Philistines he wrestedGath and its dependencies.
2 Porazio je i Moapce i oni postadoše Davidovi podanici koji su mu donosili danak.	2 He also defeated the Moabites; the Moabites became David's subjects and paid him tribute.
3 David je porazio i Hadadezera, sopskoga kralja u Hamatu, kad je izišao da utvrdi svoju vlast do rijeke Eufrata.	3 David also defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah, which lies in the direction of Hamath, when the lattermounted an expedition to assert his rule on the River Euphrates.
4 David zarobi od njega tisuću bojnih kola, sedam tisuća konjanika i dvadeset tisuća pješaka; ispresijecao je petne žile svim konjima od bojnih kola, ostavio ih je samo stotinu.	4 David captured one thousand chariots, seven thousand charioteers and twenty thousand foot soldiersfrom him; David hamstrung al the chariot teams, keeping only a hundred of them.
5 Damaščanski su Aramejci bili došli u pomoć Hadadezeru, sopskome kralju, ali je David pobio među Aramejcima dvadeset i dvije tisuće ljudi.	5 The Aramaeans of Damascus came to the help of Hadadezer king of Zobah, but David kil ed twenty-two thousand of the Aramaeans.
6 Postavio je namjesnike u Damaščanskom Aramu. Tako Aramejci postadoše Davidovi podanici i moradoše mu plaćati danak. Jahve je davao pobjedu Davidu kuda je god išao.	6 David then imposed governors in Aram of Damascus, and the Aramaeans became David's subjectsand paid him tribute. Wherever David went, Yahweh gave him victory.
7 David zaplijeni zlatne štitove što ih imahu Hadadezerove sluge i donese ih u Jeruzalem.	7 David took the golden shields carried by Hadadezer's guards and brought them to Jerusalem.
8 I iz Hadadezerovih gradova Tibhata i Kuna odnio je silnu mjed od koje je Salomon načinio mjedeno more, stupove i mjedeno posuđe.	8 From Tibhath and from Cun, towns belonging to Hadadezer, David captured a great quantity ofbronze, with which Solomon made the bronze Sea, the pil ars and the bronze implements.
9 Kad je čuo hamatski kralj Tou da je David porazio svu vojsku Hadadezera, sopskoga kralja,	9 When Tou king of Hamath heard that David had defeated the entire army of Hadadezer king of Zobah,
10 posla svoga sina Hadorama kralju Davidu da ga pozdravi i da mu čestita što je vojevao protiv Hadadezera i porazio ga, jer je Tou bio u ratu s Hadadezerom; i da mu odnese svakojakih zlatnih, srebrnih i mjedenih predmeta.	10 he sent his son Hadoram to King David to greet him and to congratulate him on having made war onHadadezer and on having defeated him, since Hadadezer was at war with Tou. He also sent al sorts of objectsmade of gold, silver and bronze,
11 I njih je kralj David posvetio Jahvi sa srebrom i zlatom što ga bijaše uzeo od svih naroda, od Edomaca, Moabaca, Amonaca, Filistejaca i Amalečana.	11 which King David also consecrated to Yahweh, as wel as the silver and gold which he had leviedfrom al the nations, from Edom, Moab, the Ammonites, the Philistines and Amalek.
12 Sarvijin sin Abišaj pobio je osamnaest tisuća Edomaca u Slanoj dolini.	12 Abishai son of Zeruiah defeated the Edomites in the Val ey of Salt -- eighteen thousand of them.
13 David je postavio namjesnike po Edomu. Tako su svi Edomci postali Davidove sluge. I kuda je god David išao, Jahve mu davaše pobjedu.	13 He stationed garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites became David's subjects. Wherever Davidwent, Yahweh gave him victory.
14 David kraljevaše nad svim Izraelom čineći pravo i pravicu svemu svome narodu.	14 David ruled over all Israel, administering law and justice to al his people.
15 Sarvijin je sin Joab bio zapovjednik vojske; Ahiludov sin Jošafat bijaše tajni savjetnik.	15 Joab son of Zeruiah was in command of the army; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was herald;
16 Ahitubov sin Sadok i Ahimelekov sin Ebjatar bili su svećenici, Šavša pisar.	16 Zadok son of Ahitub and Abiathar son of Ahimelech were priests; Shusha was secretary;
17 Jojadin sin Benaja bio je nad Kerećanima i Pelećanima, a Davidovi su sinovi bili prvi do kralja.	17 Benaiah son of Jehoiada was in command of the Cherethites and Pelethites; David's sons took firstplace after the king.
