Psalms 85

1 A Prayer of David himself. Incline your ear, O Lord, and hear me. For I am needy and poor.	1 Porgi, o Signore, il tuo orecchio ed esaudiscimi, perchè io son misero e povero.
2 Preserve my soul, for I am holy. My God, bring salvation to your servant who hopes in you.	2 Custodisci l'anima mia, perchè io sono tuo fedele; o mio Dio, salva il tuo stavo, che in te confida.
3 O Lord, be merciful to me, for I have cried out to you all day long.	3 Abbi pietà di me, o Signore, perchè da tutto il giorno a te grido.
4 Give joy to the soul of your servant, for I have lifted up my soul to you, Lord.	4 Allieta l'anima del tuo servo, chè a te, o Signore, innalzo l'anima mia.
5 For you are sweet and mild, Lord, and plentiful in mercy to all who call upon you.	5 Tu sei buono, o Signore, e benigno, e molto misericordioso verso tutti coloro che t'invocano.
6 Pay attention, Lord, to my prayer, and attend to the voice of my supplication.	6 Porgi l'orecchio, o Signore, alla mia preghiera, stai attento al gemito delle mie suppliche.
7 In the day of my tribulation, I cried out to you, because you heeded me.	7 Nel giorno della tribolazione io grido a te, perchè mi esaudisci.
8 There is no one like you among the gods, O Lord, and there is no one like you in your works.	8 Nessuno fra gli dèi è simile a te, o Signore, nulla può uguagliar le tue opere.
9 All the nations, which you have made, will draw near and adore in your presence, O Lord. And they will glorify your name.	9 Tutto lo nazioni che tu hai create, verranno a prostrarsi dinanzi a te, o Signore, e daran gloria al tuo nome;
10 For you are great, and you perform wonders. You alone are God.	10 Perchè tu sei grande e fai maraviglie, tu solo sei Dio.
11 Lead me, O Lord, in your way, and I will walk in your truth. May my heart rejoice, so that it will fear your name.	11 Guidami nella tua via, o Signore, io vo' camminare nella tua verità; si rallegri il mio cuore nel temere il tuo nome.
12 I will confess to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart. And I will glorify your name in eternity.	12 Vo' celebrarti, o Signore mio Dìo, con tutto il mio cuore, vo' glorificare in eterno il tuo nome.
13 For your mercy toward me is great, and you have rescued my soul from the lower part of Hell.	13 Perchè grande è la tua misericordia verso di me: tu hai strappata l'anima mia dal profondo inferno.
14 O God, the iniquitous have risen up against me, and the synagogue of the powerful have sought my soul, and they have not placed you in their sight.	14 O Dio, i malvagi si son levati contro di me, una turba di potenti attenta alla mia vita, senza guardare per nulla a te.
15 And you, Lord God, are compassionate and merciful, being patient and full of mercy and truthful.	15 Ma tu, o Signore, Dio pietoso e misericordioso, paziente, di molta misericordia e verace,
16 Look down upon me and have mercy on me. Grant your authority to your servant, and bring salvation to the son of your handmaid.	16 Volgi il tuo sguardo su di me, e abbi di me pietà, comunica la tua potenza al tuo servo e salva il figlio della tua ancella.
17 Make me a sign of what is good, so that those who hate me, may look and be confounded. For you, O Lord, have helped me and consoled me.	17 Dammi un segno di bontà, affinchè i miei nemici, vedendo, arrossiscano, perchè tu, o Signore, mi hai aiutato o consolato.
