Hosea 6

1 In their tribulation, they will arise early to me. Come, let us return to the Lord.	1 Nella loro afflizione al mattino si alzeranno per venire a me. Su via torniamo al Signore;
2 For he has seized us, and he will heal us. He will strike, and he will cure us.	2 Perocché egli stesso ci ha rapiti, e ci salverà; ci ha percossi, e ci guarirà.
3 He will revive us after two days; on the third day he will raise us up, and we will live in his sight. We will understand, and we will continue on, so that we may know the Lord. His landing place has been prepared like the first light of morning, and he will come to us like the early and the late rains of the land.	3 Egli ci renderà la vita dopo due giorni, e il terzo giorno ci risusciterà, e viveremo dinanzi a lui. Lo conosceremo, e seguiremo il Signore per conoscerlo. E preparata la venuta di lui, come l'aurora, ed egli verrà a noi, come vien alla terra la piova d'autunno, e quella di primavera.
4 What am I to do with you, Ephraim? What am I to do with you, Judah? Your mercy is like the morning mist, and like the dew passing away in the morning.	4 Che farò io a te, o Ephraim? Che farò a te, o Giuda? La vostra bontà è come una nuvola mattutina, e come rugiada, che al mattino sparisce.
5 Because of this, I have cut them with the prophets, I have slain them with the words of my mouth; and your opinions will depart like the light.	5 Per questo io messi lo scalpello in mano a' miei profeti, dava io ad essi la morte colle parole della mia bocca. Cosi la tua condannagione verrà fuori come la luce;
6 For I desired mercy and not sacrifice, and knowledge of God more than holocausts.	6 Perocché la misericordia io amo, e non il sagrifìzio; e la scienza di Dio più, che gli olocausti.
7 But they, like Adam, have transgressed the covenant; in this, they have been dishonest with me.	7 Ma costoro han violato il patto a imitazione di Adamo, ivi hanno prevaricato contro di me.
8 Gilead is a city that manufactures idols; it has been tripped up by family relations.	8 Galaad città di fabbricatori di simulacri inondata di sangue:
9 And, like those who rob with skillful words, they, by conspiring with the priests, bring a death sentence to travelers on a pilgrimage from Shechem; for they have been performing evil deeds.	9 Sue fauci son come quelle di uomini ladroni, si è unita co' sacerdoti, che uccidono la gente, che si muove da Sichem: scellerate cose hanno fatte.
10 I have seen horrible things in the house of Israel; the fornications of Ephraim are there. Israel has been contaminated.	10 Orribil cosa ho veduta nella casa d'Israele; ivi le fornicazioni di Ephraim: Israele è contaminato.
11 But you, Judah, set a harvest for yourself, while I reverse the captivity of my people.	11 E anche tu, o Giuda: preparati alla messe, fìnochè io riconduca dalla cattività il mio popolo.
