1 في الشهر الثامن في السنة الثانية لداريوس كانت كلمة الرب الى زكريا بن برخيا بن عدّو النبي قائلا	1 In the second year of Darius, in the eighth month, the word of the LORD came to the prophet Zechariah, son of Berechiah, son of Iddo:
2 قد غضب الرب غضبا على آبائكم.	2 The LORD was indeed angry with your fathers. . .
3 فقل لهم. هكذا قال رب الجنود. ارجعوا اليّ يقول رب الجنود فارجع اليكم يقول رب الجنود.	3 and say to them: Thus says the LORD of hosts: Return to me, says the LORD of hosts, and I will return to you, says the LORD of hosts.
4 لا تكونوا كآبائكم الذين ناداهم الانبياء الاولون قائلين هكذا قال رب الجنود ارجعوا عن طرقكم الشريرة وعن اعمالكم الشريرة. فلم يسمعوا ولم يصغوا اليّ يقول رب الجنود.	4 Be not like your fathers whom the former prophets warned: Thus says the LORD of hosts: Turn from your evil ways and from your wicked deeds. But they would not listen or pay attention to me, says the LORD.
5 آباؤكم اين هم. والانبياء هل ابدا يحيون.	5 Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, can they live forever?
6 ولكن كلامي وفرائضي التي اوصيت بها عبيدي الانبياء أفلم تدرك آباءكم. فرجعوا وقالوا كما قصد رب الجنود ان يصنع بنا كطرقنا وكاعمالنا كذلك فعل بنا	6 But my words and my decrees, which I entrusted to my servants the prophets, did not these overtake your fathers? Then they repented and admitted: "The LORD of hosts has treated us according to our ways and deeds, just as he had determined he would."
7 في اليوم الرابع والعشرين من الشهر الحادي عشر. هو شهر شباط. في السنة الثانية لداريوس كانت كلمة الرب الى زكريا بن برخيا بن عدّو النبي قائلا	7 In the second year of Darius, on the twenty-fourth day of Shebat, the eleventh month, the word of the LORD came to the prophet Zechariah, son of Berechiah, son of Iddo, in the following way:
8 رأيت في الليل واذا برجل راكب على فرس احمر وهو واقف بين الآس الذي في الظل وخلفه خيل حمر وشقر وشهب.	8 I had a vision during the night. There appeared the driver of a red horse, standing among myrtle trees in a shady place, and behind him were red, sorrel, and white horses.
9 فقلت يا سيدي ما هؤلاء. فقال لي الملاك الذي كلمني انا أريك ما هؤلاء.	9 Then I asked, "What are these, my lord?"; and the angel who spoke with me answered me, "I will show you what these are."
10 فاجاب الرجل الواقف بين الآس وقال هؤلاء هم الذين ارسلهم الرب للجولان في الارض.	10 The man who was standing among the myrtle trees spoke up and said, "These are they whom the LORD has sent to patrol the earth."
11 فاجابوا ملاك الرب الواقف بين الآس وقالوا قد جلنا في الارض واذا الارض كلها مستريحة وساكنة	11 And they answered the angel of the LORD who was standing among the myrtle trees and said, "We have patrolled the earth; see, the whole earth is tranquil and at rest!"
12 فاجاب ملاك الرب وقال. يا رب الجنود الى متى انت لا ترحم اورشليم ومدن يهوذا التي غضبت عليها هذه السبعين سنة.	12 Then the angel of the Lord spoke out and said, "O LORD of hosts, how long will you be without mercy for Jerusalem and the cities of Judah that have felt your anger these seventy years?"
13 فاجاب الرب الملاك الذي كلمني بكلام طيب وكلام تعزية.	13 To the angel who spoke with me, the LORD replied with comforting words.
14 فقال لي الملاك الذي كلمني ناد قائلا. هكذا قال رب الجنود. غرت على اورشليم وعلى صهيون غيرة عظيمة.	14 And the angel who spoke with me said to me, Proclaim: Thus says the LORD of hosts: I am deeply moved for the sake of Jerusalem and Zion,
15 وانا مغضب بغضب عظيم على الامم المطمئنين. لاني غضبت قليلا وهم اعانوا الشر.	15 and I am exceedingly angry with the complacent nations; whereas I was but a little angry, they added to the harm.
16 لذلك هكذا قال الرب. قد رجعت الى اورشليم بالمراحم فبيتي يبنى فيها يقول رب الجنود ويمد المطمار على اورشليم.	16 Therefore, says the LORD: I will turn to Jerusalem in mercy; my house shall be built in it, says the LORD of hosts, and a measuring line shall be stretched over Jerusalem.
17 ناد ايضا وقل. هكذا قال رب الجنود. ان مدني تفيض بعد خيرا والرب يعزّي صهيون بعد ويختار بعد اورشليم	17 Proclaim further: Thus says the LORD of hosts: My cities shall again overflow with prosperity; the LORD will again comfort Zion, and again choose Jerusalem.
18 فرفعت عينيّ ونظرت واذا باربعة قرون.
19 فقلت للملاك الذي كلمني. ما هذه. فقال لي هذه هي القرون التي بددت يهوذا واسرائيل واورشليم.
20 فاراني الرب اربعة صنّاع.
21 فقلت جاء هؤلاء ماذا يفعلون. فتكلم قائلا هذه هي القرون التي بددت يهوذا حتى لم يرفع انسان راسه. وقد جاء هؤلاء ليرعبوهم وليطردوا قرون الامم الرافعين قرنا على ارض يهوذا لتبديدها
