A Psalm of David himself. The Lord has reigned: let the peoples be angry. He sits upon the cherubim: let the earth be moved. | 1 O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory. |
The Lord is great in Zion, and he is high above all peoples. | 2 The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen. |
May they confess to your great name, for it is terrible and holy. | 3 He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. |
And the honor of the king loves judgment. You have prepared guidance. You have accomplished judgment and justice in Jacob. | 4 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. |
Exalt the Lord our God, and adore the footstool of his feet, for it is holy. | 5 Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm. |
Moses and Aaron are among his priests, and Samuel is among those who call upon his name. They called upon the Lord, and he heeded them. | 6 With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King. |
He spoke to them in the pillar of the cloud. They kept his testimonies and the precept that he gave them. | 7 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. |
You heeded them, O Lord our God. You were a forgiving God to them, though taking vengeance on all their inventions. | 8 Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together |
Exalt the Lord our God, and adore on his holy mountain. For the Lord our God is holy. | 9 Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity. |
