| 1 En aquel tiempo, se alzará Miguel, el gran Príncipe, que está de pie junto a los hijos de tu pueblo. Será un tiempo de tribulación, como no lo hubo jamás, desde que existe una nación hasta el tiempo presente. En aquel tiempo, será liberado tu pueblo: todo el que se encuentre inscrito en el Libro. | 1 "At that time shall arise Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time; but at that time your people shall be delivered, every one whose name shall be found written in the book. |
| 2 Y muchos de los que duermen en el suelo polvoriento se despertarán, unos para la vida eterna, y otros para la ignominia, para el horror eterno. | 2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. |
| 3 Los hombres prudentes resplandecerán como el resplandor del firmamento, y los que hayan enseñado a muchos la justicia brillarán como las estrellas, por los siglos de los siglos. | 3 And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. |
| 4 En cuanto a ti, Daniel, oculta estas palabras y sella el Libro hasta el tiempo del fin. Muchos buscarán aquí y allí, y aumentará el conocimiento. | 4 But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase." |
| 5 Yo, Daniel, miré y vi que otros dos hombres estaban de pie, uno en una orilla del río y otro en la orilla opuesta. | 5 Then I Daniel looked, and behold, two others stood, one on this bank of the stream and one on that bank of the stream. |
| 6 Uno de ellos dijo al hombre vestido de lino que estaba sobre las aguas del río: «¿Para cuándo será el fin de estos prodigios?». | 6 And I said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream, "How long shall it be till the end of these wonders?" |
| 7 Yo oí al hombre vestido de lino que estaba sobre las aguas del río. El alzó su mano derecha, y su mano izquierda hacia el cielo y juró por aquel que vive eternamente: «Pasará un tiempo, dos tiempos y la mitad de un tiempo; y cuando se haya acabado de aplastar la fuerza del pueblo santo, se acabarán también todas estas cosas». | 7 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream, raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven; and I heard him swear by him who lives for ever that it would be for a time, two times, and half a time; and that when the shattering of the power of the holy people comes to an end all these things would be accomplished. |
| 8 Yo oí, pero no entendí. Entonces dije: «Señor mío, ¿cuál será la última de estas cosas?». | 8 I heard, but I did not understand. Then I said, "O my lord, what shall be the issue of these things?" |
| 9 El respondió: «Ve Daniel, porque estas palabras están ocultas y selladas hasta el tiempo final. | 9 He said, "Go your way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end. |
| 10 Muchos serán purificados, blanqueados y acrisolados; los malvados harán el mal, y ningún malvado podrá comprender, pero los prudentes comprenderán. | 10 Many shall purify themselves, and make themselves white, and be refined; but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand; but those who are wise shall understand. |
| 11 A partir del momento en que será abolido el sacrificio perpetuo y será instalada la Abominación de la desolación, pasarán mil doscientos noventa días. | 11 And from the time that the continual burnt offering is taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate is set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. |
| 12 ¡Feliz el que sepa esperar y llegue a mil trescientos treinta y cinco días! | 12 Blessed is he who waits and comes to the thousand three hundred and thirty-five days. |
| 13 En cuanto a ti, ve hacia el fin: tú descansarás y te levantarás para recibir tu suerte al fin de los días. | 13 But go your way till the end; and you shall rest, and shall stand in your allotted place at the end of the days." |
